I see on the uesp wiki, that they've added a new column for followers who can become stewards.

OMG, Eola can be a Steward! And Belrand!

And Anneke Crag-Jumper.  That's Hilarious.  You can take her away from her husband and make her retire from her Adventuring, in order to become your steward.  hahahah

I meant a real true proper castle you build yourself.

Hell I played Stronghold Crusader for HOURS just building castles I liked.
The ability to own a real castle would be pretty fun.

Or to actually defend it during a siege.
Its like...why would someone so powerful NOT have a fort or castle.

I was happy to see Adelaisa Vendicci on the list. She's a cool chick; kinda reminds me of Legate Rikke, especially nice if you're leaning towards siding with the Empire.

I only used Anneke once, and felt like she was snapping at my character's larceny, trespassing, and murder almost constantly. She was not a follower for long. But yeah, that seems like being a steward would be a thankless job for her. It would be cool if she could bring her husband (if you had room). Or...maybe a bit awkward.

Yeah...I also think people are generally far too moralizing when it comes to folks like Al Capone :wizard:

In regard to adoption and family, and all that squishy stuff...My Orc run has been my favorite yet. I was trying to get Borgakh to be steward, but as I mentioned, that didn't happen. Anyway, my Orc was married to Ghorbash. He actually seems to like being a parent. In that run, I adopted Runa first, and when I asked him how she was doing, he mentioned that she was going to be a fine warrior some day. Later, Runa said she and her father were going to go fishing. Aww. Then she brought home a pet fox, that follows her around like a puppy. Too cute for words.

That's adorable.  Too bad you can't adopt an orc kid, that would be incredibly cute.  But then the cats and lizards would want babies, too.

Well damn.

Dont get me wrong I LOVE playing as a vampire, but honestly I really dont enjoy being such an evil arse face.

If my Khajiit ever really went to trial:
Banditry
Assault
Theft
Horse thieving
Murder
Slavery
Assassination
Terrorism
Organized Crime
Drug Possession
Necromancy

I mean seriously I just dont enjoy playing such a complete monster.
I cant think of ONE crime he would not commit.

^ Cannibalism?

Just trying to help. Image IPB Although would that be considered more a crime of nature, than crime of law? Or both? Hmm.

Now that there are female Falmer (as of Dawnguard), I say why not? But then, they'd probably all have the same face, just like the Nord kids running around right now. Creepy. But how creepy can Argonian and Khajiit be? I bet they'd be adorable pretty much no matter what. Pipe dream, that is. I can't even picture what an Orc kid would look like.

Runa is just a peach. I'd say she's my favorite adopted kid in the game. Then again, I only gave one of the boys a chance, and he ended up getting nominated for Brat of the Year. If you give Runa a Wooden Sword (new with DLC), she'll use the kid's dummy in the basement, and is pretty good with her sword. She actually carries it around with her at all times (equipped). She doesn't seem interested in the doll, though.

Orc kids lol

Do Orc kids have baby teeth/tusks?

Yeah, her morality is set to 3, which basically makes her no different than the game's  common townsfolk...  and chickens.

You know what I find funny about the  0,1, 2, 3 morality flags?    The way they're arbitrarily assigned.  The thieves guild members that you can temporarily use as companions are all set to 3!   (Mercer Frey, Karliah, Brynjoff),  3  is the "no crimes at all" setting.    People with 3 flags will refuse  all orders you make which constitute crimes  (picking up stolen items, opening chests marked as containing stolen items, sleeping on owned beds, etc.

On the other hand, all Housecarls  (servants of the royal courts!) are all set to 0.  Which is the crime-is-ok setting.

Ass backwards  flags are ass backwards

@Happy:
Already did that and have the ring of Namira.

I did just have an realization though ...half the reason I am getting Hearthfire is to keep my Skyrim completion at 100%. I never get that in other games so its nice to see that for a change.

Plus I wont get any new games till Xcom.
I dont mind spending the five bucks, but sometimes I wonder.

^ I figured as much, heh.

I talked to one of my XBL friends over the weekend, who may actually have played Skyrim for more hours than me (inconceivable!), and he didn't know where the docks were in Windhelm. He didn't even know there were docks in Windhelm. I had to help him find his soon-to-be Argonian bride. The Agent of Mara is strong in my Dovahkiin.

I can't imagine missing out on the Rise in the East quest. That's one of my favorites in the vanilla game. I mean...dodging cannonball fire, while fighting pirates? Epic.

Well...that ended poorly.

Here I was thinking I got off with my assassination on a Dawnguard spy.
Only to run right into a guard who was looking for me.

I knew I should not have put that mod on that made guards a bit more clever when it comes to murders in the city.

Is it mildly insane that I'm considering getting a wife I don't want and adopting kids I don't want just so that they can give Meeko a home?

Turned out I had 23k worth of weapons and armour shoved in a chest in Whiterun. That took several circuits of TG fences to shift.

Edit::lol: Oops, there was an f missing from that last word.

There are... quite a few new caves/dungeons, and completely unadvertised quests in Dawnguard. Really easy to miss. I imagine it'll be one of those things where a year from now we'll accidently stumble on something we haven't seen, then we'll come here asking about it, and someone else will say: "That's a dawnguard cave... surprized you haven't discovered it yet!"

Me though, I'm not gonna let that happen. Not to me. I just learned the console command to show all the map locations:

tmm 1,0,0

Very useful. Managed to discover a ship way up north that had, somehow,  totally eluded  my last...oh....10 playthroughs.  lol

Thanks.  Puting that one on my master list of console commands.  I'll be interested to see just how many locations I've missed after (what?) 800 hours!  I only have two characters, so I've had the opportunity to be fairly thorough.  I know some are quest-locked though.  I might actually get around to rolling another character sometime after completing Dawnguard to see some of these other areas. I'm really interested to see if I found all the wrecks off the northern coast.

No, they'd still be creepy.  :D

@ Yrkoon- if baby orcs do have tusks, that would make nursing quite interesting.  Malacath witness our deeds!  Though I imagine they grow in later like other teeth.

You know who I wish was spouse material?  Urag the cranky librarian.  He could move upstairs to the archmage quarters.

edit- I imagine those morality flags are to get around odd AI behaviors like your housecarl thinking you're stealing something if you pick it up in your house.  They obviously didn't quite get there since housecarls often think you're trespassing.  And no TG members can be followers, right?  So their morality flag is probably in regards to you stealing items in the TG hangout.

I gotta admit, despite my myopic Nordic centrism, I'm finding an emerging interest in Orcs the more I play.  Primarily due to Ghorza gra-Bagol holding my attention in more ways than just her selection of quality blades. Image IPB

I don't know what it is about Skyrim, but even after hundreds of hours and countless Dragon kills, I still don't get tired of the thrill of Dragon fights; but I suppose I'm probably easily amused.

Don't adopt any children to my character.... You know that first quest you do for the Dark Brotherhood?  That evil **** at the orphanage.... I'd make her look like a saint.

My Khajiit's summoned Dremora Lord would take both of you out! No match at all!  Hehehe, j/k.

Actually, thanks Addai, for clueing me in on the fact that Phinis Gestor had that and Storm Atronach spellbooks! I should have known that, but this is my first Conjuration-focused mage, so it didn't dawn on me that I could get them a little early, and who to get them from.

I'm simply amazed at how quickly Conjuration levels up after that. With the Wrathman summon, which is also Expert level, it seemed like it was taking forever to level it up. With Dremora Lord, it seems to level after just a couple of uses. I believe I raised 7 levels in Conjuration in one sitting. Crazy!

Yes, powerful summons make all the difference if you aren't using bound weapons. My nightblade is using bound dual swords and he's already at 70-something at level 25. He'll be at 100 in no time. He looks so stylish wielding that purple daedric flame, I love it. Illusion is the one I'm trying to level him in, but Jenassa keeps ruining our sneak attack and so his Fury doesn't have the impact it could. But at least with Illusion you can level by casting Muffle.

He also walks around casting Calm on everyone. The reactions are funny. lol

Calm is pretty awesome. I casted it on a Sabre Cat that was trying to cross a river to eat me, when he suddenly laid down and drifted forward, dreamily, off a waterfall.
