Ontopic: he has very pretty eyes. Very sad eyes too. He also is a lot more polite than I origially thought (but it reminds me of Balthier which is only a plus).

Are you downloading it from the Dragon age site? I had to go on fileplanet just to get a decent speed.

*Downloaded it in 15 mins on PC, tops. No joke.*

I had to use fileplanet just for decent speeds. I also think steam has the demo now to.

we're supposed to look to convicts for our ethical compass - so clearly it was a light-hearted statement
The light-hearted part was about thinking of Fenris as a child or puppy. The rest of the reasoning was not. The convict bit is that there's a line even certain people average folks might consider "evil" wouldn't themselves cross. Abusing a child is one of the worst crimes imaginable to me. And that's the last I'll respond on that.

I thought the same thing about the eyes, but about Lady Hawke in the video. Her eyes were such a bright teal it was kinda freaky. But overall I like the color scheme, though the animations are a bit Kingdom-Hearts-esque to me. Not in the "OMG sparkle sparkle" way, but there's just stuff flying everywhere, in this case mostly blood. Don't get me wrong, though, the gameplay looks really fun.
That said, and back to topic, I really think Fenris will make a great melee character. I plan on playing a DW Rogue, maybe he can be a tank character. It'll be interesting to see.

I'd actually like to touch on the fact that he has such dark eyebrows. This might sound silly, but it makes me wonder if the lyrium altered his appearance (aside from the scarring). He could have looked completely different before he was enslaved. Just a random thought, I suppose. ^^;
I'm curious about that, too. If it changed his hair color, then why wouldn't it change his eyebrows?

Veneer of Calm
Fenris maintains an aura of calm, but it is only a facade. Every wound he takes stirs his deeply buried resentment, increasing his attack damage. Damage up to 200%, Passive Ability.
Lyrium Ghost
While this mode is active, Fenris fades into a wraithlike state and becomes difficult to track on the battlefield. Defense +20%, Critical Chance +20%, Reserved: 25% of stamina, Cooldown 10s, Sustained mode.
Hmm, I may have glossed over this in my rantings but there's an interesting hint here. Why is Fenris putting up a facade of calm? For whose benefit and why? Is that the "stoic" veneer that's been hinted at? Is he uncomfortable with his own inner rage? That can't be easy to maintain.
The latter I think was shown in a screenshot where he, well, looks like a floating lyrium ghost. Not sure if it effects or alters his personality, though.

I don't see much of a thane connection,
Except his introduction, where he uses the protagonist as a decoy and then kills a dude infront of your character. Aside from that we'd have to see. They're both sort of "living weapons with dark pasts" but then of course so was Jack, and her background is closer to Fenris' (at least that's what we've been led to think so far).
I mean, he's not a copy of either, just certain elements evoke memories of other characters.

His hair could have been very dark, or not even that dark. A lot of people(or, most?) have darker-colored eyebrows than their hair color. He could have been dirty-blonde before.LOLZkeesaw wrote...

Sounds like his copeing mechanism to me.
