Where is Bioware's integrity as a games developer?

"Renegade New Game - Starting a new character with a set background totally goes against the games theme of decisions and choices. New players to ME might think this is canon. I imported my ME1 characters so it doesnt affect me but I dont think its fair for other players."
...and now we learn this is in the PS3 version? well thanks for taking notice Bioware but you forgot to do it for the console that your game is most popular on.
It's not only a failure of the 360 fan base who have been supporting you since the game has begun but a failure as a games developer and in yourselves, if you are a games developer and you wanted to give people the same feeling you got when you first started gaming then you have failed by brushing aside your fans.
I have a 360, PC and PS3, only poor developers do not make their multiplatform games equal, and that's my take on the subject.

You're right the PC version is always superior. BRB editing my save file so Shepard has no arms and legs and a full automatic widow.

The PC version is undoubtedly better, but I have a desktop PC and all I want to do is sit back and relax and play the game and have fun, I don't care about draw distances and and how well the HD lines have been smoothed on your character, I have the same amount of fun as you playing with a controller and playing the game in HD.

That isn't related to what I was talking about at all.

I only own a PC, so I'm impartial here.

What was Bioware supposed to do? Leave in the very thing you objected to?
I guess you want Bioware to give the Xbox players the interactive comic.
Here's a better idea for new players who own an Xbox 360: Rent ME1 or buy a used disc for a few bucks, play that great game and import exactly the character you want.
They could have done that a year ago, too.

What are you talking about? The fact that PS3 players can choose their ME1 decisions? Hmmmm, the fact that ME1 can't run on PS3 has nothing to do with that....

No Thompson it's called freedom of choice, if you choose to start a new game fresh you have to be renegade.
Nobody should be forced to buy or rent another game, even if it is exceptionally good, to get the character they want.

You know, after actually reading a few published Mass Effect comics, I can't say missing out on one is a big deal. No impressed.

Yes I am getting this upset over it, it detracts from the 360 gameplay experience, it did at launch and it still does. They fixed this huge oversight on the PS3 but not on the 360.

You must be a 360 fanboy too then if that's what defines one, because as far as I know all gamers want more from their favourite games.

Mass Effect 1, just checked on eBay: Current bid -- $1.25. (American) plus $1 shipping.

Bioware, and all developers for that matter have NO integrity since they are fueled by SALES. You want the ME1 actions to mount up and make a difference on ME3? Want them to really create a full game series that impacts all the way across each title? Too bad, they just want sales across multiple consoles and a bigger profit. Fan alienation is no big deal to anyone making software, since they just want it to sell more, that's just how it works. Why should they concentrate on making ME3 the greatest sequel to the original when they can just strip it down and get in all those PS sales? Integrity!! LOL.
despite your comment on sales you should note that when people whined about the Inventory system, complex weapon upgrade system(which was oftena little confusing at least when it came to what exactly you did to the guns and armor) , generic armor models, long power cool downs, mako driving, Bland Squad mates. Combat, and asked to be able to pilot the normandy, along with the substantial lack of DLC that people claimed BW promised. They fixed it with ME 2
Which has a simplified (water downed too much) Inventory system, Decent and likable upgrade system, More Diverse classes (interms of their abilities), More loveable squad mates, less vehicle driving, and certaintly not frustrating hammerhead driving, interchangeable armor peices that can make your armor actually look different from another armor, Substantially better combat whiel trying to add an even more tactical spin on it, Piloting your ship, and a better funner mining system where the minerals actually do something. And most importantly as it was the Biggest concern of the ME 1 complainers Substantial and Epic DLC in most cases.
So when it comes to Integrity or at least respect for their fan base BW certaintly has a lot of if. In fact i'm incredibly confident in light of this that they'll fix most of the problems with ME 2 which there aren't alot frankly though i do wish i could have mako driving back that could be me. really for ME three they just need a Wider inventory and that's it as far as i'm concerned.
So yeah as far as I'm concerned they're probably the company with the most integrety out there rigth now considering they don't forget about the needs fo their ports and also supply them with what they need to fully enjoy the game too, this is hit at DICE and several other Developers/Publishers like Activisions handlign of Transformers War For Cybertron DLC which will not be coming to the PC. At least BW sticks by their fans, the people who make them the money.

I have not really been paying much attention to the PS3 version of the game but are you saying that the PS3 players will be able to choose between starting a new game based on either the renegade or paragon versions of the events in ME1? I guess that makes sense as the PS3 players cant really import a save from ME1 and thus otherwise wouldnt be able to experience the consequences of the other choices from ME1 (or lack of consequences if you will) so really if you think about it it is the PS3 players being nerfed.
What if you were new to Mass Effect and you want to start with Mass Effect 2? or you want to start a new game without importing or hassling with another runthrough to get the right mix of decisions in ME1?
Like I said it's freedom of choice or in this case the lack of it.

I'm sure it's a similar case in other european territories as well.

someone brought this up already ME 1 is cheap as balls now. i mean seriously it's like 50 dollars for both games. off of steam. typically you have to pay 50 for 1 this is sorta a double wammy for BW pay the initial Price of ME 2 get ME 1 also they should start packaging them that way for 360 and PC anyway.
Edit you can also aways buy ME 1 used from Game Stop in the US and probably canada, where most of us no doubt live, it's only liek 10 bucks for a used copy of ME 1if you can find one.
