^ I hear that. I was putting off doing the Delphine/Thalmor Embassy quest (Diplomatic Immunity) in my playthrough - I believe my Khajiit is around level 40. I got some new spells in the Soul Cairn though, so mayhap the MQ should be my next priority, too. Well, once I get back into Skyrim. I'm having trouble focusing on one game, as of late.

The Thalmor and the Brotherhood are good for one thing and one thing only.

Does a Dunmer have unique dialogue with Jiub?

I just got Fawkes as a follower last night. It's a good thing, because I was just about to knock some sense into Star Paladin Cross, if she told me to "be vigilant" one more time. Heh.

Who would/could the Fawkes of Skyrim be? Oh, silly me. Farkas!

Yes.   Charon is definitely my favorite FO3 companion.

After what I have read around here, I expected Soul Cairn to be truly amazing. It's not bad, but still. I actually thought the castle was much cooler.

I'm a huge Fawkes fan, but man Charon is a badass.

"You purchased my contract from Ahzrukhal?

So, I am no longer in his service. That is good to know. Please, wait here. I must take care of something."
  KA-BLAM!

Agree on Farkas.  As a male, he's the only male companion I can tolerate...so yes, Farkas is Fawkes.

I dont use companions that much since I prefer operating from Stealth for the opening salvos.

Or not having some companion idiotically set off EVERY trap just to chase one mook down.
Oh look a spike wall -slam-
Oh look a spike wall -slam-

Sigh.

To this day, I have still never tried him out. Will he follow you if you're something other than neutral? I've always got a sparkly halo, I'm afraid.

@Barbarossa - You too? OK, I really need to see what all the fuss is about now. Image IPB

He is Karma immaterial. Doesn't matter.

I have him now, and my Karma's pretty good.

Really? I assumed he wouldn't follow, similar to how that Mr. Gutsy wouldn't follow you if you weren't neutral. Dang it. That's what happens when you assume. I could have sworn I read that somewhere, but who knows.

Edit: You're right! Per the wiki:

"There are 8 permanent companions available to the player in Fallout 3. All Companions except for Dogmeat and Charon have a Karma requirement that must be met if the player wishes to enlist that companion (listed here in parentheses)...."

So who is the Charon of Skyrim?

You always get good karma to easily in the Fallout games.

Literally I just walk around murdering tons of baddies and become a saint.
If only real life worked that way.

Yes it's actually hard to avoid getting good karma. You'd have to run away from every raider.

But no, killing people does not make you a saint in real life. I'm not sure it's something I would hope for though!

Aww dang, I could have had Clover as a follower? Yeah, she lost her head last night by someone wearing Eulogy Jones' suit. Image IPB

I'm pretty invested in the TES universe, so I probably found the Soul Cairn more fascinating than others might. It also had the advantage of being a plane of Oblivion - anything to do with Oblivion automatically piques my interest.

But yes, the Castle was also brilliant. The atmosphere was very dark and brooding - it reminded me a lot of a Zelda dungeon for some reason, believe it or not. Chasing Echoes/Beyond Death are probably two of my favorite quests in the game (still not as awe-inspiring as Touching the Sky and Hail Sithis! though).

I loved playing my Minsc expy in Fallout 3.
God he was dumb as a rock but he could pulverize people with his bare hands.
Nothing was quite as funny as punching a mooks head clean off their shoulders.

Oh no the funniest was beating Caesar's Legion down as a chick in melee combat.
-4str my arse.

Charon will follow anyone, as long as you buy out his contract from that a-hole Ahzrukhal. There really is no Charon equivalent in Skyrim that I've seen. The closest like-minded soul would probably be someone like Boone. Grim and a real killer. Although Charon is probably more prone to socio-pathology than Boone!

Just substitute a combat shotgun for a sniper rifle.Image IPB

The best FO3 follower was Bittercup, but that was a mod IIRC.

Fawkes is so awesome that to this day I still like him more than any New Vegas companion. The adventures we had...at high levels he's simply unkillable. I don't know if it was a bug, but eventually not even a sneak attack with the MIRV could take him down.

Just finished the vampire hunter side for Dawnguard and begun the vampire version of the Main questline. Well worth the wait.

I just dont get it.

WHY WONT ANYONE REALLY CONFRONT MY KHAJIIT!
AN assassin, a thief, a murderer, a daedra worshiper, a vampire, and a general all around COMPLETE MONSTER.

I mean nope.
Lets just put our faith in the guy who gets his lulz from crime.
