OK. That was too harsh. Still, how can something upset you so much and leave you so unwilling to do anything about it?

My game saves are there and ready to import. What I am in opposition to is that the 360 game has a flaw which I have pointed out at launch and it has been fixed for the PS3 but not for the 360.

Not everyone is in the same position as me, not everyone can get a copy of the first mass effect, why are people not entitled to the same core gameplay experience?

The ME3 engine is not that different from the ME2 engine.

Most ports are pretty bad.

That isn't related to what I was talking about at all.

oh it's related all right

Now that's a reasonable question.

My answer to that would be this: The PS3 version is coming out one year later, and they have the considerable problem of NEVER being able to play ME1 on that type of console because of copyright issues. I'll address that more fully in a minute.

You know that 'playing' this comic will not give you a 'perfect' save for ME2 and 3. The comic only covers six choices in ME1 in the main storyline. For example, if you only play Genesis, then some of the games content will not exist, like Conrad Verner on Illium or Helena Blake on Omega.

How is it related? you think the ME3 engine is what is making this possible? I dont think it is.

That's unfortunate for PS3 players I would support them getting this content as I hope they would support the 360 community getting the comic.

Why would teh 360 community even get "the comic" - when the whole purpose of that was to fill in ME1 to most PS3 players lol

What we're all forgetting here is the fact that the big problem to be solved was: How can PS3 players get even an approximately equivalent gaming experience when Microsoft, the owner of the Xbox 360 system, owns the rights to ME1?

Assuming that the introductory comic is as well done as it appears to be, then I think Bioware has found a pretty good solution.

Compared to the injustice of leaving PS3 players with a severely truncated experience, the injustice of leaving other players who only picked u the series at ME2 with that lousy "renegade" opening isn't so great.

For the record, I despise the default opening with the council sacrificed. I've never played with anything but an imported paragon Shep for that very reason.

However, the point still remains that the problem to be solved here was to allow PS3 players a close-to-full experience when they're joining the story mid-stream. That's a very tough challenge, and I don't think Bioware deserves a pasting for coming up with a solution worthy of jealousy from people who own the game already.

Again, if this turns out to be DLC that we can all get our hands on, that would be — by far — a really good solution for all concerned.

A fair point, CRISIS1717, but your method was to bitterly attack the game developer's integrity.

If they lacked integrity, they would have left PS3 players hanging out to dry. Cheaper that way.

In addition, players are not helpless. There are options.

It's something I fell strongly about, and hey we wouldn't be gamers if we didn't rant from time to time. :P

They took the opportunity to make the PS3 release as good as it could be and this computes to them having no integrity... I fail to follow your logic here. What do you want them to do? Remake the game for PC and 360?

No...

Just give us the option of using the comic to outline our choices.

That's hardly necessary. Just buy ME1. The whole reason for the comic was that PS3 owners can't buy Me1 for their platform. ME2 owners on other platforms can. Introducing the comic to other platforms would break the need for players new to Mass effect to buy Mass Effect 1, and would hardly be in the company's best interests.

If your reason for buying Me1 is not having the money, then you can always just use the save game editor. If, however, you just simply don't want to buy it, that's hardly Bioware's fault, is it?

This about ME2 not ME1. If you had ME2 for both side by side don't tell me that the 360 doesn't seriously suffer in terms of gameplay because the choice comic is missing.

Really, bro, the comic only includes six choices, anyway.  PS3 players are missing out on a helluva lot of carry-over content, and some stupid flash comic and free DLC seems like a suitable trade-in for Microsoft refusing to let Sony get a share of ME1's publishing rights.

It's not like they're cheating you out of half of a game.  You are seriously fussing too much about this.

A 360 player that plays Mass Effect 2 from start to finish on its own will get less enjoyment than a PS3 player because of the fixed origins, FACT.

I don't want to argue irrelevant points saying "hey but we got this" or "hey but you can buy this", it's all about the Mass Effect 2 game and it's core gameplay.

Get over it you ridiculous xbot. Stop being so devoted to a friggin circuit board. You want the new features on ME2 ps3? Then friggin go buy a ps3 and stfu.

You're right. I feel screwed over as an xbox me player, even though i have a ps3. I'm not going to go out and buy the whole game again. That would be swet if pc and 360 players got something exclusive in return (don't say me1). But, they probably won't. Sad. I still remain loyal to Bioware, but i feel like the sibling that isn't the favorite. :(

Thankyou Kreeper, I am in the same situation. I have both consoles but all we want is an equal gameplay experience for both consoles, not in terms graphics or little things like that but in the core gameplay which players will get their gaming experience and enjoyment from.

Exactly.

Way too much platform elitism, insults, and name-calling in this thread. If you want to try this again without all the nastiness and insults (which includes bashing of developers or publishers), you can start a new thread. Thank you.

end of line.
