I'm on the verge of shooing Leliana off because I've decided this romance doesn't go well with my char and feels too much like metaplaying. The only thing that can change my mind right now is the Marjorie mission, which I haven't done yet, and so have a question: is there a point past which a romance can't be wriggled out of, in case I decide I don't want her using my toothpaste in the morning after all?
[and no, I don't think any Thedosian denomination would marry her and my pretty elven girl so please spare me THOSE remarks]
Cutting a romance short?

You can tell any romance that you want to call it off at any time after starting it. And you get a selection of reasons why to boot.

Yep. You can either tell them 'it's over' or you can kick them out of the party altogether. Really is your choice. After that you can even start up another romance, assuming you haven't already told the other potential romances that you want to stay 'just friends'. Just beware that once you cut someone off, the romance can't be rekindled.

With Leliana (And Zevran probably too) you can also tell her to go because you want her to be safe, in which she will leave the party on good terms, though she might be a little saddened.
Alistair and Morrigan likely don't get that option since they're mandatory party members. With the "it's over" option it's a nice touch that they will try to argue with you about it.

Actually I believe you can kick Morrigan out. I once almost accidentally did while talking to her on my first playthrough. I'd imagine that she then turns up at Redcliffe to make her deal regardless.

Allistair actually can be ditched, but not till late in the game.

That's right. I forgot about that part of her "personal question" dialogue line.

Yeah, but Alistair sticks around no matter what until the Landsmeet.
I foresee a lot of awkward campfire conversations.

Good to know, cheers. And no, Morrigan better stay where she is - being the party's CC mage is a contract for life
Alistair is problematic though, because I've resolved to swap him for [spoiler] a long time ago (thanks to The Stolen Throne) and now I'm having a hard time trying not to like him. I'll just try to imagine his feet smell <_<

I just got the landsmeet to crown Anora. Alistair and I are going to go be Gray Wardens. But who knows what the paper will say. it's a bit like the national enquirer with drunk readers.
