When Carver died in my ogre battle it was because he wouldn't take a health potion, no matter how many times I told him to! Arggh, I even pulled him away from the fight so he wasn't even in the middle of any attacks, but no matter how many times I clicked the health potion (of which there were several available) he ignored me. And then he died. <_< I hope it was just a demo glitch and won't be in the game (everyone else in my party was perfectly capable of taking a health potion when I told them to, though).

Agreed. And Carver's stupid self wouldn't obey orders at times or would stand there like an idiot.

Lol yes, and sometimes in earlier parts of the demo he would just stand back and watch while everyone else was fighting. I'd look around and wonder where the hell Carver was, and he's like a mile back, twiddling his thumbs.

Just a Carver thing? Or perhaps a two-handed warrior thing? If it's the latter I'm going to be very annoyed with Fenris in any given battle.

More like an old build thing, I think they pretty much fixed that though.

No I have had a few runs with Aveline standing back not doing anything, the next part of demo she is fine. I think its a bug or pathfinding issue. I hope the potion drinking is fixed too Carver ignored me 3 times in a row.

LOL Bethany would do that at times (either that or run right into the middle of the fray like an idiot) soit's probably in general.

And yeah if that happens in game my PC is probably going to cry. Stupid Carver dying because he refused to drink the potion. :crying:

Even the parts discussing the properties of Fenris' juices?

Oh, and welcome. :innocent:

Oh god, I had Carver just stand there with his big old sword watching the rest of us do all the work. Lazy bugger =]

Had to take control and point him at the bad guys and say "look, dem baddies, you warrior, this sword -- now poke!"

There's a cooldown on potions now, so that could've been the problem.

Honestly, I wish we had a choice between saving Bethany or Carver, just like the "Ashley and Kaidan deal" in ME1. But then again, they wanted a balanced team for the start of the game I guess...:?

LOL I can't RP in LJ I feel odd.

It can be hectic and weird at times (some games are anything goes, and it means ANYTHING) and I usually prefer IM RP, but lately I haven't done much of either. Sigh, work.

Slowly but surely. But of course there are those that play into the sterotype (Heck I did start out playing BW games only for the romances. I've since grown to appreciate other things and other genres and the freedom of choice in decisions but I started out in the sterotypical way).

I've been a long time gamer (almost 20 years now? Holy s***, I'm old) and seeing how far women have come in the market as a force to be reckoned with makes me proud. Yeah, we have a little ways to go yet. Still proud, even if the stereotypes linger on.

I can't play as renegade too often. Too much douchebag for my tastes.  And I know I'm in a minority but Hale's voice makes me turn the game off. Meer maybe flat but he isn't annoying. And Female Hawke is just bleh. Male Hawke to me sounds decent. But of course different strokes for different folks.

That is the one drawback to voicing characters; everyone will take it differently. At least with DA2, there shouldn't be anymore accidental flirting or accidental douchebag moves because we'll at least know the tone of our choices.

No one had a potion yet in my game(s) when this happened. He was the only one who wouldn't do it. But may be a glitch...who knows?

Hello Merrose!

Having to choose between which family member lives or dies in the first 20 minutes of the game seems way too morbid. Even for Bioware.

but this is offtopic.

@catabuca. He definitly ran away.:P

You do have a choice. You either play a mage or a rogue/warrior. :P

You can't choose because the order dictates there must be an apostate in your family for the main story to make sense.

lol, yeah, but you knew what I mean. ^^ Not that I mind Bethany, but I'd love to keep my brother while playing rogue. *shrug* Well, my next one will be mage anyway, so that's ok.

On the subject of party members standing around doing nothing, if ANYONE in my party stands there without action and just GUZZLES ALL MY POTS during the final battle like Alistair did, I will assume direct control and promptly find a way to have them commit suicide.

Fenris related: I wonder which other party members he will have the best banter with...

LOL it is a good thing though. At least we always have devs like BW who don't completely objectifiy females in their games and don't ignore their female playerbase.

Yeah that's why I cried when I heard about DA2's PC being voiced. And yeah I Don't have to worry about my poor Shepard getting raped by the Consort again.

I hope 2-handers get a bit more hardy. If going by Carver is any indication Fenris will be down and out for every fight. That would make me sad. So very sad.

We'll get used to the voices, after all we have no choice. I found M!Hawke French voice a bit odd at first but quickly get used to it. *shrug* I didn't like FemShepard French voice at first (and for a long time), but eventually get used to it too. Now, if it was changed in ME3, I'd be "WTH?"

@FD: Na, I'm pretty sure not. It will depend how we'll use his talent tree and strategy.

Lmao I was just looking at the video again when Fenris is talking about the magister, and you can totally see a guy in the background scratch his behind.

I haven't referenced it in a while and I need to in order to fill my quota, so, here's some off topic lulz:

In Age of Conan one of the many pre-set NPC animations for male mobs was urinating.  If you engaged them while they were, well, doing their business it would go flying everywhere as they fought back with their pants unzipped.  MANY LULZ WERE HAD.

Resume discussion!

Why isn't that in DA? Rampant urinating!

Back to Fenris: the only time I've seen him take a serious hit in the videos is when he got hit by that monster's energy/lightning attack and was thrown back.

Thank GOD for miracles in the world of gaming. BW does seem to have a much more open mind. I'm usually very impressed by their work, and what I've seen of DA2 characters (new ones specifically) it looks like I'll have another long addiction...

You too? All I wanted was just a little more money. :pinched: Then she touched me in the bad place. :crying:

Having googled a video of the regular, non-fighting urinating (www.youtube.com/watch - mute for the sake of your ears) I can safely assume it's because we'd be so busy laughing and pissing all over each other that we'd never get any gaming done.

... if party members did it, it would be doubly hilarious.

At a first glance, I read, there's a cooldown on potatoes now.

I'm fine otherwise. Perfectly fine.

In the video when you enter the warehouse, Fenris yells: "I'm not afraid of you, Denerius!"

Fenris said that Denerius was wealthy and powerful back (whereever he lived). Getting away from him must have hell for Fenris. He must have been scared back then. I can't imagine it happened without a lot of bloodshed either.

Edit: failpost

Oghren would be the one doing it. Zevran was suspicious of his ale for good reasons.
