Am I the only one who thinks dragon mounts sound a bit crap?

Flying dragon mounts are awesome! In World of Warcraft.
For Skyrim? Uhhm yeah no. There's high fantasy and HIGH FANTASY.. I'd rather not have my sneak thief turn into saturday morning cartoon super hero tyvm.

Love the idea of getting to return to Solstheim though. I wonder if Skyrim ever gets official expansions, or "only" these DLC releases.

So don't ride one. The game lets you decide what you want to do.

All things considered, I recon it is pretty....human to hope new DLC is loaded with stuff I like and, in turn,  express cocnern when it comes to features that don't look all that promising? Every game I have ever played lets me decide what I want to do to some degree. This doesn't magically erase features or additions that ****** me off.

..Truly now, does it look..good, in your mind's eye? Your dude leaping on back of a Dragon, riding it merrily all over the place, landing next to Whiterun stables, dismount it next to Frost and then guard walks to you and goes " let me guess, someone stole your sweetroll?"   You head home, cook couple of vensions. Then go FUS RO DAH for the lols, walk outside, mount your Dragon with them newly cooked vensions and ride away. It's bit of a  "what's wrong with this picture" type of a thing really!! Typing about it made me think of Gary Larsson's comics tbh

Soslthiem was the island setting for the Blood Moon Expansion.

Its mostly mini-Skyrim.
Nords who drink, Nords who are upset about foriengers, some imperials being dumb, and some dark elves.
WIth a Daedric Prince having an Ultimate Showdown between him and the best.
Werewolves running amok, and tons of new stuff.

Its also where we really started touching on the Falmer, with a quest that examines if the Rieklings are falmer, or if they became something else.

ALSO **** YEAH SPEARS!

It is human.

It is also human to project your concerns as an essential truth that everyone ought to agree with.

Some folks have been wanting to ride dragons ever since the game came out.

I just wanted a game that lets me roleplay the way I wanted. I got it and more. I need no stats and else. I roleplay for 14 years now with actual Pen and Paper stuff. When I wanted to do math I would go back to highschool.

But riding dragons? Only with a fine handaxe in one hand and a horn of mead in the other. Would be a quick ride though. Maybe crashing in a vulcano.

Yes, that sounds pretty good. In a world where we're shouting things to death, flinging or seeing others fling magic left and right, and speaking the language of dragons, I'd say riding one isn't out there at all.

Especially since we rode one in the main plot already, albeit in a cutscene leading to our arrival in a new area.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and speculate that part of Morrowind will also be in the DLC, or at least the northwestern section of it. Take a look at this:

Image IPB

I have roughly marked where two roads in Skyrim lead to Morrowind... one east of Windhelm, the other east of Riften. You can start down these roads in the game, but you are blocked from going all the way down them... until this DLC comes out, perhaps. As we all know of course, at least part of Morrowind and Cyrodiil are both fully programmed into the game, so it may be that Bethesda is finally gonna fill in some of the raw landscape and let us travel there.

Notice that the city of Blacklight is just southwest of Solstheim - it would make sense there is a port that takes people to and from the island. So really, we could be looking at a return to Morrowind AND Solstheim here... and a new section of Morrowind that we haven't seen before, no less (not counting the randomly generated stuff in Arena). I kinda doubt Vvardenfell will be accessible since it's little more than a smoldering wasteland at this point, but you never know.

There are files about a "BenthicLurker" (which I suspect may be a manifestation of Hermaeus Mora, or a creature connected to him). I find this interesting because Hermaeus Mora is obviously inspired by Cthulhu... and the Benthic zone is the lowest level of the ocean. In Lovecraftian lore, Cthulhu and his city R'lyeh are located at the bottom of the ocean. So I wonder if we'll end up at the bottom of the Sea of Ghosts, or if Apocrypha is submerged in water, or contains a volume of water where Hermaeus Mora himself might be located.

If this DLC is really titled Dragonborn and involves Hermaeus Mora, I'm gonna assume the Daedric Prince of Knowledge has taken a personal interest in the Dovahkiin likely as a result of his/her efforts during Discerning the Transmundane... which is a damn near required quest to complete the main quest and Dawnguard questlines. To what end Hermaeus Mora is interested in the Dovahkiin for, we'll perhaps see soon enough. He is the Daedric Prince we know the least about, so it would be very interesting to finally get to see what he's all about (I get the feeling he's not a very nice guy).

God, I love to speculate.

I hope werebears will finally be implemented in the game. The werewolf perk tree was pretty underwhelming compared to the Vampire Lord tree... perhaps this was done on purpose to allow the werebear form to make up the difference. Or hell, it could be an entirely separate form altogether. Who knows.

If I remember correctly, when Dawnguard was leaked there were rumors about Blacklight making its way into the game, however for whatever reason that never happened. I'm guessing they probably thought it would be more appropriate to add it with something more related to Morrowind. In anyway, I hope this DLC has something to do with the Thalmor even though I think it probably won't unless there something really valuable in Solstheim that the Thalmor might want.

Yeah I have to admit, the Vampire Lord perk tree severely outclassed the Werewolf perk tree.

Anyway, I'm up for some werebearell rolls down the mountains of Skyrim.

Man I really hope we do get to meet Hermaeus Mora.
Of all the Daedra he was really the creepiest and most interesting.

I just loved his voice, and how odd he was.

Plus what he says at the end:
"Now it is in your hands, let us work wonders together"

The other Daedra also say they are watching too....
I mean sure you beat down Alduin but I wonder if they have something more important in mind.

If Werebears are implemented into Skyrim, I wonder how differently they could be handled from Werewolves.

I would say they'd probably be more powerful, but not as agile as a tradeoff and thus more easily hit by enemies. Of course the thick bear fur and skin might absorb damage more than the somewhat squishy werewolves... but werewolves could easy dodge incoming attacks which meant no damage at all, so... I dunno. We'll see soon enough assuming they're being implemented in the game.

Also, there are mentions of "Ash LODs" in the data files... it is possible there will be ash storms if we do venture into Morrowind itself, likely blowing in from Vvardenfell. We might also see them on Solstheim, but I'm not sure if the wind could blow the ash out that far or not.

Looks like there will be a new Dwemer ruin as well called Kagrumez... I don't recall their being any Dwemer ruins on Solstheim, so I'm gonna assume it will be located in mainland Morrowind. I truly doubt netches and scribs will be on Solstheim either... but a lot can change in 200 years, so I could be dead wrong about all of that.
