Right. L vs D just means that our stuff spins to the left and Quarian stuff spins to the right. And seeing as how humans and totally different organisms like Trilobites both have L amino acids, amino acid chirality says nothing about morphology.
http://en.wikipedia....ity_(chemistry)

At no point in the game, codex, or wiki is it ever said that Quarians are a lot like Turians.

The TL:DR version of my previous post:

The thing is, we're given no indication of what Grunt means. For example, he could mean:

1. Quarians are always inside of their environmental suits, making them "not so much" soft.
2. Quarians might have tougher, thicker skin than humans, Asari and Salarians.
3. Quarians might have a much denser muscle or bone structure beneath a soft epidermis.
4. Quarians might have a much denser muscle or bone structure beneath a tougher, thicker epidermis.
5. Quarians might have scales/armor.
6. Quarians might have an exoskeleton.
7. Quarians might have a unique adaptation with no terrestrial analog, or something not mentioned above.

Due to the lack of context and content, Grunt's comment seems completely inadmissable in the court case of Tali's Face v. The Fanbase

I really adore this picture. If we do see Tali's face at all, I want it to be along these lines.

I doubt very much it would be like that pic. Qurians have scales, and the girl in that pic doesn't have any. Plus that girl looks just like a human.

hmm i did not know they had scales O_o

Scales or no, I  just hope she doesn't look too human.  That'd be too easy.  I'd like to hope BW has more imagination than that if they decide to show her (or any other Quarian) face.

It wouldn't bother me not seeing Tali's face, but I would like to see what a quarian looks like.

Pretty much this. I hope Quarains aren't just funny colored humans, that would be very weak, imo. Also it would be wise to model Tali's face after Liz Saroka(sp). I think most fans would be fine if she looked like a more alien version of her real life voice actress.

x2.

Yeah, she, like so many ME female voice actresses are simply breathtakingly beautiful and I imagine Tali is beatuful in some fashion or another.

I think Grunt's comment is referring to the quarian suit, which makes them harder to kill than unprotected humans. This has been argued about a lot though.

The fact is that quarians are mammal analogues, with an endoskeleton (like humans).
The reverse chirality thing says nothing about their appearance. Scientists believe that human amino acid chirality was determined by chance, and that things would be much the same if we used D amino acids. L amino acids happened to be in the right place at the right time basically.

This means that quarians are not necessarily more similar to turians than they are to humans. Quarians seem closer to humans given their endoskeleton when compared to the turian exoskeleton.

I doubt that Bioware will make them too human looking, since that seems reserved for asari. And with the asari, there's the idea that they should be attractive to all species, so it fits from a lore perspective.

Then why wouldn't he take in account for humans and Turian wearing body armor? Even in one of Grunt's stories he points out that Turians are almost never without armor. Also the running joke in ME, is that all of the races know what Quarian really look like, just not the player.

I must have missed that joke.

He might not account for turian/human armor because those two races are not ALWAYS in protective suits like quarians are. It's definitely vague, but given that we KNOW that quarians are mammal-like with an endoskeleton, I find it likely that bioware was referring to the suits. It's certainly POSSIBLE that quarians are simply tougher though.

Grunt's comment can be endlessly debated because he barely said anything at all.

"Quarians, not so much."

What really could possibly be learned from that?  Nothing.

I kinda like the way they only "revealed" Tali to Shepard in ME2. My Shep saw Tali's face when he romanced her and was happy with what he saw.

The amount of hate towards a character is mind-blowing.

I'm not fond of the fanbase either guys but jesus... show some humanity.

I'm with the keep the mystery crowd. that unknown facet is one of Tali's strengths as a character really.

Plus no matter what she looks like if you do reveal her face, it will just create a huge backlash of hat mongers on the boards, so it's easiest to just avoid that all together.

Why everyone find that pic beautiful? This girl look like a  7th grader that was captured by the borg.

Plus why she has masquara?Do they really need it under a permanent helmet?Next thing you know she will have red lipstick and bottox lips.Plus i always though that the standard of beauty would be different for aliens.Oh well.
I guess they need to please those horny human.

I still endorse my "at least for those who romanced her" idea. Like I said before, what kind of guy doesn't know what his fake girlfriend looks like?

THANK YOU!!  I knew there was something off about that pic that I didn't like, I just couldn't put my finger on it!  Well, aside from the fact that she looks too human of course.

Agreed Suprez30. That tali looks a lot like the human senator that turned mutant gelatin in the first x-men movie in my opinion.

That picture circulating around forever probably has to do with suppressed pedophiliac fantasies.

Where else are you going to have obsessive "perfect in everyway" hero worshiping girls who needs to be constantly rescued eh.

That Tali pic is awful - why is her face so small and her neck so long?? Anatomy lessons before photoshop please.

Anyway - on topic, she will probably have to be mortally wounded to reveal her face in game before dying. Even if they save the Quarian homeworld it will have changed a lot since they left. Tragic to some, but likely in a finale style plot. The other option is for some convinient clean environment room to exist, which seems like a stretch to write it in purely for that reason.

Idea: Wouldnt they look like the geth? They were made before the enviro suits, and the other features like hands etc mirror their own... they seem to have 2 eyes, but what about those mandibles? :P

She looks of age to me.  Petite != Underage.
She most certainly  looks older than 12, like one person has exagerated.

The artist is looking with what he has to work with -- in game, Tali has a rediculously long neck and a proportionally smaller head than a normal human, unless she has a super slight lower jaw/chin, as has already been pointed out in the thread.  I mean, you could get super technical and criticize her eyes being too far apart , etc, and so on.

Clearly, her not being human at all means that she can differ significantly from normal human body proportions.

...............................
Not that I particularly like that picture as Tali.  But let's criticize it for legitmate reasons (i.e. the space-elfness, too-humanness).

I don't get this either, why is Tali in this pic a Human in quarian suit? Whoever draw this, did not even try to make her look a little alien.

I'm not a talimancer either, I am a femshep. But I do think of her as Shepards little sister. I would love to see her face, just out of curiosity.
