Ah, so, my mind wandered as I thought about the possible Mabari companion-- specifically the idea of rivalry coming to be between the Mabari and the LI for Hawke's affections. And then this was born:


Hawke: (Cooing as she pats the head of her trusted Mabari hound.) Such a good boy you are, Brutus! Whose my little vanquisher of Darkspawn?
Brutus: (Barks happily and hops on his paws in excitement, pleased to be praised by his Mistress.)
Hawke: That's right! Such a smart boy.

(Hawke continues to gush over her four-legged companion while the rest of her party carry about looting the fallen Darkspawn corpses, preparing themselves for the battles ahead of them, or stroking their luscious chest hair towards the heavens--except for a certain elf warrior. A frown tugs at Fenris' lips at the scene, which doesn't go unnoticed by the resident dwarven merchant.)

Varric: (Looks between the three, a sly grin spreading across his features.) What's wrong, elf? Can't handle a little competition?

Fenris:  (He watches his lover's interaction with her pet, and feels a twinge of fire spark in his chest. He scoffs outwardly, grumbling.) Hmph. I am not jealous of a dog.

(At that moment, Fenris happens to lock eyes with the Mabari, only to raise a speculative brow at the look of smugness he was giving the man. When the corners of his drooped jowels up-turned mockingly as he snuggled closer to Hawke, it took everything Fenris had in him not to out-right gawk at the beast.)

Hawke: (Glances over at Fenris to see him staring with a deeply disturbed expression.) Fenris? What's the matter?

Fenris: The mutt, it's...smirking at me.

Varric: (Snickers.)

Oh, so do I. I've not written anything for Fen, but I do enjoy writing fanfiction. I just very seldom post any of it anywhere, anymore. Doesn't help that the fandoms I'm into/writing for lately are mostly full of... inferior quality works, and I just don't feel that I would get any good feedback or criticism out of the people who read it -within that fandom. As in, it's fans... just... from the reviews they give are... eh.

from Dragon Age wiki: The name Fenris probably alludes to the name of the wolf, Fenrir of
Norse mythology (Spelled and pronounced Fenris in Scandinavian
languages) who bit off the right hand of the god Tyr. It was also
foretold that he would kill the father of the gods, Odin, at Ragnarok.
The name is relevant to him, but unrelated to his abilities.


I'm thinking maybe Fenris like the wolf kills the Magister/ Odin? and Ragnarok being the hellstorm that arrupts afterward which somehow works into the issues that has brought Cassandra to seek out Varric? I dunno I'm just throwing it out there...

Yeah, I know what you mean. Not to mention some of the things fans dream up can be...terrifying.

Could be! Fenris had mentioned somewhere in the video that the Magister was an influential person in the Tevinter. His death would certainly rile up some folks.

True.. and I can imagine that it must be ..frustrating. But at the same time why hide away brilliant talent and not share it with the world..you never know when something you write can inspire others to create epic stuff of their own...
