I think you misjudge us and our motives. There's nothing wrong with perversity and insanity, as long as it follows from a premise that can hold up to scrutiny. Fenris as the short story describes him just calls for a different brand of perversity than seems to have caught on.
It's like earlier I brought up the idea that Fenris reminds me a bit of The Fountainhead's Howard Roark. That book
does have a controversial sex scene in it involving that character.
