P.S.: NWN offical campaign´s biggest flaw was it´s lack of party members. Being a single hero (who is not even godly) who beats demons, giants, hordes of Orcs and other stuff and even dragons practically on his own, felt incredible lame and silly. Besides the obvious fact that it was so much more boring to travel without interesting companions.
The later expansion redeemed it somewhat though, but not fully.

I dunno, the party members you got were interesting, but they lacked in that you could only have one at a time, and you couldn't bring the Paladin or the spymaster.

And there wasn't a lot of roleplay to be done, unlike say, in Dragon Age.

This is a matter of personal preference. I prefer playing one character, and hate party management.

I enjoy other bioware games (BG/DA) despite them being party based, not because of it.

It looks like other companies have single character RPGs (oblivion) and don't get knocked for it. But with Bioware everyone is always expecting another BG.

@Lowlander:

Well I am quite sure that the mass of fans of Bioware games, are not really into "single hero saves the world" games and are not too lazy to manage a party instead of a single "uber hero", otherwise they would care more for Bethesda etc.. Also honestly I can not follow your thoughts that a single character/hero rpg is more fun. Compared to e.g. Bg2. NWN 2; games like Oblivion feel rather shallow and empty to me.

That´s why from the perspective of someone who likes Bioware games (whose party interaction makes them stand out/unique compared to the rest) NWN was a substandard game, which didn´t fulfill the expectations you have for a Bioware game.
