I've been looking up a lot of Gideon Emery's Balthier lines on youtube..... unnnffff. I know Balthier and Fenris are going to be played in different ways; being very different characters, but if he does those sultry lines in the same way, that purr in his voice... I'm going to be a puddle of goo under my desk.

Hawke: We're surrounded! There's no way we're getting out of this!
Fenris: (sighs) You know I could always just get the Airship.
Varric: What in blazes is an airshi- (looks up) By the stone, what...where...how?

So that's how he escaped the Magister

God, I hope he doesn't die. I can't shake the feeling that he's going to, tooI mean, that's a LOT of lyrium.
On the other hand, if he was dying to lyrium exposure, don't you think he would have started by now? He's still looking pretty good, and he didn't seem very concerned about it during his short story, which was from his own point of view. Maybe he doesn't know? Maybe it'll suddenly catch up to him?
Gah, I truly hope he doesn't die, that would be indescribably lame. I can't handle it. I liked how there was no really happy ending for Alistair and Morrigan's romances in DA:O, but there were degrees of unhappiness, and they fell more on the side of bittersweet. Death is so extreme. And lame.
Well do you remember that Dwarf Merchant in Orzammar across from the entrance to the Diamond Quarter? He had only minor lyrim posioning and it caused several mental defects. I am sure if the lyrim was not contained Fenris would be dead a long time ago. There must be some sort of magic barrier to defect deadly side affect. Plus what the mage did to Fenris probably was not easy and would most likely cost a small fortune, i am sure the magister would not want him dying easily.

I have really enjoyed reading some of the fan fiction snippets. For those of you with FFN accounts, if you post a link to any Fenris stories you would like reviews on, I would be happy to oblige.
Since I can't read through the entire thread, may I ask if anything is known as to how or why Fenris was branded with the lyrium by his master? Please forgive me if this has already been asked multiple times already.

Oh yes
I'll inevitably love him however he behaves but while he's still somewhat of a mystery, I'm waving my very specific flag.

How? probably the same way enchantments are put into weapons. Why? There's a few possible reasons. Most likely he's an experiment. He's been described as a living weapon, with no memories. Maybe his mind was wiped clean on purpose to better be a weapon. Maybe it was a side-effect of the lyrium.
Either way, if a mage could safely use lyrium like that, they'd be insanely powerful. Likely, the magister's goal is to figure a way to safely weaponize living body "enchantment". Maybe he's a mana battery. Maybe the magister wants a perfect, obedient, and very very powerful pet. Things like Fenris must be quite the novelty to show off to his collegues. Like a prize-bred race horse.
We'll probably find out through Fenris' personal quest chain. For now i don't think we know much for certain.

Sandal: Enchantment!
Magister: It's alive! My elf is alive! And he does +30% Fire damage per second!

I guess whatever the motivation, his master was a twisted SOB. I hope we have the chance to hurt him in special ways.

Bahahaha...I love it!! That it quite the disaster they left in the wake of their "activities" not to mention the money left by the bedside...poor Hawke. At least the money might cover the renovation costs! lol<3
