It would be the definitive version, considering they had a chance to improve it. It's probably just little things they fixed that make it feel right.

It sucks, but it doesn't mean they only care about the PS3 now.

the new rendering sounds nice. Jade Empire Special Edition got dozens of upgrades, tweaks and exclusive features when they made it for PC. no need to get all uppity because they are improving the quality of their products.

But if it is like Jade Empire why shouldn't PC or 360 gamers get the same such list of improvements down the road in a "gold edition" or whatever.

That never happened with Jade Empire. JE was released for xbox initially in 2005, then the SE was released on PC in 2007, with a ton of new features and tweaks, exclusive content and improved graphics and enemy AI. All the bells and whistles you would expect from a Special Edition that was released 1-2 years after the original.

The exclusive content that the Special edition contained for PC was and has never been made available for the Xbox. There is no gold edition. What Bioware has done here is simply improve where they were able to improve, they are not giving the PS3 version a fraction of the exclusive content the JE SE got. Like I said, this is a company proving their commitment to quality, I would think LESS of Bioware if they had the opportunity to make improvements and chose not to.

I own both systems and thus pre-ordered ME2 on PS3 today. Bought ME1&2 the day they came out. And will buy ME3 on both systems. I think this is a great move. It opens them to a new audience. I know many ppl who only own a PS3,(No 360 No PC) and next week will be able to play ME for the first time.

I'm baffled why people who have ME2 on 360/PC are getting it on PS3 as well

I haven't finished my cpu yet. It's not ready for gaming. I have it on 360,& the graphics will be better on PS3. That's enough not to mention the single Blu-ray disc. The superior PS3 to the 360, and my sad gamer level of like 3 on PS3,compared to my 36,400 gamerscore on live.

Because it is the superior version.  Also because I only have the Kasumi DLC.  PS3 don't get ME1 but that's what ME1 on my 360 is for.

As am I. Better graphics and an interactive comic to take the place of ME1 just wouldn't be enough for me to justify buying it twice.

I should probably admit that this thread was born of paranoia.  I've always had faith that Bioware would make sure both 360/PC players and PS3 players would get an amazing experience with both ME2 and ME3, and that neither would miss out on anything or get anything the other wouldn't.  I don't know what came over me, and I would like to take this chance to publicly apologize to the fine folks at Bioware.

Let's see how many copies BioWare sells on that system. Who the heck owns a PS3?

Superior how? IGN even said the cutscenes look "slightly" better on the PS3, and the gameplay visuals look almost nothing different from each other.

Instead of paying $60 for the game and DLC...you could just buy the DLC for $17....

I've got the PC version of Mass Effect 1 & 2 and i'm getting Mass Effect 3 on PC as well. But i still would like to get the PS3 version as it is essentially the most refined version of Mass Effect 2! i don't think the graphics are going to top someone with a high end PC though.

Way to contradict yourself. Slightly better is still superior.

Iam so happy that the best game on the system i owned , and spent tons of money for dlc  on is getting realsed on another system played by people i dont praticulary like as a hole, only they get every thign i payed extra , for free, and it looks like the company would of willingly sold my soul to, dosent give a **** about me any more<_<

iam sorry but the "Be happy others get to play it" sentiment dosent wrok for me especaily since the Ps3 fanboys were nothign but ass holes about  DMC4 and FF13,

Yea you're right, it's such a huge deal. Enough to warrant another $60 for some touched up cutscenes.

There's nothing wrong with the 360 graphics, though. In fact, they're fantastic; the PS3 graphics are just even better. I think people just don't get the rationale behind spending so much money on something you already own when there's nothing wrong with the one you have.

I guess if you're into comics....

It's 15 minutes long and has 6 choices in it, while the other dozens of choices you make are default...I'd rather play through and experience the excellence of ME1 than a 15 minute comic of the game, personally.

This 100%. I play on 360 and I don't care at all that PC players can create saves and PS3 players have this stupid comic. If I'm going to create a new Shepard, he's going to play through all of the games.

Of course it's called the definitive version. Quite frankly, it is. It's the final version of ME2. And it's a marketing ploy too, they want to sell the game, don't they?

Only thing that would make me a sad panda if there were some major changes, like being able to pick up all squadmembers from the beginning, instead of the game being cut in half. But I don't think that is going to happen, they could've done that with the PC-version already. That, and BioWare can expect two thirds of their fanbase in rage if that happens. Look at what's happening now already with this graphical update. :P

But NOT turn this into another console war people. PS3 is a good system, just like Xbox 360, and if I had the money I would have one too.

Do we need to care? It's not like they changed anything in the game. It's still Mass Effect game we were enjoying for several years by now. If they get adjusted graphics and controls, then let them enjoy it.

The epic fail will be if Bioware fixed all the problems with importing a savegame (I know that they can't do it, but they have a comic of some sort for this). And IF due to some reason, they will get our Citadel Fan acting properly in PS3 version, then this will be sad moment.

Otherwise I don't see how any multi-console game can have different game experience in any way. And thus such claims are pointless and correspond to fan-war rather than actual game discussion.

The PC version of ME 1 came out quite a bit after it did on 360. It featured vastly improved load times, NO texture pop in, different mini games, fixed the Normandy elevator (on 360 it took damned near as long as citadel elevators even though it was only moving down one floor), and a host of other improvements. Was there as much crying about as all this nonsense about the PS3 version?

Not improving things they had the chance to fix during the port would be moronic. Getting mad about these fixes is equally moronic.
