My Khajiit seems to have a long lost brother out there.

We'll end up killing each other and some random passerby will collect our loot

Or both of them decide to rule over the world.

Or put on a stunning rendition of CATS.
...damn that was a bad pun.

I actually got my wood elf to look normal, or maybe I just think that because of me playing on him 100+ hours. If i could post a good screenshot I would but, you know...xbox

I just gotta say that getting Hearthfire if you have a pc makes little sense. I've got a flying boat for a home along with a deployable tower. There are some wicked awesome houses on the steam workshop.

Anyway, Bethesda needs to poach some writers from other big companies. Maybe then they'll have some interesting quests.

I really like the alienish look, as I've said before. It might be a result of playing three other games in a row where the elves are stereotypically human, but with pointy ears, but I enjoyed the uniqueness about them. In fact I loved the entire redesign of all the races.

You know I just realized something Paarthurnax was very spot on about the PC.

I mean how do we react to people snarking at our Dragonborn, telling them no, and ordering them about? With Anger, wounded pride, and indignation.
What does our Dragonborn do mostly? DOMINATE.
Taking over guilds, gaining power, fighting battles, and taking names.

The Dragonborn is not at all that separate from Dragons really.
Except for my Argonian who is a biologist/botanist.

Seriously.
He just wanders around cataloging interesting plants and animals and studying alchemy.
Not done many quests...mostly just wandering about seeing the sights.

That's sort of how I see my Dragonborn...a sort of pilgrim...a wandering pilgrim experiencing the beauty of the North...well...a wandering pilgrim experiencing the beauty of the North who delights in shield bashing the occasional bandit.

Congrats! And I am guessing some of the other CC champs in here also have some decent renderings.

But these are PC's, of which were not available for CC in DA2. When looking at the NPC's, as I have said before, looks like someone wanted to put aliens in the alienage. And the Bosmer in Skyrim ain't much better (eg; Malborn, Enthir, Anuriel, Ronthil, etc).

BTW - as mentioned earlier, a perk of High Elves in play is taller with a longer stride (ie; apparently little bit faster, and able to look on top shelves a tad easier). They may also be ugly occasionally, but at least have bonuses worth using in play.

So I've heard its possible to convert xbox 360 saves into PC saves in Skyrim. However, does anyone know if that will cause a problem with modding? I plan to do it and I don't want to screw up anything.

I agree. I've found the design of non-human races (and Mer in particular)
simply terrible in earlier ES games. Oblivion was a horror in this regard.
Skyrim is in a whole other league, so much better that you can't even compare. Come to think of it, it's amazing how much progress has been made in so many critical areas in Skyrim. Art direction is one, but the environment and level design is another area where you can hardly belive the same company made these games...

Seriously?  That's possible?  Do you just move your 360 data and save file over to PC on a thumb drive?  I mean, it seems feasible, but man I think I'd be asking for trouble with 40+ mods on my PC.  I'd be tempted to try and bring my 360 playthrough over if it were possible.

Well I don't know if its possible, I've never tried at least not yet but I keep finding people who say it is through save editors and other stuff. Well I remember you could modify ME2 360 saves to PC format and I've heard that similar programs are used for doing it with Skyrim. I hope it is, I don't want to start over on PC unless I absolutely have to. The only problem is finding out if modding will have any negative effects if I do that.

This rather confirms what I have seen a little of in some vids (have not played earlier TES games). Believe I shall plan to move onward; not backward in the series, at least for now. And I have a copy of MW around here somewhere, should I become interested in the past.

I remember being so frustrated creating those ugly Oblivion characters.  Skyrim is a definite improvement as far as what you can do with the creator.  This wood elf is awesome.

And can I just say, dang, it takes a long time to level up Conjuration and Destruction organically, once you get to Expert level.

It sure does.  I got to 100 conjuration finally on my battlemage, but she's at level 50 which is where I usually feel a character has run her course.  She's still in the high 80s for destruction.

Conjuration goes a lot faster when you use bound wapens. My battle mage used a bound sword, and I think in the late level thirties or level 40 she reached 100 conjuration. She did not raise corpses, only conjured atronarchs (and later dremora lords).

Thing is for me, I am good with the little block sprites from the old Gold Box games in said game because that is the setting which is used to compare art forms. It all looked blocky, but the imagination could expand upon it.

But Bosmer are somewhat unique in their ugliness; most everything else looks fine or terrific. That ain't so good.

I use a Bound Bow, but it still takes a long time. Mostly it's that plus Summon Wrathman. My goal is to get Twin Souls, and to have some fun with thralls. Heh.

Oh hey, I will be posting some photos of my house in Heljarchen today! I just need to add them to a new BSN album, and arrange them. I also took some more shots of a couple of my characters; a few I'd missed.

Edit: OK, here is my Hearthfire album. House photos are of Heljarchen Hall in the Pale (as that's the only un-bugged one).

And here are my character updates.

New Characters:
- Cutlass Jack (Breton)
- Usubog Yasarz (Orc)
- Ura gra Malog (Orc)

Daenerys (Nord) before/after Vampirism
- Before
- After

Lielle (Breton) before/after face-changer in Riften
- Before
- After

So there is a house in the middle of the snowy area. That's good, now I don't know which of the three places I like the most.

I'd honestly have a hard time choosing a favorite, as I like all three. The one in the Pale (Heljarchen Hall, which I took photos of) is nice, because it's not bugged (ugh), but location-wise, I like the one in Falkreath the best (Lakeview Manor). I like all the trees, and the view of the lake. I wish it was a little closer to the water, but it's still a nice view.

Char's Revenge wrote...

Both of the two girls are respectful. Lucia however seems to be a bit of a loner and often pratices with her dagger in the kids room on the training dummy (pretty good at it I might add) but she is friendly and will play with Sofie and me when we ask her. She also seems to like baking. Overall nice but I would not want to put her with a difficult kid, just a funny feeling in terms of my observations.

Sofie however is very sweet, I've often get thank you's from her and she spends the most time around others, she often remarks on wanting to be a bard, and often you can hear her humming around the house. Funny enough I have yet to see her once use the dagger I gave her.

Both are however well mannerd and have yet to ask me for a present.

In my Lielle/Breton playthrough, I was married to Mjoll the Lioness, and adopted Lucia and Sofie. My experience with Lucia is a little different than yours. She is a creepy little girl. She seems nice enough, but at night, she won't sleep in her bed, and instead, stands at the foot of Sofie's bed. All night long. And she asks for money and presents every time I see her. I gave her a wooden sword, a new dress, and a doll, but haven't seen her use any of them (aside from the new dress). She hasn't even stepped foot into the kitchen that I've seen.

Image IPB

Sofie is a little sweetie. I'd say that my favorite two girls are Sofie and Runa, at least so far.

Mjoll doesn't seem too interested in the kids, though. And now I'm regretting not killing Aerin when I had the chance. The turd keeps saying, "Are you lost?" every time Lielle walks in the front door.

Oh! I almost forgot! I was able to get Ghorbash the Iron Hand to be steward of the Pale house. It took a looooong time for him to bring it up, though. He was my follower anyway, and it took building the entry and the Main Hall, and starting on the first wing for him to finally offer to be steward. Hells yeah, I took him up on his offer. And so far, there hasn't been any kind of infestation in the house, and the family has been moved in for at least a week.

I didn't realize this, either, but you can pay the steward to furnish individual rooms for you. It saves a lot of time. A LOT. The weird thing about it is that I kept thinking I'd paid him for nothing, because the Alchemy Tower wasn't instantly furnished. It took about a week in game time for it to be fully furnished, and it was a gradual progression. Each day, there was a new thing or two in there. I was worried that was bugged, too.
