Hello DA community I need a little help please.
I know my way around the toolset and 2DAs and scripts and whatnot (but .UTC files are still kinda new to me) and can't find any tutorial on custom races. I got the tutorials for custom classes and backgrounds/bios so that helps me enormously, but custom races.... is a must for my module as these specific backgrounds tie into those custom races.
Example (this is just example, not finished product):
GENDER: Male, Female
RACES: Vampire, Human, and Werewolf
classES: (same) - Warrior, Rogue, Mage
BIO: Vampyre Noble, Vampire Spawn | Holy Paladin, Dark Slayer | Lycan Pureblood, Tainted Beast
The bios have been set with skills, names, descriptions, and all that. But editing the 2DAs to reflect the races instead of Elf, Dwarf, and Human.... now just trying to link all the stuff together. Where do I find the icons, UTC files, and anything else I might need to put it all together so it works? lol

I don't think I understand what you want to do, but utc files you open/change/create inside the toolset, if you make a module that can change the single player campaign you can open its utc files. As for races you should take a look in the apr_base.2da file.

I'm not sure anyone has made a tutorial on custom races. I've only dipped my toes in the water by reconfiguring the dwarf race as a troll race that uses the same models with slightly different abilities.
The .utc files are made by exporting creatures from the toolset.
The biggest issue you'll face is whether you can use character generation.
IIRC, the face morph tool is pretty much limited to the three standard humanoid models. The .utc files only affect initial equipment, not appearance.
It would be easy enough to have human and vampire (that looks like elf), but werewolf?
You could bypass character generation, starting with a conversation which allows the player to select their race, gender and background and set their appearance accordingly (or allow them to choose from a small set of pre-made appearances).
It's quite likely that other people know more about this issue than I do, though.
Much the process for customising races and backgrounds is documented in the backgrounds tutorial.
You'll also need to change the descriptions and icons in RACE_base.xls.
I'd recommend keeping the internal labels Dwarf, Elf and Human in the rows of RACE_base and the column headings of background.xls. The player never sees them. Changing them can break internal lookups.

the biggest drawback is that all custom races with a different apperance than human, dwarf or elf suffer from the lack of morphable faces.
