You got that quest in Riften? I swear, that quest is always, always, always in Solitude for me.Elhanan wrote...
BTW - made it all the way to dry land outside of Riftin when I discovered Harrold is NOT considered a person of note; reload and kill the Light Armor merchant instead.
The temple priests are also not people of note.

I used to walk around with a sweetroll thinking it would trigger some kind of quest.

@Blaidefiste, I did that stuff in the beginning, too.

Felt incredibly refreshing being the one doing the damage. The Black-Briars were the best. Favorite quest in Skyrim!

Even though that temple woman told me not to bother with the obviously apathetic people, I gave one of those fliers to Maven Black-Briar. She was not very impressed.
Passing out the flyers was the best part of that quest for me, as all of the Black-Briar household I could find received a copy.

I noticed the problem first when I tried quick travelling to Riverwood several times, and could not enter the city without crashing. So, I started in Riften and was able to actually walk all the way to Riverwood without a single CTD, made it to the Riverwood Trader, sold my crap, left through the door and CTD'd. Head desk.
I can travel to gated cities with no problem, but open cities are my bane.

I love that quest. The Bosmer are the most receptive, funnily enough.happy_daiz wrote...
That just brings me back to the Agent of Mara / Book of Love quest line, where you have to deliver the Warmth of Mara to 20 people in Riften...

Me though, I'll take the PC version of any game based on mouse and keyboard use alone. But also Better graphics and quicker (almost non-existant) load times on area transitions. oh and Mods.

My CTDs are almost certainly a self-inflicted wound, most likely the result of poor mod management. I'm only reporting here in the (very unlikely) event it might be a widespread issue I had not heard about. I'll simply remove the suspected mods and re-load.

I will likely never give up console gaming - it's simply where I belong. PC gaming is... there for games I want to play that unfortunately aren't out on consoles, or would be more difficult to acquire a console version for (e.g. KOTOR).

I really dislike mouse and keyboard controls - I just feel far more comfortable with a gamepad, which a lot of PC games seem to lack support for without having to purchase and set up third-party software.

You know that you you can use your 360 controller on PC, right? Bethesda supports the XBOX 360 controller for all their games. Just enable it in options. But, I warn you, you will never go back once you start down that road!

My story: I used to be a hardcore console, anti-PC gamer, thinking PC nerds, elitist, obtuse, and general all around pains in the ass that can never be pleased. I was of the opinion that gaming on a PC was too troublesome, and generally it didn't make enough of a difference in gameplay and presentation to take on the work. I, of course, would still used my PC for my old early 2000s and 1990s games, but that's about it.
Having purchased and played Skyrim, FO3 and New Vegas on PC consistently since about April, and taken advantage of all they have to offer through the Steam Workshop, and now Nexus, and experienced the difference for myself...well...I have since dramatically revised my prior position.

Any game with a decent modding community extends the life of that game so much. That alone is a solid reason for people to get into PC gaming.

I'd take them anyday then have to live without the advantages of a PC game.

But all that being said, I'll still take the PC version of the game. The Eye candy tastes better. And my version, at least, is as stable and stable gets. It hasn't CTD'ed on me since patch 1.3

I'm with him, though. The argument is kind of moot with me as well. I was a PC gamer for years, and I went the other way. I'm old, and I no longer care to worry about system requirements or mods. And I sit in front of a PC all day long at work. I'd rather let my Network Admin worry about my system specs there, while I sit in front of a 55" LED TV, with 240 refresh rate, gaming without a care in the world. If you haven't seen Skyrim on one of those, I think you might be surprised.

Thats just too damn bad. This crap here and the self superiority alot of the PC games here have, makes me not even want to touch my PC for gaming anymore, its like being at a racism rally honestly.
