Out of curiousity, do you get a bounty when you kill someone, dressed as a member of the Dawnguard (for that particular quest)? Or is it like New Vegas, where people respond to you differently because you are wearing the attire of a faction?

Unfortunately, you do get a bounty, since the quest requires you to kill your target in front of witnesses. Oh, and make sure you dismiss your follower before killing the target. Otherwise they might attack the guards and townspeople in your defense and just make an even bigger mess.

Does anyone at all go through content mods of this game? It is getting bothersome how every! single! freakin! gaming mag, website and whathave you lists the same " Top 10 skyrim mods!!!" and virtually without exception at least 8 out of 10 in these listing consists of same " improved fauna!!!" " glowing ore veins!!!" - bs time after time. I'm sure it's cool and all to make nightsky and foliage look slightly better but please.

Has anyone seen a site, listing, essay, anything dedicated to introducing or even reviewing Skyrim's CONTENT mods? You know, stuff that actually adds stuff. Dungeons. Quests. Stories.  Adventures.

Here you go.  About 15 pages of content mods.

I miss how in Oblivion/Morrowwind that if you cap or surpass the spd/agl stats that your pc will do some fantastical stuff like running or jumping the whole of Cyrodil in minutes.

I loved the master acrobat's backflip and rolls.  I hated leveling acrobatics tho.

I get some mod ideas from video media, but prefer to shop them myself between Steam Workshop and Nexus. Some of the best mods I've added on and still actually use, come from people in this thread. Mods are so easy to download and play test now, if something looks interesting I'll install it and immediately go check it in game. If it sucks, I uninstall and move on. My preference is to shop by category filtered through endorsements and number of downloads.

Heck, shopping and playing mods has become like a favored pastime, that happens to go hand in hand with my actual favorite pastime...playing a great game.

The Steam workshop and the Skyrim Nexus are great sites for mods

Steam workshop in particular is very user friendly. It practically handles all them mods for you. You simply need to pick which one you want to install.

Also love the new Skyrim mod manager from Nexus. Much easier to use than the old Oblivion one.

Yeah, Nexus Mod Manager is awesome. They are working it daily to make it even better. I am always getting update notices for it. For me personally, it is revolutionizing Nexus use. Since New Vegas has no Steam Workshop, all mods I'm using for it come from Nexus. I think I'm up to about 40 or 45 mods now for NV.

For Skyrim, I have about 35 from Steam W/S, and 20 or so from Nexus. Of course, these numbers don't include the nearly uncountable number of mods I've used/tested and uninstalled.

I mean ...the Dawnguard kind of were to easy to kill.

They only had one guard outside, no one guarding the door, and most importantly no one raised the alarm when they found a dead body.

Honestly that was just fail.

Well if PC players stoped hacking the game to kill tagged people it wouldn't be a problem now would it? :P Lulz is Skyrim going to need DRM?

You kill them if you join the vampires.

I think I'd like to try that quest out in full Vampire Lord mode. See how effective the Dawnguard really are against a vampire.

Yes, I completed it with my Tribunal mage. I liked the Master Ritual Spell quests; they were fun, and made my Volkihar feel like a genuine mage. I complete them before finishing the College of Winterhold Questline.

For the life of me, I don't know why Bethesda doesn't do this, and re-package and modernize older titles with a dramatic face lift.  I mean, if a modder can execute something like this, what's to stop them with a full development team (or maybe even hiring on a mod team)?  It just seems like it's a minor gold mine in waiting.  I know id is doing it for Doom 3, and I think they're going to be well rewarded for it.

While I would love this, if they do it I hope it's something they contract out so that Bethesda Prime can focus on Fallout 4 and the next TES game.
