lol Y.W, I agree though Bioware probably didn't do anything like that. Ah, can't wait to find out the Bi Option for a M!Hawke... why is the m/m option always the last one, while the f/f one had been known for quite some time? (well, we all knew Isabela too, so... )

2 days till demo time, rawrr. Alas Fenris will probably not be in it, but I'm going to play it while logged in so it counts to the 2 million landmark Bioware wants. We reach that, we get a new shiny toy! HA!

Something else but slightly related, during the live chat we all noticed that Fenris was the only one that was not selectable on the party selection screen. A while ago one of the devs posted somewhere that sometimes companions are not available because they are doing something else, so maybe it is possible to have Fenris during the Isabela meeting but he just wasn't available.
This new system about followers having their own lives sounds really good, but if it means I cannot always put them in my party when I want to kinda annoys me. The moment I have all the companions I decide/create my 'standard' team for that playthrough and those companions are in my team all the time (unless game mechanics force me to take someone else). I'm not happy with the possibility of 'you can't take companion X because he is busy doing something else.'. >>'

In a way, them having their own lives prevent players from always picking the same team. I remember in one of my first plays with my Male GW, I always took Zevran, Alistair and Morigan for almost everything (just changing for the personal quests).  Bioware may want to avoid that. I love thinking that we won't stuck with a fixed party, even though I wanted to have Fenris and Varric as much as possible in my team. It will allow us to get to know all party members more.

I agree that not having someone we really want is kind of sad, but I'm sure it will be worth it.
