Anyone notice towards the end of the video that when the gamespot guy asks about epic boss battles, Laidlaw replies with something akin to: "They're bigger, especially towards the end of Hawke's LIFE..." ...is this indicating that Hawke dies at the end of the game?

There was some rumors implaying that Hawke CAN die at the end, but it's only a possibility. A bit like in ME2, where Shepard can die at the end of the game.

Guy with bowl cut: I don't know who you are, but you made a serious mistake coming here. Lieutenant, I want everyone in the clearing! Now!

Lieutenant: Captain... *deathgurgle*

Fenris: Your men are dead. And your trap has failed. I suggest running back to your master while you can.

GWBC: You're going nowhere slave! *dies*

Fenris: I am not a slave. *to Hawke* I apologize. When I asked Anso to provide a distraction for the hunters I had no idea they'd be so numerous.

Hawke: It appears we're unscathed.

Fenris: Impressive. My name is Fenris. These men were imperial bounty hunters sent to track down a magister's lost property. Namely myself. They were trying to lure me into the open. Crude as their methods were I could not face them alone. Thankfully Anso chose wisely.

Hawke: That seems like a lot of effort to find one slave.

Fenris: It is.

Hawke: Does this have something to do with those markings?

Fenris: Yes. I imagine I must look strange to you. I did not receive these markings by choice. Even so, they have served me well. Without them I would still be a slave.

Hawke: If they were really trying to recapture you then I'm happy I helped.

Fenris: I have met few in my travels that have sought anything more than personal gain. If I may ask, what was in the chest? The one the Captain [ something ].

Hawke: It was empty.

Fenris: I suppose it was too much to hope for. Even so. I had to know.

Hawke: You didn't need to lie to get my help.

Fenris: That remains to be seen. [ something something ] My former master [ something ]. I know you have questions, but I must confront him before he flees. I will need your help.

Hawke: If it means fighting more slavers I'll help you.

Fenris: I will [ something ]. I swear it. The Magister is staying in a mansion in Hightown. Meet me there as soon as you can. We must [ something ] before morning.

[In Hightown]

Fenris: ... from within. Denerius may know we're here. I wouldn't put it past him.

Hawke: I could stand to know a little more about this Denerius.

Fenris: He is a Magister of the Tevinter Imperium.

Varric: Oh? Is that all? Nothing to worry about then.

Fenris: There, he is a wealthy mage with great influence. Here, he is but a man who sweats like any other when death comes for him.

Hawke: What's the worst that could happen?

Fenris: I do not fear death. That does not mean we should be reckless.

[Inside]

Fenris: I am not afraid of you Denerius!

Okay, he's a lot more polite than I was imagining from his short story. Maybe I'll pick the rude responses just to rival him up and get on his bad side. I was liking the idea of a complicated, semi-antagonistic relationship with him.

Lol, at all the people complaining about Mike's talking. I personally don't want too many spoilers so I'm okay with it. I definitely have more appreciation for Fenris' design after this. He also seems calm and polite enough if somewhat manipulative. I'm curious as to what caused the +5 friendship from Aveline though.

Exactly my point. I've big doubts about getting to the magister right away, especially since they did say that we pick up Fenris "pretty early in the game."

I was getting shades of Thane in that.

This is a good thing. Loves me some Thane. Hell, that one bottom option of 'You used me!' or whatever, is that not very similar to the one that pops up with Thane in Dantius?
