In the screen, the door is WIDE OPEN. He probably just waited until they were deeply distracted with each other, then plopped down on the stairs with a goblet of wine for the show... to which Isabela may or may not have been invited. (why can I imagine Varric and Isabela sitting there watching everything, then nudging each other the next day and giving poor Hawke and Fenris knowing looks... and probably plenty of lewd remarks and jokes).

I can see Isabela, being like :devil: while watching. XD

Drawing humans (or human-like creatures) is not really my thing. I'll stick to animals.
