Or...

Miranda: Shepard, we now have access to the Reaper gene machine. What do you want to do with it.

A: Destroy it
B: Salvage it
C: Call Tali

Shepard: I pick C. Tali! Bring the Migrant fleet here. I have a few modifications to give to the Quarian race.

Tali: Shepa...

Shepard: Call me God.

The inherint argument is that BioWare can't live up to a fans own imagination.

Who cares? No really...If Bio had a face design for quarians made when creating them, then why should it even matter? ME does not belong to the fans. As a intelectual property it belongs to those that created it. Sure, some fans might be dissapointed because it doesn't match their own image.. so what?
Life is full of dissapointments. I bet a lot of us had ideas of what ME1 story will be like..or ME2. Tons of little details we had in our heads, that never came to be.

Clench your teeth and move on you wuss!

i feel as though a mystery is a bad excuse to not reveal a characters face...it feels a little unfair that just because there are those who have a perfect mental image of something that it suddenly becomes better to not show something at all...if this is the case why should any mystery be shown at all i mean its obvious if one mystery is better in ones own mind all mystery's must also be more also right?

no..don't get me wrong there are mystery's best left unsolved but only when there's a good reason...i mean technically tali had a reason at a time but the fact that she has already shown her face to shepard which would make all reasons to not do so moot...if someone doesn't want to see the face then they don't have to look and its there own fault that they need to believe that there's some perfect about her look...

but that's just my opinion...in the end its still biowares decision but i really hope they do reveal her face.

They're going to show it. It's the end of the Shepard trilogy, they've been keeping everything Quarian a secret. It's time to have the big reveal, and it'll be epic and another reason why ME3 will be game of the year in 2011.

Oh and to be honest, all Tali's face has to be is a generic pretty girl (standard of beauty around the world is pretty similar) with a few cute alien features and the majority of the Tali fan base will be more than satisfied.

As I said, best to show her face now and get it over and done with.  People will cry, rants will be made, vengeance sworn, but it will eventually die down as people realise that it is done now before it gets boring.  If they don't show her face, we will have threads like these for years to come, and every Mass Effect game produced will have "Will we see what Quarians look like in this one?" threads and debates.  'Artists' will continue to draw up fanpics of Night-Elf Tali doing horrific things with engineering tools.  Debates on their physiology and why one poster's theory is obviously correct over anothr's because they make Tali look like a Night-Elf...  Do you really want that?  Do you??  For the love of all that is squishy, don't doom us to that fate!! :crying:

I just wanted to quote this for all the Tali haters, because it's very true.

If her face is revealed, we'll have at most a few months of some people with stupid expectations being upset, and then you will never hear about it again, and people can move on with other aspects of Mass Effect.

Not showing her face will drive those people into overdrive and they won't stop until another game which reveals the Quarians is released, and that could be years and years down the pipeline. Imagine Talimancers effecting every ME game for the next 5 years. Do you want that?

It makes logical sense to reveal her face. They've teased for two games, and now they'll show it, and that will be the end of it. We don't want to drag this out in a decade long saga. It's not healthy for the franchise or the playerbase.

And for all you "keep it a mystery" people. Honestly, most of your "imaginations" of Tali fit somewhere along the line of generic beauty. There are some of you that honestly want Tali to look like Predators, but those are generally the outliers. If Tali turns out to be a generic pretty girl, with a few cute alien features like I said before, most people will be happy.

I can't state this enough. "Keeping it a mystery" is a horrible, horrible idea, not just for ME3, but for future ME games.

One thing to point out is that at least, potentially, we may see more than Tali's face revealed. This is an incredibly speculative post, but take it for what it is. It's fair to assume the ending of ME3 will involve possible cinematic events far into the future - in Tali's Loyalty mission at the Migrant Fleet, it was implied that over generations it would be possible to survive once again on their homeworld. Whether or not you chose to go to war may affect that possibility as well. Again, this is just speculation - what I'm saying is there might be a more justified way to see what a quarian looks like, not just another "The world is about to be saved, let's do it!" moment.

I dont think we should just talk about Tali. Tali is a member of an entire race of people. For that reason alone we should see her face...or at least another Quarian's face.

I think this would be wonderful. Seeing all of the Quarians without their suits in the distant future after returning to their homeworld would be a great way to close out that story arch.

There's a bunch of other parts of the story that can work their way out that way, as well. I can think of various ways to show the Krogans after the genophage has been cured.

I don't see why not. The helmet might be part of Tali's character in some way, but mystery isn't. She's not V from V for Vendetta.

Haha I never thought of that, yeah I never really got the "mysterious" vibe from her. More the "friendly, peppy" vibe. That's why I get kinda confused when all these people come out with these "KEEP THE MYSTERY" ideas. She doesn't keep the mask on to make a statement, in fact she would rather NOT have the mask on.

For me having Tali with the helmet on allows me to have my own mental picture of what she looks like.

Take off the helmet, and now she is defined where there can be an "oh" moment, such as:
  • :) so that's how Tali looks like!
  • huh, so that's what she looks like. <_<
  • not what I expected...
Thus keep the allure of the unknown or "mystery". :D

Casey, Mac and the rest of the team will make the final ruling, but I hope they don't.

Why not? Well, I like the mystery of not knowing. As soon as you see it, it takes away that mystery. Some people assume Tali is a pretty looking, almost human crature. Others assume she is more alien. Once that choice is made for you by the team, then it is set and cannot be changed.

For me, it is like when one of my favorite books gets made into a movie. No matter how good the actors may be, how well they read the lines, how suitable they actually are to play the role, they never quite live up to the mental picture I have created after years of loving the book.

Still, as I said, it isn't up to me, so we'll see what happens in ME3.

They went to the trouble of having a separate silhouette for male and female quarian heads demonstrating their severe sexual dimorphism. If they were all identical one might just say there is a default human model underneath as a "placeholder", but a new separate placeholder exists for the males so it seems a bit deliberate to me. Quarian women have humanish features and the males have a more gorilla (or koala) like features.  This has already been established.  No take backs.

I want to, but at the same time I kinda don't..

I don't know, I just want to see a Quarian in general.. Tali might not be the best idea though...

I really think the best option would be to leave it up to the player.

That being said, day 1 of ME3 will have Tali's face all of the internet.

Still, storywise, I think that would be the best decision.

I’d like to see her face I’m hoping if/when we take back/negotiate Rannoch we’ll see her suit free then sense she can breathe that world’s air in fine. I guess if they don’t show her and we get another romance scene with her they can’ avoid her face but show artistically portrayed portions of her body as the suit is being removed like Shep carefully and lovingly removing her glovers so you see her arm from the elbow down, then maybe a lower back or mid section shot before they go to after happy times conversations or something. If I can’t see her I’d like to see her skin tone and if she does or doesn’t have hair hidden under her veil.

EDIT: I'd also like to know why the Quarians have glowing eyes and the Geth have lampheads. I want to know if they're like the Riddick species of the world and by that I mean a species made to thrive in near to total dark worlds if Rannoch turns out to be a 10 month out of 12 dark world that'd be kind of neat would also explain why the Quarians build in mountains and underground to keep out of the blinding 2 month day cycle. Hopefully BW comes up with a neat homeworld and reason for the glowing features both these species share.

I will mention it again.

Quarians faces have no chins, there helmets are only half the height of a human face, but still the same width.

they cant make a human type face attractive to those dimensions.

She could be a lizard.. or a kitty. or anything.

1.They are surpose to be hard.

2.All Quarians have a slight almost lisp...... like they have forked tongues.

3.Quarian homeworld was hot and dry.

Which is why I think she is lizard like.
