My new digs. Finally found a home above ground that'll get me out of the Dovahkiin Hideout. The Dragonborn does deserve a palatial estate that everyone can see after all.

Sweet! I really need to get this DLC when I get time.

For me it depends on the npc. Some are so annoying that they're practically begging to be killed.

Also, what is the best way to ****** off Maven Black-Briar?

See, that's the one thing that really ticks me off...I can't kill Maven or tear down the TG. So, there sits Riften like a sore thumb! The whole thing deserves to be burned to the ground...well, for a certain type of Dova of course.

@billy,

Sorry, should've been more clear; that is a modded home: 'Dovahkiins Warehouse and Bedroom.'  You can find it here:

Funny thing is; no matter who you side with, Maven comes out on top.

Side with the Stormcloaks and the current weak Jarl stay in power as Maven's puppet.

Side with the Empire and Maven becomes a new Jarl.

No matter what you do, you can't seem to be rid of that woman..

I do stop in from time to time to rough up all of Maven's lackeys at Black Briar Lodge. Makes me feel like I'm making her life unpleasant at least.

Did anyone pickpocket MAven for her special key and check that locked room in her mansion? There's a Black Sacrament altar there.

Apparently, poor, stupid Maven kept performing it over and over without success, until she wrote to Astrid and called the DB "unreliable".

The Night Mother must have had a few chuckles at that.

I've been debating whether to join the TG with my Dunmer nightblade. His skills are suited, but that first mission to frame Brand-Shei hung him up. How could he send a fellow Vvardenfell survivor up the river? But last night I overheard a conversation with Brand-Shei and Maven, only caught the end but it sounded like he was pleading for his life. That made me think a few days in prison (as Brynjolf says would be his sentence) might not be the worst thing you could do for him.

About all this talk of messing with Maven Black Briar....

I don't know if it is a little know fact, but it certainly not obvious: Maven can **** you up with her wizardy. I saw her shooting lightning bolts and talking some serious trash during a vampire attack on Riften  :wizard:

The best way to deal with Maven?
Keep her penned in Riften.

Dont join the TG, raid her mansion for good measure, help out Mjoll and other people in Riften.
At best she remains a minor criminal figure for that.

I seriously would have loved a quest to clean up Riften though.
Such a shame we have to leave it as a cess pool.

But then again Markarth is filled with cannibals, cultists, murders, and corruption too. At least you can do something about it though.

Also, make sure to make a habit out of raiding and re-raiding Black Briar Lodge since Maven's goons keep re-spawning. Loot's pretty good with loads of steel plate dropped. I have ton of lodge keys in my inventory. LOL.

Huh you know I realized why I appreciate Skyrim a lot.

I have gone over 500 hours now, and I still can keep playing.
It was well worth its around...80 bucks its cost me.

I still keep playing too, and wandering about, and adding mods.

I almost feel sad that I will be putting it down for a while to play Dishonored, XCOM:EU, and a few other games.

Nazeem's death was what was missing from the Dark Brotherhood Questline. The Black Sacrament should have been done to send his soul to the Void. The man annoys pretty much everyone who crosses his path, including his own wife!

I keep hoping my vampire lord gets the quest to kill someone in Whiterun while impersonating a member of the Dawnguard. My first choice would be Nazeem, followed by that annoying priest of Talos who can't seem to shut up.

Sadly, I only seem to be sent to Markath and Solitude. :pinched:

If Dawnguard comes to the PS3, that's someone I want to try out. If my assassin can't send his soul to the Void, my Volkihar can sacrifice him to bring ruin to the Dawnguard.

Out of curiousity, do you get a bounty when you kill someone, dressed as a member of the Dawnguard (for that particular quest)? Or is it like New Vegas, where people respond to you differently because you are wearing the attire of a faction?

I don't mind taking a break because it's more fun to come back to it when you don't feel like it's a chore. And this is an Elder Scrolls game, we've got a good few years before we see the next one. Get comfy in those massive chalets.

So I got my Skyrim PC version today. Does it matter that it's the European version? There are no region locks or any of that crap? If there is can anybody tell me about some solutions to that problem I don't want to have to send the game back and wait until the new one gets here.

My Dunmer intentionally fails that quest, Brynjolf lets you in anyway.  If you do decide to frame him, make sure you have the Unofficial Skyrim Patch installed or Brand-Shei will serve a life sentence.

Here's my last Dragonborn, Desdenova, during her humble early game stages after clearing out Bleak Falls Barrow:

Image IPB

She's soon joined the TG...and got some better armor!

Image IPB

And the Dark Brotherhood. If I didn't know any better, I'd say Astrid is teasing her :wizard:

Image IPB

And the Bard's College:

Image IPB
Image IPB

Yes...she made the jump just fine!

And the Dawnguard. Note Desdenova by now has snazzy Dragonscale armor and weapons...it's been quite some time since she's worn fur armor!

Image IPB

Her journey has taken her to many places in Skyrim:

Scale armor definitely adds about 20 pounds and a few inches to the waisteline.  Not recommended for the fashionably minded adventurer.

And because of the nature of my playthrough - I did a no potion run (no healing, stamina, or magicka pots!), and spent much time in Dwarven ruins, she has collected lots of stuff and doesn't quite know what to do with it:

The middle pile is about 500 minor health potions. It was a lot higher at one point but continuously adding on created a smooshing effect which isn't nearly as impressive as when I had about 300 there.  To the left is regalar healing and to the right is plentiful.

Image IPB

Here's a pile of plentiful, extreme and ultimate healing potions. Maybe she should open an apothecary :wizard:  The blue pile to the left of the fireplace is every magicka potion she acquired (you dont get nearly as many but there are at least 400 potions in that pile)

Image IPB

I always wondered how many of these iconic nord helmets you'd collect in a typical game. Roughly 100 of them:

Image IPB

When Hearthfire comes out for the PC, I'm making my house from dwarven ingots (there's about 600 here):

Image IPB

And my favorite...Cheese Wheels! Not those pacman mutilated half-breeds, all of these are wholly pure uncut Cheese Wheels. 712 of them.

Image IPB

Here the view looking into that room.  See how much of that room they take up :D

Image IPB

In case you're curious, without any potions your restoration skill will get very high.  I've usually cap out around 50 or so.  Desdenova was primairly an archer (so she got hit a lot less and was not a dedicated mage) and by the end of the game my healing skill was at 91.

Ooh, thanks for the tip.

@ Joy: LOL at the hoarding pics.  Is that a Bosmer or Altmer PC?

It certainly added something to the game hoarding and doing a no poiton run.  Desdenova is an Altmer.

@Joy, I really like the pics.  I love story boards and that's sort of like a mini-story board.  I like being able to see hints and glimpses of a character's entire story through it.  You know, something like the humble beginnings of a petite, but kickass, young Altmer woman clawing her way through Bleak Falls Barrow with not a gold piece to her name, working her way up to ...well...cheese hoarder!  Image IPB

Nice.

@Jack - nice job on the face. Bethesda does not make it easy to mold a comely Altmer. What goggles are those?
