just wondering, I think all of us are curious about how she looks, I got so disapointed when I did Romance with her on ME2 and I saw nothing! :(

Shepard saw her.  It's just that you the player didn't.

:P

But seriously, I hope we do see her and that though beautiful I hope BW don't go the easy route and make her face look too humanoid.

Even though I really like her character and one of my malesheps cheated on Ash to be with her instead I got the feeling we the player will only see her face upon her death when her mask is blown off or something in the preocess.  I  will be genuinely sad if/when that happens but to add to the already dire sense of tragedy in the game with Earth losing 9 million people in London alone let alone the rest of the planet (hundreds if not a few billion in total the "first week" I'm guressing) but overall I got the feeling even though you could get everyone through the SM  in ME2 that ME3 will have a high price in squad members no matter what in ME3.  I  don't see how it could go any other way what with a full blown Reaper invasion, not just one like in ME or their minions and one "fetus Reaper" in ME2.

I will mention it again.

Quarians faces have no chins, there helmets are only half the height of a human face, but still the same width.

they cant make a human type face attractive to those dimensions.

She could be a lizard.. or a kitty. or anything.

1.They are surpose to be hard.
2.All Quarians have a slight almost lisp...... like they have forked tongues.
3.Quarian homeworld was hot and dry.
Which is why I think she is lizard like.

Africa is hot and dry, do humans there look like lizards? The face that fans have extracted from the model seem to be placeholder. I doubt much dev time would have gotten in a part of the face that wouldnt be seen apart from a highlight in specific light conditions. I wouldnt take anything modeled from ME1-ME2 as proof.

I flat out GUARANTEE that we will see Tali's face in ME3, and she won't be ugly. Take it to the bank and start earning interest.

They won't show it.

For every one person that says they want to see it, another person knows that showing the face won't make anyone happy.  They'll show it and everyone will be disappointed and then go around crying about how Bioware screwed up.

And if they don't show it they'll still go around crying about how Bioware screwed up.

Take the momentum while it's high and curiosity is high and show it. If they don't show her face in ME3 they'll have lost that momentum.

EDIT: I'd also like to know why the Quarians have glowing eyes and the Geth have lampheads. I want to know if they're like the Riddick species of the world and by that I mean a species made to thrive in near to total dark worlds if Rannoch turns out to be a 10 month out of 12 dark world that'd be kind of neat would also explain why the Quarians build in mountains and underground to keep out of the blinding 2 month day cycle. Hopefully BW comes up with a neat homeworld and reason for the glowing features both these species share.

Riddick's eyes were surgically altered ("shined") to see better in the dark.  That isn't the natural state of Furyan eyes.

Developers said quarians evolved from a koala-like mammalian analogue.

They are going to definitely say they screwed up if they don't.  EVERYONE wants to see her face, even they people claiming they don't.  Not a single person in the entire world would opt to not see her face if it was an optional decision in-game. Not a single one.  But seeing what they did with the Morrigan DLC (claiming it would conclude the story, but appearently only if you romanced her, and in the process making Morrigan romances canon. Yes, canon. I said it.) we see they are quite comfortable with screwing up.

Beautiful! art and totally plausible that she looks like so :)
I really wanted to see Tali face in ME2. Then the romance scene came and it was like a hit in the stomach for me. WTF!!
The more they hide it the more I want it to see. If they don't show it I will be royally pissed .

I agree. This fan art is amazing. In fact. It's so amazing, it just became my desktop pircture.

I kinda want to see what quarians look like, but in other ways I don't because I agree with Chris.

When I think "Quarian" I think of a soft, gentle people. According to their history and what you learn from others, who are old enough to remember what they look like under the masks, quarians were artists and musicians. They were gentle souls who didn't/don't have a lust for battle and lacked a strong military structure.

So when I think of this, I don't see something scaly or something with sharp teeth and sharp angles to their design. I think of something softer, maybe like a mix between an asari and a slarian. Something with soft curves and a bit of a thick skin due to their lack of a true immune system, and probably pale colors, maybe a lightly tanned skin.

The inherint argument is that BioWare can't live up to a fans own imagination.

Who cares? No really...If Bio had a face design for quarians made when creating them, then why should it even matter? ME does not belong to the fans. As a intelectual property it belongs to those that created it. Sure, some fans might be dissapointed because it doesn't match their own image.. so what?
Life is full of dissapointments. I bet a lot of us had ideas of what ME1 story will be like..or ME2. Tons of little details we had in our heads, that never came to be.

Clench your teeth and move on you wuss!

Ähem, ... so I am a wuss? For what? I beg you to explain what reason you have to call me that!

Did I insult you? No, I can't see in the slightest how I could have done so.
Did I insult something you believe in? No, I just logically, emphatically presented my take on the whole issue.

So I no longer have the right to express my opinions, which does totally justify you calling me a wuss, or what?

Don't you come at me with your petty little "Get over it!" attitude. I was having a discussion. One forumite asked and I presented an answer. Is that a reason to insult me personally?!

My dear Lotion Soronnar, if you can't argument with me on a logical, non-insulting, argument-based level, I expect as much civility for you to just keep your mouth shot, your fingers tight to your body and this utter nonsense about people being wusses who don't share your opinion to yourself and go along.

I am a very forthcoming person. I am friendly and I respect other peoples opinions, ... and I expect other people to at least behave in a way that somehow just resembles civility, but every now and then people like YOU come my way and do things like this and show how unrealistic even these expectations are.

Thank you for your opinion. But there are still a lot of people who prefer space elves,so? What's next?

Do you really think that you are so special that Bioware should listen to your opinion only?... The answer is -no...One more reason why Bioware should keep Tali's face a mystery.

Sorry, but seriously....you argument is absolutely illogical and makes no sense...

You will never see Master chief's face, but million of people still buy and play this game.Becides, some people can say the same thing about multiplayer mode for ME3 for example.

Like: "No MP mode is a horrible, horrible idea, not just for ME3, but for future ME games. Because all modern games have MP mode..." So, what's next? We had no myltiplayer in ME1-2 and there will be no MP for ME3 but we will buy this game anyway. We have't got a chance to see Tali's face in ME1-2,but we will buy ME3 anyway and we will enoy it.

Casey, Mac and the rest of the team will make the final ruling, but I hope they don't.

Why not? Well, I like the mystery of not knowing. As soon as you see it, it takes away that mystery. Some people assume Tali is a pretty looking, almost human crature. Others assume she is more alien. Once that choice is made for you by the team, then it is set and cannot be changed.

For me, it is like when one of my favorite books gets made into a movie. No matter how good the actors may be, how well they read the lines, how suitable they actually are to play the role, they never quite live up to the mental picture I have created after years of loving the book.

Still, as I said, it isn't up to me, so we'll see what happens in ME3.

Gameplay wise it's an easy decision to make imho:

Will there be an animated love scene between Shepard and Tali?

a) YES --> The team should decide whether it helps creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere if Tali keeps her visor on. Which is - in my opinion - not the case. It's like these american movies where the famale actors, when sitting up in the morning, tie up the sheets to cover their body, like it's something that should be hidden. It's unnatural...typical american I guess. Or like these love scenes in ME2...fully clothed...heavy petting I guess. Ooops. :P

Bioware is canadian, please be different. ;)

B) NO --> No need to show Talis face, because the background is already very solid on that. She takes her helmet off she might die. So she doesn't.

Simple. =]

As to why the wuss thing - because quite a few fans are afraid that their perfect little bubble image might pop. That their virtual romance might not be what they imagined.
Preconceptions and fantasies get shattered every day. It's a simple fact that one should accept and move on. Also, games are a visual medium. Show, not tell.

there is no reason to keep quarian apperance a mystery, other than to protect the frail mental image of a few people. And that is not a valid argument to do anything, ever.

There is no such thing like the "real quarian's face"...It's just a fiction. We have't got a chance to see Tali's face only because-You are Shepard and he saw the face that you created in your imagination. That was the main idea...There's nothing wrong with it. It means =Your version of her face is more important for You and Your Shepard than Bioware's version.

That's why he smiled.Because you think, that she looks great in her own unique way.

But:

Okay, it's just that I tend to take it serious if someone disrupts a discussion with insults, to whomever they were pointed at (but especially when I think they were pointed at me Image IPB ).

However, I'd like to turn your argumentation around. You say there is no real reason to keep her face a mystery. Well, per definition, imagination is not real and therefore you have a point.

On the other hand though, is there a real reason to show (specifically) her face other than to please the other part of the community?

We are in an argumental deadlock. That is why I personally prefer to just take the intermediate step and show a male quarian's face, to give us both the image of a typical quarian as imagined by BioWare, aswell as to leave room for personal, imaginative tweaking concerning female faces and therefore Tali's too.

It seems my idea is getting little attention as all I see is people argueing about showing her face or not. I actually think my take on this might prove acceptable for everyone.

What do you think (and everyone else for that matter) ?

I think the whole "they should leave her face hidden" is ridiculous.

Its pretty much guaranteed that they will show what quarians look like in ME3, because it just wouldnt make sense to have an entire trilogy where you essentially don't know what one of the most popular races look like. I can understand leaving the volus in their suits, cuz no one really cares about them lets be honest, but Quarians? no way.

So that pretty much leaves two options in my mind, either they'll do this as a reward for somehow getting quarians back to their homeworld, where you see happy quarians finally removing their face mask w/e

or with a love scene with Tali.

Either way, I think the best compromise would be for the dev team to show what other quarians look like, but not tali , that is if they really dont want to show her face.

Personally, (and im no die hard tali fan) I would really like to know what she looks like, but I'm pretty sure most people would settle for knowing that quarians at least don't look like Chtulu under that mask.

P.S.- Anyone kinda get the vibe that there was an (un?)intenional comparison to Quarians with old school middle eastern marriages? you know with the whole "You dont know what she looks like until you get her in bed after you make a commitment" kinda like how with tali Shep (at least in game) doesn't get to actually know what she looks like until he commits to her.

But yea, I wouldnt worry about tali being ome horrible monster, considering that humans find certain physical traits attractive, its unlikely Shep would smile at Tali's looks unless she were at least cute.
