I read an interesting theory someone posted.

They said that maybe people dont notice vampires, because they are not Dragonborn.
That your Aedric soul lets you see thing in different ways then other people.

No one else can see the glowing words on a word wall, or hear it.
To them its just a wall with words on it.

Probably not true but its interesting to think that having an Aedric soul lets you see something that other people dont.

No one has had any problems with recurring vamp attacks after the DG quest ends, have they? It's been a few days so I though I'd ask.

They stopped after I wiped out Mr Harkon and his mooks.

I mean honestly guys...LOCK THE FREAKING CASTLE DOOR!
Sigh what I would not give for a good siege at least once.

Also huh. the main theme has a line:
"WITH POWER TO RIVAL THE SUN"

I wonder if that was a nod for Dawnguard early on.

I have never had a single vampire attack occur after the questline is done, so I can only assume they've stopped altogether.

That would make sense. Falion can visually distinguish between mortals and vampires because of his experiences; having an Aedric soul could be why the Dragonborn can 'see' vampires in a way other mortals can't.

Having an Aedric soul does get me thinking.

Were you a dragon at one point in time? Are you a part of Akatosh that was sent to deal with Alduin who himself is another part of Akatosh.
Did Kynareth really bless you?

I honestly wonder if the Dragonborn really was just Akatosh knocking down Alduin or something.
Or if Shor is somehow tied into it.

That does make you a bit of a demi god then.
I mean at high levels you can utterly pulverize things.

I really want a DLC that is about kicking the Thalmor in the nads though.

Today's play was extra pleasing. Finished the Main Quest, and topped Archery and Sneak at 100 each while seeking Alduin; like it when the game mechanics seem to reward epic stories.

When I returned, I used a three worded Storm Call to remove some Daedric cultists that made the mistake of attacking me earlier, finished preperations for the next leg of the adventure with Serena, and went to meet her near Solitude. On that journey, the first Ancient Dragon to appear after the death of Alduin appeared, and proceded to attack:

* a Stormcloak camp - I am leaning towards the Imperials, but went to help my fellow Nords. The Dragon leaves them in a valley and then attacks....

* Passing Thalmor on the higher mountain road. This time, I was not so swift at helping.

* Feral bear that also helped finish the Thalmor.

* Some nearby vampires seeking the Dragonborn.

* and then me. I almost hated to retaliate at this point, but that is a No-No,

Then while in Solitude, I kill an undercover Vampire near the court, stop Necromancers from raising Potema, and slay an upset Thalmor Wizard that should have picked a better location because the guards were on my side.

Sweet!

Dragons do have to the tendency to aggro on absolutely EVERYTHING except the Dragonborn. It truly is in their nature to destroy and conquer.

Total sidenote, but last night while playing Fallout 3, I could have sworn I heard Mercer Frey's VA while I was in Red Rock Canyon. The Enclave guard who stops you right when you walk out of your holding cell sounded just like him.

Edit: Oops, I meant Raven Rock.

Well, I kinda figured that. Voice actors in the gaming industry do seem to get around, don't they? Image IPB

It's been fun to go back in time, as it were, and hear all the voices I've been listening to in Skyrim, but in different context. I have to say, I definitely prefer Erik Dellums as N*zir, over Three Dog, but he's a cool cat either way.

I took the Animal Friend perk, so Yao Guai are cute and cuddly to my Lone Wanderer. (They like to curl up at her feet; it's awfully cute). I usually take the second perk as well, but it's kind of sad to see Brahmin fighting radscorpions. It doesn't usually end well.

And that stinky Enclave had a Yao Guai stuffed into one of their containers at Raven Rock. Those guys are just as bad, if not worse, than the Thalmor.

In a way, I'm kind of glad followers and NPCs can die in Skyrim, like in Fallout 3 - it feels much more realistic than getting knocked unconscious, ala FO:NV. I'm all kinds of jane-on-the-spot with healing Dogmeat. I thought it was also noteworthy that Dogmeat has a higher priority to enemies than the Lone Wanderer, so they focus their attention on him. It sure doesn't feel like it's that way in Skyrim.

My Dragonborn(s) get all the love. Image IPB

The Thalmor and the Enclave are good for one thing and one thing only.
Target practice.

Sadly there is no Fawkes in Skyrim to help me murderize the Thalmor.

I just got Fawkes as a follower last night. It's a good thing, because I was just about to knock some sense into Star Paladin Cross, if she told me to "be vigilant" one more time. Heh.

Who would/could the Fawkes of Skyrim be? Oh, silly me. Farkas!

^ Exactly! I gave him a Gatling Laser, a Minigun, and a Missile Launcher. If he kills Dogmeat with one of those, we're going to have a chat. Image IPB I'm just thrilled to finally have Tesla Armor. Woo!

I really didn't mean to derail. My apologies.

Honestly I expect the final expansion DLC to deal with Akatosh and the DB joining the gods or some such. Maybe even becoming Akatosh :/
