So just how long is BG1? I'm already at chapter 4 and I'd say I've only spent max 25 hours on it. Is it not as long as Dragon Age?

Much, if not most, of the content of this series is extrinsic to the core plot. If you concentrate solely on finishing, BG1 won't take as long as tackling DA:O's campaign, no.

igneous.sponge covered it. The game is divided into seven chapters. The last two are fairly brief, however. The Baldur's Gate series is very short if you trample through the main plot. If you do all the side quests and thoroughly explore every location, BG1 is still shorter than Origins. BG2 with ToB is at least as long, if not lengthier still.

Fully exploring each map in BG1 + TotSC (and Durlag's Tower in particular, if you go without spoilers) will easily and vastly exceed Dragon Age.
Then BG2 is just crazy long.
