Completed Origins with 2 characters so far (human mage and city elf rogue) and Awakening with one (a new Orlesian dwarven warrior). Have one character left to complete Origins (a dalish warrior) - did also have a dwarven commoner but deleted that after completing the origin as I don't think I can face more than 3 playthroughs (considering how much of the game time is spent listening to the same dialogue).

I've only finished the game twice. Made plenty of characters over the year I've had DA:O but they usually get deleted because i get bored or they suck. Also finished Awakening twice. The characters i have at the end of awakening (or near the end since i accidental deleted my HN save in the mothers lair) are a Human Noble Shield Warrior (Champion/Templar/Guardian) and a Dwarf Noble Dual wield Rogue (Bard/Assassin/Shadow). Both wardens are male.

Finished DAO, DAA and all the DLCs with a male human noble S&S (Champion/Templar/Spirit Warrior), romanced Leli, Ali+Anora on the throne, no DR, Loghain sacrifice.

Just started a female human mage playthrough (at least of DAO). Fun. She's sexy too, even if I say so myself :P

I've finished the game three times, 1. human mage, 2. human noble warrior 3. human noble rogue.

The rogue definitely was the most interesting and versatile for me, it gives you quite a few additional quest opportunities (slim couldry) etc.

Finished the game around 40 times by now and I'm still playing around with combinations of different choices but there are some things I always do:

Never played a dwarf.
Was a noble only once.
I never play male characters (at least not in DAO or ME)

Maybe 2 - 3 playthroughs as a City Elf
Started a Dalish Origin but never finished it.

I'm always a mage elf.

Choices I always pick:

leave Sten in the cage and refuse to recruit Leliana
I'm hiring Ser Gilmore (in Lothering (mod)) instead
killing Zevran
recruiting Wynne and Shale

I never use Oghren in my party

respeccing Alistair, Ser Gilmore and Cullen as dual wielders

I'm always a blood mage.

Saving the mages but handing them over to the templars to be able to recruit Cullen (modded)

Defending Redcliffe with all people alive, let Jowan perform the ritual to kill Isolde
conscripting Jowan for the Grey Wardens after healing Arl Eamon (modded), turning him into a Maleficar/Spirit Healer/Battle Mage over time

always destroying the Anvil and killing Branka
Bhelen is always king

killing Loghain, turning down Alistair when he gets too chummy
romancing Jowan

hardening Alistair and putting him on the throne as solely ruler
giving the Circle of Magi their indipendence, leaving the Grey Warden to travel the land and settling down with my LI in the end

40 times and that many choices the same? Including missing out on characters? Variety is the spice of life you knowImage IPB

I'm on second playthrough. My Amell (F, romancing Leli and Zev) is midway through the Dalish treaty quest, my Tabris (F, romancing Alistair) is just finished with Lothering, my Mahariel (M, plan to romance Morrigan) is at Ostagar as are my Brosca (M, no idea) and Aeducan (F, no idea). Each of my first four playthroughs will have different romances and endings (already done the Leliana and Loghain Redemption for my MCousland initial canon run through).

Twice so far.

Aborted attempt due to insufficient saves - human female warrior.  Had not made any major decisions at that point.

1.  City Elf warrior female.  Sacrificed Isolde, preserved the ashes, helped the templars, cured the werewolves, destroyed the anvil, crowned Harrowmont, did the Dark Ritual, killed Loghain, crowned Alistair, and married him to Anora romanced Zevran.

2.   Human mage male.  Helped Jowan, sacrificed Isolde, defiled the ashes, saved the mages, helped the werewolves, saved the anvil, crowned Bhelan, spared Loghain, crowned Anora, sacrificed himself.  Romanced Morrigan and Zevran and ditched Zev for Morrigan

3..  Current game.  Human female rogue,  No major decisions yet  as I just got to the Circle Tower last night but I plan to save Connor, preserve the ashes, save the mages, cure the werewolves, crown Harrowmont, do the Dark Ritual, romance Alistair and possibly Zevran (and ultimately marry Alistair)

I have also completed the follow Origins stories but not progressed beyond Ostagar:

Dalish Elf
Dwarf noble

Not done dwarf commoner yet but that will perhaps be my next character.,  I want to play them all completely so I can do the things I've not done yet such as sacrifice Alistair and Loghain, romance Leliana, kill Connor.   I also want to try same sex party members throughout the game where possible.  .

I would like Cailan and Teagan to be romance options.

I rather see DAO as something as a favorite interactive movie I just can't get enough of. :) Just like watching LotR or Predator over and over. Aside from being able to change the "movie's" story - where and when I want to and I really don't want to change so many things anyway. You can't make any choices in shooters which I usually prefer to play but just having the possibilty to do so doesn't mean that someone (like me) really wants to. :)

Only once so far with a Dwarf Commoner DW Warrior. Had a Blast!

Going to go with an Elf Mage second time and try to make all the Decisions differently to see what happens.

Muzzow - I'm curious - since you must be so well acquainted with them by now, how fully integrated into the game are Sir Gilmore, Jowan and Cullen? Do they have as much dialogue as regular companions? Personal quests? Approval points? Romance options? Are they voiced?

Fair enough, each to their own, but think of all the shiny BioWare writing you're missing out on!Image IPB

The companions are fully integrated into the storyline - without changing the game's lore. They have additional slideshow endings without changing the original endings in any way. Some vanilla companions react to their presence with approval/disapproval while others ignore them. They don't have party banter but Jowan and Cullen are reacting to each other as well and that's why I always have the templar in my party as well. Just because it's so funny to annoy him with my maleficar romance. XD

They have 12000 words dialogues each (aside from Ser Gilmore because there's another huge mod solely for him available - and it's compatible with Karmas Origins Companions). In fact, they have more dialogues than the original companions though I'm only focused on Jowan and Cullen and don't talk that much to Gorim or Ser Gilmore.

They have personal quests, Cullen has even two quests. And they have personal gifts as well. They approve and disapprove of certain decisions as well; just like the vanilla characters. Alistair, Morrigan and Wynne will react more or less harshly if you conscript Jowan and Cullen will be very negative, then.

All guys are romanceable but mostly for females only. Cullen has a mage fetish, btw. He's only interested in mage girls. Jowan likes girls and he's more comfortable with his mage friend than a warrior. His dialogues are more... intimate/personal when you're a mage yourself. He's hesitating to be completely honest with a warrior/rogue: he's a tough nut to romance as a warrior but will readily and easily fall in love with a mage, because of their shared Origin and knowing each other for so long. Ser Gilmore has no gender preferences and reacts to any approach, male and female. Gorim is only interested in female dwarfs and he's hostile (-100) if you're playing a duster. I never play dwarfs so I really can't say more about him.

Gender bending/cheating mods like Polyamory or Equal Love don't work for these guys because these mods are scripted only for the vanilla characters. So Jowan, Cullen and Gorim are straight and they're really p*ssed if you cheat on them. And another thing: You should be chaste before recruiting your love interest: I was with Zevran in one playthrough (the only one I ever left him alive for the Achievement) - only once - before I recruited Jowan and he only reached 100 friendly instead of love. He never tried to approach my Warden and never asked for spending the night together. Jowan even left Ferelden after defeating the Archdemon, then. o_O

The mod is a beta right now and the companions are only talking through subtitles and without any facial animation. Karma is still adding more companions and when the mod is fully done, she's going to add voice overs. She's already looking for voice actors, btw. She's currently scripting Soris, Leske and Tamlen into her mod as well. Tamlen will be available as Dalish Elf AND the Darkspawn Shriek variant - at least that's what I was able to interpret from her screenshots.

Thanks Muzzow. Always nice to find something to make a new runthrough worth a look.
