I've just recently gotten back into Mass Effect and wanted my decisions to start from scratch, so I loaded up an old save and beat the game. When I went to import my ME1 character to start ME2, it was grayed out but my old character (where I made all the poor decisions) was there. I did transfer all my save files some time ago to a new HDD, but I've read online and done the "load a previous save and beat Saren again" technique at least five times now. All it keeps doing is adding another grayed out clone of the file I'm trying to import. I have the ability to Use Existing ID when I start a new game in ME1, and I've also tried reloading a save mid way through the fight, before the fight, clearing the cache, starting a NG+ saving and reloading the fight save, and restarting the xbox. Nothing. Any help? I want the Mass Effect series to play out the way I want it to ie; who lived/who died, who's done what etc. and not the way Bioware defaults it if you don't import a save. Suggestions?

THE FREAKING D-PAD. IT SELECTS THE SAVE FILE, NOT THE STICKS. Unbelievable.
