His backstory sounds similar to Wolverines' doesn't it?

EDIT: Morrigan/Sten/Shale personality meaning he hates mages/thinks they deserve to die/be chained... Maybe not Morrigan as much but still... She thought Apostates were the thing

Me
An Apostate
Blackmarket Type Dwarf
A Pirate
Some Elf that has WTF MAGIC powers from Lyrium
Possibly another Apostate named Anders
And the wife to a TEMPLAR
Hopefully Aveline doesn't share her lover's distaste for magic. Or I expect a giant rift in my current party.

I think Feris will have a more "Morrigan/Sten/Shale" personality, because he lost his memory to a mage, well, not to a mage, but because of one. He might hate them, thinking that they all SUCK!!! (His opinion is his opinion ¬_¬) So, I'm guessing if he's a Love Interest, mages might need to be a bit more... how should I put this... Dah, can't come up with the word... Any suggestions xD

As Zeveran would say, a boot licker?

Dabuddah453, you could be right about the mage thing, it would kind of make sense for someone abused by a mage to dislike mages, somehow I doubt he would think they as you opinionated it... "SUCK" but yes I could see it that he might be go down the rivalry path for some Mage Hawkes (and possibly unscrupulous hawkes of any class too).
Oh and as for suggestions... charming I think would be a word

Well I would prefer ratcher if he turned into walking battery for mages with all this lyrium in his veins

He looks sexual, like David Bowie's Jareth in Labyrinth. Cross fingers for him being a L.I.!!!
Now all that's left is a manly man similar to Alistair to complete the love sandwich already forming n my head...

is there a reason he is named after a giant Norse wolf monster?
Isn't that FenRIR and not FenRIS?
Nope, it's Fenris. In the old norse (I am norwegian) it basically means Fenris-Wolf (fenrisulfr - norse, fenrisulven (literally Fenris-wolf in norwegian). It's called Fenrir in English basically because they can't pronounce it right (it was runes back then you know).
So it's Fenris, not Fenrir.

Come now, Varric will have to grow on me! His looks aren't my style, so hopefully the personality is WIN.

Yes, as Zev (Hey, he was my 2nd best buddy [Sten being 1st O.o] in 3/4 my playthroughs, so I can call him that!!!) put it "Boot Licker"
