Well, I'm the one who brought it up to begin with - and no one's being an ass or anything, so it's all good. B)

@Blaidefiste, I did that stuff in the beginning, too. Image IPB

I love that quest.  The Bosmer are the most receptive, funnily enough.

That's true. The Bosmer seem pretty polite in most areas of Skyrim, now that you mention it.

For the longest time, I thought the stable hand outside of Windhelm was hitting on my character. He always said something like, "I look forward to getting to know you better", which made me wonder if I'd messed up my character's marriage prospects with someone else. Ahh, he was just being polite!

Total facepalm on my part.

Its funny that Skyrim is filled with so many ****s, that we take a single person being nice to our character as flirting.

Too bad most of the Bosmer look like they fell off the top of the ugly tree and hit all the branches on the way down - except for some of the female ones like Beleval, who is actually kinda attractive for a Wood Elf.

I guess that "Bosmer" stable hand, Ulundil, is married anyway. And he's an Altmer. Oops.

He looks an awful lot like a Bosmer, though. Hmmpf. I should have paid more attention to his voice.

High Elves are an interesting race in this game - their appearances seem to vary wildly. For example, I notice Niranye is nowhere near as tall as other High Elves - she's about the same height as my Nord, in fact. Her facial features are also different from other High Elves - they're more human-like. It's possible she's not a full-blooded Altmer, and has a human parent or grandparent.

Or maybe High Elves simply really do vary that much in appearance - I do not know. Interbreeding between races obviously occurs though, as demonstrated by Bretons who are actually the result of man and mer interbreeding over the centuries.

You know...I suddenly realized something.

People in Skyrim are really brave.
Like just this morning I found a few bandits and so I charged them.
On Arvak, while wearing Daedric armor.

Takes guts to face a guy on a giant horse that is on fire.

Thats just too damn bad. This crap here and the self superiority alot of the PC games here have, makes me not even want to touch my PC for gaming anymore, its like being at a racism rally honestly.

No one is forcing him. He brought it up and it's simple debating....okeey? And it's a video game system. It's not like racism at all.

You have a good point. Niranye is an exception, and so are some of the others. I wonder how many Altmer I've confused with Bosmer since I've started playing? I might have to take a look, but I'm not sure I want to know.

I didn't know that about Bretons, but that makes sense. And might I just give my face changer lass another high-five? Because of her, my first Breton is finally pretty. Hooray!

I always thought Bretons were more attractive than females of other races in general - Muiri, Eola, Vivienne Onis, Lisette, and Mirabelle Ervine (I think she's pretty, anyway) are my favorites. There are also a lot of pretty Nords, like Lydia, Ingun Black-Briar, and Susanna the Wicked.

There are a couple Altmer farmers, which I found interesting. One is married to a Nord.

Ulindil is an interesting one, he seems to have the happy go lucky attitude you find with Bosmer. I guess there are different ways people can deal with having a very long lifespan- the Thalmor think it makes their poo smell sweeter, the Dunmer get bitter and withdrawn, and some of them get really reflective and sweet. The latter reminding me of my Erandur crush.

My favorite Altmer is still Nelacar. "Can you describe the smell?" lol

My fave Altmer is Viarmo.
I like when he says that Skyrim will change hands in the future, but EVERYONE will remember the Dragons.

I've just finished the Dawnguard main quest with my Redguard thief. The forgotten vale was great, had lots of fun exploring that. Killing two revered (I think that's the name) dragons on the ice was very cool and decidedly cooler than I had hoped because Serana got lost crossing the river down below that area so I had to do it alone.

Storming the castle with the Dawnguard was fun as well, although I'd still love to see a decent siege in Skyrim. We crushed the vampires although Durak charged ahead when we were going inside and died surrounded by four of the vampires (not learned their names yet as I've not continued with my Vampire Breton yet) and a death hound. Still, we honoured his sacrifice by killing every last vampire around, including one which ended up hiding down amongst a load of coffins near the library type area. Stupid idiot shouldn't have shouted out something about destroying me or I might have missed him.

The fight with Harkon went on longer than I imagined it would. After all this character is now level 62, has legendary dragonscale armour, with two enchantments on each piece, the blade of woe and the nightingale blade smithed up to legendary as well, and most fights don't take long anymore. Admittedly the length was due to use of the bat form and lots of gargoyles and skeletons to soak up damage but still, he didn't take much damage and I was struggling to use Auriel's bow with his running around and disappearing, kept missing. Still, fun was had, and Serana got the killing blow so I was pleased with how it went down. We needed a whip weapon though, doesn't seem right fighting a vampire lord without a whip.

Harkon: "Blah, blah, pretentious, arrogant vampire diatribe, blah. My daughter betrayed me for a mere mortal."
Dovahkiin: *pulls out whip, proceeds to use whip* "You talk about your Elder Scrolls and your Tyranny of the Sun Prophecy. Well the Dovahkiin's Elder Scroll says I just whipped your ass!"

"This is for Durak you bloodsucking coward!"

Mirabelle Ervine was quite pretty, imho. And dat voice! I could listen to her all day long.

Lots of pretty Breton in Skyrim, that's for sure. I'm just happy mine is finally one of them. (Originally, she kind of looked like a witch. Heh.)

I can't make female Dovahkiins anywhere near as well as male ones - I've got a "formula" I use for male characters that works for males of all races except Khajiit and Argonians. The facial proportions are always spot on, and the rest I can tweak to my liking.

Sadly, the "formula" does not translate well to female Dragonborns - and I have yet to work out decent facial proportions, nose and eye types, etc. Perhaps female Dovahkiins simply aren't the Dovahkiins for me.

I've been told I have a knack for making beautiful female protagonists (subjective of course), but alas it doesn't work so well on mer, so my wood elf is only so-so.

This might be a noob question, but I'll ask it anyway since I'm so infatuated with Dawnbreaker and haven't really put much time into Skryrim as of late: I haven't played Dawnguard yet, since the subject matter is underwhelming to me personally, and I haven't used Dawnbreaker for quite some time since I've only been leisurely playing off and on for the past couple of months, but are vampires considered undead and hence subject to the explosive effect of Dawnbreaker?

They are, and you will find the blade most useful to that end.

Also, I urge you to go ahead and get Dawnguard - it appears to be solely about fighting against (or for) Harkon and his brood at first, but I can assure you there is much more to it than that, including a pretty earth-shattering revelation towards the end of the questline that will jolt anyone familiar with TES lore.

I agree with greengoron. Things are not as expected. Unless you read spoilers, that is.

Yeah, you'll definitely have an "OH S*** SON" moment, followed by what is probably the best quest in the entire game.

So go and get Dawnguard... NOW. ಠ_ಠ

The Dawnguard storyline is more epic than the Main storyline, IMO; well worth the investment. And if you have not yet seen an Undead knocked back and upward to be deposted on the top of a bookcase via crossbow, keep playing!

Just started a new playthrough to finally play the Dark Brotherhood questline for the first time and honor Gogron gro-Bolmog with my Orc assassin!

Is it possible to use his modus operandi (no stealth, just brutal mass murder) or will I break the quests with that kind of behaviour?  Should be pretty hilarious if it's possible. Dual wield axe murder for the win! :innocent:

Yes, you can do that.

You'll get a high bounty, but if you can deal with it, go ahead.

There are one or two quests where you get better rewards for finishing them in a certain way (in one of them you have to hide a body out of sight). Personally I didn't care for the rewards anyway.
