^ Wow. It didn't occur to me that people wouldn't like her sassy attitude. Or the Thieves Guild as a whole. I love those guys! I have a bit of snark tendencies IRL, so maybe that's why I relate.

And I love their armor. Image IPB

Yep I do love the Guild. I spend most of my free time there.

Though I'm off to a rough start with the Dark Brotherhood this time around. Even though I did guess correctly as to who had the contract on them when I introduced Astrid to the pointy end of my Cutlass earlier today.

It's especially handy when you have Nocturnal's statue in the cistern. I kiss that woman's feet every time I'm in there to get her blessing. I didn't even know you could do that in my first couple of playthroughs. Derp.

I kinda wish there was a generic TG follower you could use, like the ones in the Dark Brotherhood. One with high stealth, that dual wields... and Brynjolf's voice. That would make this girl happy.

^ True. And most of the time, they can't seem to figure out how to follow the same path you took to get somewhere.
I actually think that might be worse in Fallout 3, which I've been playing as of late. I can't tell you how often I turn around to look for Fawkes, and he's gone - so then I look on my map, and see this erratic green line... oh, there he is. Running around cars, getting stuck on...well, nothing. Maybe he just enjoys dancing.

It always drove me nuts how the outer regions of some of the Dwemer ruins would totally mess up follower AI. In most cases, they wouldn't cross certain thresholds because it was like an invisible wall. I think Mzinchaleft was one of them.

Thats why I love playing the PC version. There's a mod that lets you use various TG members as followers as you progress down the plotline. Which I used just so I could get Sapphire as a follower. She was my favorite until Serana came around.

The mod also gives them all the Light Foot perk. Which is a must for any sneaky hero's companions.

I'm totally going to check that mod out, I love hanging around the Ragged Flagon with my fellow thieves. It's kind of demoralising at times though when Brynjolf's too busy to talk, and Vekel is still calling you a newbie despite you being the Guild Master and a Nightingale. But I love chatting to the various members, like Rune, Sapphire and Vipir the Fleet. I want to take Vex out as a follower, that lass needs some sun.

I would have loved it if each of them had a little side quest, but generally I'd love anything that fleshes out any of the joinable factions. I want the bards college to pay me to make appearances at different Jarl's courts. Have Viarmo telling you "Hey, head over to Morthal and play for Jarl Idgrod, take a lute or a flute, she hates drums."

Well, I've finally made it to Darkfall Cave with my Redguard thief. Just fallen off the wooden bridge and hit the bottom. Goonies never say die!  Off to play some more.

Aye, a friend of mind created her own follower using the Creation Kit, and gave him Light Foot and other useful perks, to avoid problems created by notorious follower AI.

I stopped using followers after noting that, after all these years, the only person capable of writing decent follower/companion AI (within the limits of a given game engine) is Tony K. However, after my friend sharing what she did I may mod any companions I find interesting so they won't blow my stealth, go charging through the dungeon like Leroy, or stupidly trip every trap we encounter.

I have a follower trap safety mod, and they never trigger traps anymore. ;) I also have a mod that allows for more bound keys. Very handy. Now I have my whole outfit linked to one button and I don't have to go through my inventory list when I have been a werewolf and have to get dressed again.

Snarky I like (eg; College librarian), but someone that refuses to work on my kind, and tells everyone around that I am Undead deserves nothing less than a dirt nap.

And I am wearing Heavy Armor. The entire idea that vampires cannot be warriors is rather absurd, esp considering that Vampire Lords seem unable to cast School based spells in form, too.

On a related note, I am fond of both the Vampire and Dawnguard side quests; much better than the Radiant quests for other factions. One standout thus far is Deceiving the Herd for the vamps; some thought actually must be made to achieve the goals and gain a clean escape.

I really get annoyed at the Thieves Guild after a while.

Yeah insult the guy who turned the guild around, removed the curse, took down Mercer, rebuilt your contacts, AND is the only reason you are doing well.
Do we ever see them out on a job? No.

So shut up already.

At least N@zir and Babette treat you with respect, as does Cicero,
I mean is some respect that hard to get?

I had to get a freaking MOD to get guards from being snarky to me.

Deceiving the Herd irks me. The Dawnguard armor is clearly not deceiving anyone as the Dragonborn is the one to get hit with the bounty for the public kill. :pinched:

That said, it was a fun excuse to take out the Radiant Raiments woman.

One of the "special" job recruits makes sure to tell you that he's been doing "jobs for Vex" (hint hint) is a little annoying, to be sure. Yeah, yeah, you're trying to impress the shrew. Wait for a second, while I pretend to be impressed.

Oh yeah, Garthar is his name.

Delvin says some cool things after you become Guildmaster, and I think Vex actually said something, too...but of course, that's short-lived. And considering the weird bugs Dawnguard brought, it's surprising that they say anything at all.

I remember the first time I went up against a Draugr Scourge.

"Oh god, they can FUS RO DAH!"

Which becomes funny if you select Force Without Effort when you meditate with Paarthurnax, which decreases stagger.

*Draugr casts Unrelenting Force*
*stagger*

"Your fus is strong... but mine is stronger. FUS RO DAH!"

*Draugr gets blown away*

Hooray! So maybe these new Draugr will turn you into a werewolf when they shout at you. Image IPB

(instead of a vampire, like they do now, ala Dawnguard).

Well if you saw them on a job they would be terrible thieves. Image IPB

For an example of what happens to thieves who you see on the job, I refer to to the stupid ones who keep getting shot by the guards in Riften.

Of course those guards aren't terribly bright either. Especially when I stroll over to those thief bodies in my Thief armor and loot all the goodies off it after. Which I usually follow up by picking the guard's pockets blind and sticking stolen candlesticks in their inventory.

This is where some RO and consolde commands comeinto play for me. If I obtain all of my objectives and make a successful escape (ie; am able to achieve Fast Travel conditions), I am able to use the console to pay the debts and clear the record.

Or in some cases where the game obviously is lacking sense (eg; when there are underwater guards using shields and bows), I am able to say tsk-tsk, and make any adjustments and continue play.

BTW - made it all the way to dry land outside of Riftin when I discovered Harrold is NOT considered a person of note; reload and kill the Light Armor merchant instead.
