Also double post as its important and not related to the above, you may only have three wings on each house. Meaning if you want all rooms and capabilities you must build all three houses.

If you have a house and get the kids bedroom ad on, then yes. And some of the new kids have had bad things to happen to them like theres a girl begging for money in whiterun now, as her folks died and her Aunt and Uncle took over the farm and tossed her out, plus the new girl in Solitude has a rather sad story.

Sounds like Dorothy after Aunt Em and Uncle whoever found about her magical trip to "Oz..." and found her pills.

*cough*

But anyway. Interesting. Though a bit creepy.

^ Whoa, back up. That's how kids get pets? They find them and bring them home? That sounds just like me as a kid. Image IPB

"Honest, mom, it just followed me home!"

Do they really? They seriously do that ingame? Or are you talking about IRL.

Hmm. I might have to rethink this whole Hearthfire adopting kids thing. That sounds like it could be pretty cool.

So last night, I got a quest from Vingalmo (Vampire Lord side) to turn my husband into a vampire. It had "come to his attention" that my Dragonborn was married. So, I backtracked a little and made a new save from right before getting the quest, and tried it out. I really must use Vampire Seduction more.

It was kind of satisfying to turn Sorex Vinius over to the dark side, tbh. He doesn't look much different, though.

@Entropic - you are aware that we're talking about Hearthfire, right? A new DLC? It's out today for XBox.

Vaguely. I haven't been up on news lately, I've been buried in such fun things as Physics and O-Chem.

That does not sound like a fun rock to be hiding under.  Image IPB

Anyone know if you can adopt the dogs? I want Meeko guarding my property.

^ Brilliant question! I haven't heard. I wonder if you could take one of the Dawnguard dogs home with you? Or an armored troll? Image IPB

lol no I don't think so. Maybe the kids can bring a dog home at some point? I'm not really sure.

Meeko is never very lucky in my games, so I try to avoid his shack like the plague. Although in my last Orc run, Faendal wasn't particularly lucky, either.

Come to think of it, Birna in Winterhold might still be laying on the ground, in front of her shop, dead in my Khajiit playthrough. I looted her body after she was killed by a dragon, but left her clothes on. Someone else came along and stole them off her body when my Dragonborn wasn't around!

Meeko is my constant companion because I feel sorry for him hanging around his shack not being fed or watered lol. I sometimes send him away for a while, until the guilt gets to me and off I go to recruit him again. Housing him in my home would be ideal.

I'm thinking Mjoll for one of them. That woman is a tank! Aerin will meet an untimely death beforehand, because he's not welcome.  Although seeing him get taken out by a giant or skeever might make it worth it.

Maybe Farkas/Vilkas for one of the others. Sounds like Derkeethus would be a good choice as well, but he'd probably never be there, with the commute to Darkwater Crossing.

We're able to hire a bard too, right? It would be a hoot to hire Lurbuk. Image IPB

I started up a new Orc run (her name is Ura) over the weekend, and upon arriving in Riverwood, right after Helgen, was shocked at what I was greeted by... Sven was crouched over Faendal's dead body. What the...?

Wow.  I just began a new Elf run and the first thing I see walking into Riverwood is Faendal's corpse.  :crying:

Odd.

Excellent choice. Though I like Lisette too.

Can we adopt Babette? Would be entertaining to see what followed her home. Barring that I'd probably adopt the orphanage girl who says "Hmm who'd have thought one kill could change everything for the better?"

I'm sure she'll grow up interesting.

Word of advice, if you haven't started building houses yet:

BUY LOTS OF IRON INGOTS.

Seriously, you need like 500 to finish a house. Lydia's probably angry I'm running her all over Skyrim buying out all the blacksmiths.

Good to know, thanks! Image IPB

Whiterun Hold is a pretty good area to find iron veins, too. It's always a good idea to carry a pickaxe around, imho.

Also, I haven't hired a bard yet, but it's just a dialogue option for your Steward (mine being Jordis). If it works like the rest of the steward upgrades she should just spawn a new bard next time you enter the house. Which is sad. But I don't know this for sure yet.

Wait, so you talk to your Steward, who will hire a generic bard for you? That's disappointing, if true.

Although honestly, I'd probably want Talsgar the Wanderer, because that guy can hold his own in a fight. It would almost be like having an extra housecarl. But alas, that is probably a dream of the pipe kind.

Now that I think about it, the one in the trailer was not one I recognized...
