Probably by using the fact that the developers don't check every condition for every interaction with NPCs. Toggling Shepard's sex after "locking in" the romance option should do it.

[Remember the good old BG days? Back then they used flags set on character creation to check if characters are are romance option - CheckNameMatch]

Why do peope always want to find out about same sex relationships in this game?

I haven't got anything against the op or anyone for that matter, but just say it's so common of a question

Because it is discriminating to have no gay/lesbian relationships in Mass Effect.

It is ashaming for Shepard to state that he/she is gay/lesbian. He is a given a character who is straight. Not a freeley shaped character like the Warden in DA:O. So forcing Shepard to be in a homosexual relationship would be ashaming.
Blah, blah, etc, etc.

It would be discriminating to have no romance with the Big Ben itself in ME3.
Support Big Ben romance! That's one fine clock.

According to Bioware Liara isn't female.

And according to the codex, asari are monogendered, not no-gendered. Bioware is putting up an extremely flimsy excuse to deter complainers. In any case, regardless of the asari's state of biology, their physical similarity to human females means that a female Shepard would pretty much have to be attracted to women to be attracted to Liara.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and talks like a duck, it's probably a duck.  But technically Liara is an alien and they all look alike so technically since Liara is an alien and they don't use sex to have little aliens it's not F/F romance.  Technically such a nice word.

Given that Asari are the child-bearing part in any but asari+asari relationships, and female is usually the gender defined by biologists as the egg-laying/child-bearing part of a species, I'd say that asari's are "female". especially since while capable of cross-species pregancies, they are incapable of impregnating other species.

Not that I care. Liara being Liara, I'd pick her as an LI even if playing Legion^^

That's quite funny - since the codex explicitly states "An all-female race, the asari reproduce through a form of parthenogenesis." I guess, looking up the facts is overrated.

They only said that to prevent a gay male uprising.

Asari are mono-gendered, they are female. It's proven in LOTSB.

While it would be good to have homosexual options for those who want it, I think it is highly probable that a large proportion if not the largest of those requesting same-sex romances come from straight men playing femSheps hoping to see some girl on girl action...

It's possible, but if they're asking for male/male pairings as well, at least they're being fair about it.

I didn't say I agreed with that statement. It's pretty obvious their female, probably should have said that, I was just saying what Bioware's position on it was.
