@Giggles - probably the same reason they call my Khajiit a rug. They're stoopid. Image IPB

Why do people call Argonians lizards?

Argonians are closer to amphibians since they can breathe underwater.
Added to that they are warm blooded so it would be impossible to be a lizard right?

Then again Nords are pretty stupid.

They do resemble crocodiles pretty closely. And amphibians are not warm blooded either, so in that regard it doesn't matter much. They're just... warm blooded lizards.:P

I've found the feral Falmer weird (the ones that seem to be cannibals), I wonder why they became like that.

That's a good point.  Me, I just see them as reptilian.  Which would put them in the same class as the  dragons this game is about.

Actually, Argonians are ES's version of the Kobold.  In my next playthru, I'm gonna create an Argonian and call him Deekin.

I have an Argonian in play right now.

I call him Strider.
Bounty Hunter, Hunter, Tracker, and professional mercenary.
Sure he will buy a house, but his real home is outside in the wild, tracking down whatever is the most challenging.

Eventually I will move his game ahead, but I have to pack for dorms.

The Falmer are interesting creatures - Gelebor seems to think they're becoming more intelligent and that he may be able to communicate with them someday. I, myself, think this is a bad thing - the Falmer are, by their very nature, a violent and predatory race, and their reaching a human level of intelligence makes them that much more dangerous IMHO.

I suspect we will be seeing more of the Falmer in the future - and I doubt they will be any less hostile then as they are now.

I would defintetly like more complex combat. Hitting the attack button over and over again gets old. I would also like better facial animations during conversations. A problem I had with both Oblivion and Morrowind, was that the game style was pretty hostile to newcomers. In morrowind, I have tried so hard to get into the fighters guild, and I still don't know how.

Agreed. Now I can take down most enemies in one blow of my enchanted warhammer. It's fun to watch the slow mo pwning but it gets a little old after a while.

@Green:

Prior to Daggerfall Orcs were treated the same way.
With the Falmer who knows?

Though I doubt they will get the same treatment.

As far as I know, Orcs were always fully sentient - they are simply a battle-minded people. I also don't recall Orcs keeping slaves or doing "leather farming" on prisoners. o_o

True but communication with them is at least more hope then an animalistic nature.

I notice a lot of the tools and torture contraptions the Falmer use are of Dwemer make (or at least appear that way) - this makes the think the Dwemer did all of the same things to the Falmer that the Falmer do to their victims now, and that perhaps the Falmer came to know these things as being "normal" and practice them accordingly.

Everything I know about the Dwemer shows them to be villains more than anything - it seems they were a very domineering and power-hungry people, whose leaders seemed to develop a kind of God complex. With Dawnguard, we come to know the depths of the Dwemer's cruelty - woe to Tamriel if they should ever return.

I've been seeing other skyrim forums but there's one thing I don't understand. What's with all the skimpy and impractical armor mods that everyone seems to be obsessed with? I don't get it, does anyone have a clue as to why so many people would download that stuff? No offense to anyone who uses it, just interested in knowing why.

The more skin you show the more cool/powerful you are in some settings.
Alas Bethesda gets the point of some heavy armor wrong.

Having boobs curves could DEFLECT BLOWS TOWARDS YOU, or leaving that stupid part open in Orcish armor. I want a mod more neutral or something.

I know women are not the same shape as men, but do we really need boob plates, and breast windows?

The scaling system just becomes broken at a certain point and the crafting skills really throw the balance out the window. Once you've hit the magic resistance cap and leveled up gear, you can pretty much just breeze through the rest of the game.

Sadly for the female Vampires....their armor does not work.

EXPOSING half your chest is going to get you killed.
Case in point its where ANYONE would aim in a fight and would pretty much instantly kill a vampire.

Skyrim is not as bad as some games I could mention though, and the boob-tastic armor's are really crap compared to the high end stuff.

All this sexy armor talk reminds of Soul Calibur. Quick question i'm planning to max out smithing the legit way so what material is more cost effective in terms of experience and Septims. Just so you know all my other files had smithing maxed out before they were updated with patch 1.5.

I hear jewelry is the talk of the day when it comes to smithing. Be sure to pick up Transmute Mineral Ore and smith away.

And if you happen to be an Enchanter, you may add magics to the jewelry sold; boosts Smithing, Enchanting, Speechcraft, and profit. While I personally use the console commands to skip a lot of this, jewery is something that remains effective from start to finish, and this seems to be a great method for those that wish to play w/o cheat codes.
