Am I the only one wouldn't be bothered by the possibility that Fenris was married in his past life?

*bro/sis/whatever-fistbump* :D

And yes, there's also the possibility of an arranged marriage via the city elf origin, but I think this would be the least interesting scenario for me, personally.  Not as much emotional impact?  I don't know, but I suppose anything is possible. :P

So long as he's written well,I honestly don't mind.I like characters with emotional storylines.

That's exactly the thing. I'm getting tired of Carth Syndrome. So damn tired.

It will be written well but it lost it's punch after Jade Empire. I'm just sick and tired of it.

And if he compares the female PC to his wife...urgh.

No.

God if he does I hope he's bi. Can't compare me to another woman when my PC is a man. Image IPB

you are not the only one. i get sick at just the thought of that darn carth syndrome.Image IPB

And to think we were running wild with jokes about this in the romance thread awhile ago.

You know it could of been an arranged marriage like the city elfs.

To that point, we could have a Goldana-esque scene. You find his wife and she starts going off on Fenris for disappearing for Maker-knows-how-long and leaving her to deal with everything, and what is this? You have someone else? Don't waste my time unless you have money! *doorslaminface*

Okay that wouldn't be half bad if only for the "WTF?" factor.

LOL that's exactly how I feel abou it at this point. It doesn't even matter how well written it is anymore because all the other ones were well written. It's like you seeing a particularly nice trick. No matter how nice it loks if you constantly see it you're gonna hit a point where you go "Again? Lame."

Right. At this point it just seems like a crutch rather than a plot point.

I do like the idea of it being a ploy by the Magister. That would actually be something fresh and dramatic.

love to the person that posted this spoiler. true or not this made my night. yes. i am a terrible person.

and really is the former spouse ANY more cliche than someone that has been single their whole life or someone that beds every other person they meet? it's an archtype. though i do agree that its REALLY awkward if the character goes out of their way to mention it.

Me too! *handraise*
If it's done differently, then hey... I can deal. Didn't stop me from liking Carth or Thane. I'll probably just slide by the comparisons by making light-hearted snarky comments, or quietly patting him on the back.

Silver lining!

He better not get his memory back in time to "convienetly" remember her.

And please let it just be a ploy. Though the sheer hilarity value of him realizing he loves her and dumping Hawke would be refreshing.

I do hope it's a ploy. A good ploy tat probably causes some friction (if in a romance) with him and Hawke. But in the end only a ploy.

There are still a lot of possibilities.

His wife could be like the Goldanna situation, or she could have simply moved on and found someone else. Honestly, it's a little early to be writing his romance off already.
