My new favorite Serana moment: "Be careful you don't fall off that waterfall, I don't want to have to pull you out."

Well I hadn't planned to, but now she's got me curious. Her dialogue was priceless after my 'accidental' jump off it. Kind of impressed me the plot actually tracked me doing that.

heh! She also gives you a good scolding if you use it.

According to the Wiki, this water flow area was a feature intentionally implemented after the brain-storm session that also yielded the monster perks, Vampire Lord, mounted combat, etc.

The downside: not every waterfall was designed for safe passage. One area caught me by surprise when my jump semed to outlast the etherial shape assumed; reload.

Harkon was more fun to fight then Alduin.

But not as good as Arch-Curate Vythur - that battle was just downright epic.

Anyway, I've finally encountered another vampire being chased down by Vigilants of Stendarr, and also encountered three vampires masquerading as Vigilants. All of them died quite ignominiously - two of the pseudo-Vigilants died instantly from one Fire Breath shout, and the other one got his head chopped off immediately thereafter.

Other than that, still nothing - I did clear out Broken Fang Cave a while back, and I'm probably gonna clear out Pinemoon Cave for Sybille here in a bit. Maybe at some point some vampires will try to raid Solitude while I'm there, and finally convince me the Dawngurd are worth joining.

Well I just finished with Vythur. The actual fight with him at the end was very non epic. He barely got a shot in. But the part in the throne room before that was nicely done.

In one playthrough, I used Unrelenting Shout to propel the Arch-Curate from the cliffs, and on this occasion he somehow survived. I then used Etherial Form to try and join him for a match on the ice below, but by the time I arrived, he had vainshed; probably scrambling up a proper way to return to the prior spot.

In order for me to lenghen that final encounter, I insist that the Dragonborn gets the kill; not Serena or others, and try and insure that instant kill methods are not the first trick out of the bag.

I didn't have much trouble with Vythur or Harkon in my first playthrough on the Dawnguard side - both fights were over pretty quickly for my Redguard. She's kind of an arse-kicker. Image IPB

Tomorrow I'm going to be doing the last few quests in the main questline for the first time ever. Even prepared legendary dragonscale and plate armour for my character and her housecarl Iona. Rather strange that I've played over 700 hours of this game and still not finished the main questline once.

Also, stay classy Farengar.

Lol I smiled at that the first time I seen it in game.

I found repeatedly hitting him with my cutlass did the job just fine. But that's usually my tactic with everything.Image IPB

Looks like Harkon is next on my Hit (with a cutlass) List.

Well I had shield charge going.

So most fights consist of me knocking someone ass over tea kettle then wailing on them when they are down.
Sword and Shield remains the best melee mode of combat.

^ I'm a battleaxe kind of girl. I've tried every weapon type in Skyrim, and that's what I keep going back to. There's just something about how it feels.
And I use battleaxes in every game that I can. Always have. Image IPB

Edit: I've tried using a sword (or mace/axe) and shield, but I can never quite get block timing right. *sigh*

It helps if you fight him at nighttime - I believe his health, magic, and stamina regenerate normally at night, and his Vampiric Drain spell also saps your magic and stamina as well IIRC.

First time I fought him, it was almost dawn, and after he went down the sun started rising - it was magnificent. Touching the Sky really is the best quest in the game IMHO.

You can't blame Farengar — Serana is quite the classy lady.

Fearengar has good taste, and tastes rather good, too; a priority feeding source while in Whiterun.

Serana is quite lovely, indeed.

Actually, I've started to take a liking to Lydia. She's strong, attractive, and completely devoted to the Dragonborn (even if she doesn't like carrying your burdens very much). I'll probably end up marrying her once the Dovahkiin realizes he and Serana were not meant to be.

To be fair, Farengar was probably already sitting there. That sassy lass Serana probably walked right into that position, just to tease him. Image IPB

Greetings!

Not sure if anyone has seen this but there's a mod in Skyrim that puts the crash-landed Normandy spacecraft from the Mass Effect series right outside Whiterun:

Now we can see where the Normandy really ended up at the end of Mass Effect 3! Image IPB

And here's the link:

Is it unmanly to be attracted to strong women? Because I totally have a soft spot for strong women. It's why I take a liking to characters like Serana and let my Dovahkiin marry Aela the Huntress.

Every now and then I seem to get a wave of odd bugs. Things like dead dragons spawning in the middle of a town, Imperial and Stormcloak couriers running up to me (while I'm in the middle of a fight in the middle of nowhere) then turning around without a word, etc. The latest was I fast traveled to the former Vigilant of Stendarr outpost and appeared 200 feet in the air or so. I survived, my horse did not. Some bandits also suddenly appeared outside of the palace of the kings in Windhelm.

LOL. I'd rather have my wife standing at my side as we wipe the floor with dragons, draugr, vampires, and anything else stupid enough to get in our way - having a stay-at-home wife is not the wife for me.

@MageTarot - that was posted on page 1012. Image IPB Probably a great reminder for PC users, though!

@Green - I'm with you! In my last playthrough, my Dovahkiin married that dippy Sorex Vinius, and stayed away from home pretty often (presumably to avoid him). Most of the time, when asked if the store had made any money, he'd cough up 2000 septims or more. I don't think she had much respect for him, since he wasn't able to fight alongside her.

My favorite husband/wife duo was my Orc and Ghorbash the Iron Hand...although he eventually retired, and Orbugob roamed the countryside with Borgakh the Steel Heart.

Thank you for the heads-up! I tried doing a search but I only got 3 hits and they were from threads dated months ago. Guess it's not foolproof. Image IPB But yeah, I'm a new Skyrim PC player so there's a whooole lotta stuff I gotta catch up on!

^ I don't really think heat management problems and bugs you've never seen before are related. If heat problems did cause unexpected behaviour, it would probably be a lot more... dramatic. Like basic arithmetic errors or something.

@MageTarot - No problem! Just jump in anywhere. Image IPB It can take a while just getting caught up on a weekend's worth of posts, let alone an entire thread, so I know what you mean.

LOL. I always found it amusing that one of the most discussed games on this website next to ME3 and DA2 is a non-Bioware game, and that it's the only one out of those that's consistently discussed in a positive light.
