Oh god! Once again I have wasted my time writing fan-fiction when I could have been working on my novel. But you wanted some M/M love, and here it is:

Hawke was a man of tenderness. Never had he witnessed him lash out in anger at some low-life up to no good, never been cruel to another such as he himself had. Despite his strong body and sharp mind he always knew when to resolve a situation with words, not with battle.
Fenris envied him sometimes. And, for some reason, he could make him feel like an idiot, a foolish child not knowing when to stop. When they had reached the Magister's lair his calm eyes had pierced through to his boiling soul. And even though he had longed for that moment his entire life as he knew it, Hawke made him reconsider. Perhaps there was another way? Maybe revenge would not make living easier?
In the end he had let him go through with it, and the disappointment he had hid well. But as always Hawke was no expert at keeping his emotions hidden. Being the strong leader he was, it was of utmost importance that his companions knew where he stood in any given situation.
At first Fenris could not understand why he cared so much about the man's feelings toward him. Was it because he did not only make him feel guilt, but could also make a sense of warmth spread through his body with a mere smile?
Fenris braced himself and knocked on the door. Hawke opened with a slightly disoriented look on his face that would have amused Fenris were he not so busy keeping his nerves under control. Hawke smiled when he saw who it was and invited him in.
He led him to the living room where he sat down next to the dining table. Fenris hesitated, still not quite comfortable putting himself in such a indefensible position.
“Sit, please”, said Hawke and he let go of his silly thoughts. “You had something on your mind?” Fenris eyes caught on his soft lips, his trimmed beard. He thought of the advice Isabela had given him earlier. “Don't think. Just do.”
“I think... I have feelings for you,” he blurted out. Hawke's jaw dropped open.
“Feelings? How long?”
“I don't know. A while.”
“I see...” Hawke looked down at his rough hands, scarred from years of travelling on dangerous roads.
“You do not feel the same. I am sorry”, said Fenris and jumped to his feet, eager to leave this thick atmosphere.
“No, Fenris. Wait,” said Hawke and walked over to him. He put a hand on his shoulder and looked at him with earnest eyes.
“It is just so sudden. I haven't given it any thought.”
“It was foolish of me. Please, forget this happened and I shall not bother you with it again.” Fenris tore himself free from his grip and hurried for the door. He had just reached the handle when Hawke caught up with him.
“It was not foolish,” he said before he, hesitantly and with that ever-lasting innocent look in his eyes, lay a warm hand on his cheek and pulled him closer with the other.

But forced to choose, my vote is for Fenris being the m/m option. Anders just doesn't strike me as the type. And before you go on about his gifts in Awakening, all that does is prove he likes scarves, kittens and has a pierced ear. He's not gay, he's metrosexual! See, I cannot bring mself to jump on the all bi bandwagon. It just seems like cheating. In real life if you fall in love with someone who does not share your sexual orientation, well, tough bananas. It sucks but you can't change the way someone is. I think making all the romances available to both genders would compromise the integrity of the character (not to mention be totally unrealistic). Sexual orientation isn't a defining characteristic, but it does have a large impact on who someone is. If a character is written as bisexual, then that's something that has affected them in their lives one way or another and was part of their character development. The same can be said for homosexuals and heterosexuals. Making them all available just seems like fan-service and it it trivializes the impact sexual orientation has on a character's personality.
That said, my vote for m/m would deff be Anders. I'd be fine if it were Fenris instead, but Anders always DID strike me as the type while Fenris, not so much...I could be wrong, we'll just have to wait and see.
