I have the best luck when it comes to people.
This guy I work with gave me a little incentive to stay later and help him with something "finish this and I'll buy Skyrim DLC for you" his exact words. So stay later on a Friday but totally worth it.

Haha, where do should I apply?

EDIT: Also, I can't believe I've played Skyrim so long without a controller! I love it! Everythings....smoother then on keyboard.

Yep!  I actually prefer my 360 controller on PC with Skyrim. It's smoother than owl...stuff.  Great thing is it doesn't override the keyboard, so you have ready access to the in-game console when you need it.

It's like having the best of both worlds.

Has anyone considered just how many weapons their Dragonborn carries?

My main: Dragonsbane, Daedric Dagger, Staff of Magnus, Dwarven Crossbow, and Daedric bow.
Not counting his gauntlets and shield that can also act as weapons.

I still cant figure how he carries that much.

Generally, I take two bows, a melee weapon, dagger, and perhaps a few staves depending on magic strength.

As far as realism; not the priority for me in a FRPG.

I carry (eventually) the Blade of Woe for ritual killings, and a bow (with arrows) as my primary weapon. The rest I sell off or disenchant. It's my favorite way to play an assassin which developed out of playing Oblivion.

I'm with you, realism, shmealism.  All bets are off after the first full playthrough in my view.  I always play nice on the first for record run.

I will draw the line at modding in guns to Skyrim though...although that impulse might hit me at a moment's notice, so that's not necessarily a hard and fast rule.  Image IPB  For now, it's holding firm. Image IPB

Okay, silly question here... in Lakeview Manor, (not sure about other houses, never got 'em yet) on the shelf on the second floor between the stairs, is a pot of honey... I don't recall seeing one in game before this. Is it unique? I know you can harvest honeycomb from beehives, but not honey.

I'm afraid to pick it up as I know I'll never be able to put it back nicely, I'll knock everything off the shelf in an attempt to do so, and it'll end up on its side or on the floor.

Get home and in my gifts is Dawnguard DLC. My co-worder / friend was true to his word and lo and behold I'm in Solitude and my roleplaying takes me to Markarth even further away hahaha. I'll get to it eventually. Thats what I love about games like this. I doubt I'll ever see all the content available.

I just checked:

1 Daedric Fire Bow (just traded in my trusty Ebony Fire Bow)
1 Ebony Bow of Thunderbolts
1 Ebony Bow of Souls
Sword (Dragonbane)
Sword (Dawnbreaker)
2 x Ebony Hammers (Mod) [Fire andFrost]
2 x Daedric Swords (Frost and Fire)
4 x Ebony War Axes (Fire, Vampire, Paralysis, and Souls)
Ebony Warhammer (Fire)
A full quiver of (about 2000 now) Daedric Arrows

...and since we're including shields:

Skyforge Steel Shield (Mod) [Blocking and Fire Resistance]
Skyforge Steel Shield (Mod) [Blocking and Magic Resistance]

Eh, the way I see it, my armor's weightless, so I definitely have the room to indulge my inner weapon nut.

EDIT: Oh, and an additional set of combat fists/Two-Hand (+ unarmed damage and + 2 Hand Dam) gauntlets.  This is the only additional set I carry since my always wear guantlets are (+45 Bow Dam and + 45 One-Hand Dam).

Wow!  You guys are packrats!

My current character:

1) an Orcish Greatword of Flame
2) an Orcish Bow of Shock  (with various types of arrows)

Later, When the time comes for him to do a dawnguard run he'll dump his bow and get a crossbow.
Also when he joins the DB he'll create a 3rd weapon to be used only for assassinations.  And that's it.

I'll sign this only if Asgeir Snow-Shod kills her at the wedding.

^ I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I've still never tried out the Atronach Forge. I mean, I'm the Archmage of the College in nearly every playthrough, but I can't be bothered to collect stuff and go down to the Midden if I don't have to. Heh.

I didn't realize the recipes were composed of things so easy to acquire.

Quite a few things can be used for the Forge, especially with a certain item from the Master Conjuration Ritual. I've used the Forge to give my Housecarls Daedric weapons, and I keep the items that can be used for the Forge in my Arch-Mage quarters just in case.

Unless it's scripted to happen later on, no.  I used Gabby's plan and sniped only Vittoria from the other balcony.

If you replace complete the Vampire side of Dawnguard, I can see the protagonist ruling the Volkihar with Serena at his side. He seems to be the one she finds a confidant in.

So replaying the Markarth quests and I don't know why I never thought of this before.
You get tossed into the mines for snooping around and you meet the leader of the Forsworn whose been giving orders to his people outside for how long? And he's got a locked gate leading right out. What was the point of waiting for me to come in and leave with him? That is so stupid if you stop to think about it. He could easily take his people out any time and he decides to sit and wait.... For no reason.

Probably because Madanach was trying to deal with the Empire spy and the Silver-Bloods before he left.

OK everybody, I'm downloading Dawnguard as I write, and I have a quick question.  I've decided to play Dawnguard on my 360 playthrough to alleviate any concerns about it not playing nice with my mods on PC.  So, I've been going back through that 360 playthrough and cleaning up everything, since I've only been playing Skyrim on PC since April or so, and had pretty much shelved XBOX Skyrim.  Well, I've been working to get back in the skin of that character, and been smithing, brewing potions, selling off crap, enchanting, and travelling to re-acquaint myself with that world and that character.

As I was re-familiarizing with that playthrough, I remembered you all said we needed an Elder Scroll for Dawnguard which, of course, I had long ago sold off to whozeefutz at the College.  So during this time, I ran back to him, and he didn't have the Elder Scroll in his inventory for me to re-purchase.

Is this a show stopper?  Or does it work its way out with another solution?

You'll only be able to purchase at the percise point in the Dawnguard Quest? But I'm guessing you have gotten to that point....so nope...it's probably a glitch...don't know of any way to get out of it on Xbox.

Actually, I only started...and things didn't start well. I went to Fort Dawnguard and was immediately attacked by everyone. Not knowing early on if this was part of the gig or not, I planted everyone, until I got to Tolan and Isran, who are obviously essential NPCs, which I realized after dual weilding power swings at them for a few minutes, and knocking them on their asses several times only to have them stand up and re-attack, well, there might be a problem here.

A quick google search showed the culprit: evidently somewhere in this ancient playthrougth I acquired a 40 gold bounty in the Rift...and...well that's enough to flag the the Dawnguard to attack according to the forums. So, I reloaded, ran to Riften, threw my Thane weight around and went back to FD. The Dawnguard are playing nice now.

Regarding the Elder Scroll; I went back to the College and attempted to retrieve it prior to starting Dawnguard, so that's why I was wondering if it'll be an issue or not, since Urag gro Shub (who I sold it to ages ago) didn't have it in his merchant inventory.

It is not in the inventory, but is available via dialogue options. And based on gameplay vids seen, if you are the Archmage, you can get it back for the same price; otherwise the Orc is seeking additional funds.

Because of Hearthfire I decided to take a look at what house mods the community has come up with. There are a lot of options, anybody have any favorites? I really need to condense all the junk the Dragonborn has collected into one place.
