Words can be so over used that they loose any form of meaning and are still subjective with out a concrete example of intention. 9/11, terrorist, terrorism were so over used by the Bush administration that they lost any relevance to what was actually happeneing in the world. It is like a bad smell that will not go away sooner or later you just get used to it, it is why people can live in Houston.
Now dirtier, grittier and sexier are words bandied about with reckless abandon all like the Bush administration to keep the sheep on point, so that they could really mean ANYTHING in the context of what a NEW game has in store for the players.
It all depends on how far Bioware is willing to go to make those words matter. Are we going to see horses pissing in street (Dead Man with Johnny Depp), are we going to see hookers flashing thier breasts from balconys at passer bys to entice them to come upstairs and play motorboat? How gritty do they intend to potray life or death, as an adult who has many years of ER experience i can assure it is not all roses. How many of you folks really understand the depth to which poop plays in your life and death? What they do not tell you on TV is that you were born in poop (yes i have assisted in baby deliveries) and you will die in poop (i have held the hands of dying strangers as they passed more than just from the mortal coil). Every moment between is an illusion where you literally spend a life time avoiding the inevitable conclusion which will be a load in your pants. That is grity, that is dirty that is reality, those words have a different meaning to me. I also have different life experiences as well it does not make me any better than anyone else but it does alter my perspective on alot of things.
So i guess it is time to hold feet to the fire and say; just how far into the realm of dirtier, grittier and sexier do you intend to go Bioware or is this just a revamped version or 9/11, terrorist, terrorism to keep the sheep on point?

Definitely true, as a single description. Not much sexy 'bout the wire.Piecake wrote...
Yea, now that i think on it, you are right. I think i was probably ignoring the grittier part since when i hear the line of "darker, grittier, sexier" I tend to think of it as a whole, and i think that line's sentiments fits shows like The Shiled more than The Wire
I've actually thought of a number of grittier things now. Ken Loach films, for example tend to be "unflinching portrayals" that might as well see him run sand through a projector.
Cant say I have seen anything by him, and your description doesnt instill me with a whole lot of interest
Well, sometimes I think that elitist hipster scum like me say we like "tough" films like Loach's just to prove that we're different from people who like Hollywood films. But I honestly did like Raining Stones before I knew any of the politics behind such choices.
