Thanks, both of you. I hate having to scrounge up whatever I find on the nexus due to those damn mods, even when I disable "adult content" and block everything they still keep coming up in the nexus, its unbelievable. Why do people even waste their time with those mods, they add nothing.

Yeah thats the spice of life!

Any way if I see a pic of an armor or weapon I ask the player what mod has that particular armor or weapon, I have no problem with others liking nude mods, I don't use them, is dumb for a hero to fight half naked  while the enemy is so well protected! meh

SOOOOO, I had an idea a while back.

TES V: The Sims Farmer edition!

In this, your character (and your family, if you chose to have one) would have, in addition to a health bar, a hunger bar. For this, you would need to eat food, and it would increase the hunger bar, which decreases over time. This of course means that for foods you would have to implement a new "hunger" property. Stronger things, like Horker stew or something, would have high values. Also, you could implement a health/sickness system, where doing something like eating raw Horker (or many raw meats) would have a chance to make you sick. And alcohol consumed with lower hunger would have higher chances to make you sick.

And you would need to sleep. There would be an optimum time, say twelve or fourteen hours of normal play, but then your character would start to get sleepy--by lowered skills, maybe blurry vision, and if it gets bad enough they just collapse and fall asleep. The optimum sleep amount would be eight hours, which provides the fourteen hours of wakefulness. Less sleep would have some, to increasingly drastic, affect on your wakefulness, and more sleep would improve it by a small amount.

Couple of mods out there that you will love to bits I wager. Number of mods do just this and then some. personally I'm really enjoying combination of basic needs mod (eat, drink, sleep, get ill from stale food, get drunk, alcohol poisoning..) and a survival mod named Frostfall. Latter brings cold weather to the mix. You need to dress warm and/or seek shelter when it gets cold enough. Also enables you to build tents, campsites, campfires.  Check the thoroughly impressive mod listing at http://skyrimgems.com/
Stuff under "Basic needs" and " Realism" is likely to please you well.

When it comes to Nexus bashing on last page..let's not forget trees for the forest! Visiting Nexus is much like taking a subway ride. Sure, you have that creepy old funny smelling dude in anime shirt touching himself as he looks at you..but then on the other hand, it is a subway! It takes you to pretty good places. Nexus provides a pretty awesme mod managment tool and dozens..if not hundreds of utterly awesome mods that have little or nothing to do with ******!:P Just that you need to get your hands dirty. Very dirty.

Weren't some people doing play-throughs that consisted of trying to live like a peasant and get enough money by picking crops for people? How many hours before they smashed their heads open against a wall in boredom?

Thanks, LTD. It'll be a while before I can get back into Skyrim, but I'll take a look at those.

Best Analogy ever!

And I agree.  When I look at my modlist for Skyrim,  the vast majority of it comes from Nexus.  I think I've only got 2 or 3 mods that I've downloaded from steam workshop.  Not quite sure why.  I guess there's just a wider variety on Nexus.    Oh and despite the occasional  "what the hell is this doing here in my search results?" entries, It's also easier to navagate through. IMO

After the steam support for modding, I forsaked nexus forever. The mod manager NEVER works for me (including in oblivion, fallout, and fallout vegas.) and when it did it was very buggy.

Steam makes it SO much easier.

Its not that I don't like Nexus, in fact almost all the mods I have are exclusively from Nexus. I don't mind people who like the nudity, anime and skimpy armor mods, I just having to go through that stuff every time I want to look for mods.  I just wish those mods didn't make everything so frustrating some times.

I just started my second play through a few days back. In my first game (when it first came out) I basically just skipped through the storyline so I knew what happened. I'm looking forward to exploring more this time and doing heaps of side missions and future playthroughs :)

I'm getting ready to hit up Blackreach again. It's always a pleasure doing Elder Knowledge/Discerning the Transmundane just to see that absolute marvel of a place.

Anyway, I let Serana turn me into a Vampire Lord when I did Chasing Echoes a few days ago, and I have to say... VLs are absolutely bad ass. They trump werewolves in nearly every way. In fact, unless Beth adds werebears to the game, I see no real reason to contract lycanthropy anymore unless you intend to do the Companions questline... which should be promptly cured afterwords in favor of VL badassery.

Heh.

So I played my main game again and who attacked my house?
Why the Thalmor of course.

Shame that my level 78 Imperial went all SAXTON HALE on them.
Never have I really just used my bare hands to pummel someone like that...it was rather fun actually.

I am nervous though everyone probably knows where my PC lives.
This is why I want the option to build a fort.

If anyone wants to see an updated collection of what is known about the DLC follow this link.

I did not know that Bethesda had copyrighted FUS RO DAH.
That would be a lame name for a DLC really.

What I have noticed though for their DLC to date is that its two words in one.
Dawnguard = Dawn Guard
Hearthfire = Hearth Fire

So it makes sense that Dragonborn would follow.

You know, I realized the other day... I think Hern and Hert might actually be brother and sister. Their appearance as of the Dawnguard vampire update makes them look like they're related. Take a look:

Posted Image Posted Image

Not to mention the similar names... incestuous, serial killing vampires. As if Eola, the Volkihar, Calixto, and that necrophiliac in Yngvild weren't bad enough. There are some real sickos in this game. x_x

Also, Hern's creepy voice and smile just scream "child molestor" to me for some reason.

Eh there are some really sick ****s in Skyrim.

Good thing you can kill most of them.
Except Maven.

I just put random things in her house and move ****.
May be petty but I will drive her mad soon enough

I don't know if I consider Maven to be "sick"... a sociopath, yes, but not sick. Ingun on the other had is, no matter how adorable I might find her otherwise, crazier than a loon and will likely be a serial killer/assassin one day (one of her bits of dialogue gives me the impression she wants to join the Dark Brotherhood).

I think I'd stick Maven in the "rotten bastards" category along Sibbi, Thonar Silver-Blood, and Erikur instead... characters who aren't "evil" or "sick" per se, but are utterly detestable in both their personalities and actions.

Quick question: if I complete the main quest without killing Paarthurnax, will the quest to kill him disappear from my quest log? I absolutely abhor having incomplete quests in my quest log and have gone through painstaking efforts in my latest playthrough to make sure no quests break, or leave any quests unresolved.

I see.

Well, sorry Paarthy, but... my obsessive-compulsive tendencies compel me to destroy you so your quest will not be in my damn quest log forever. I am truly sorry.

The funny thing is that his skeleton seems to randomly appear in Falkreath (or however you spell that) after you kill him.

But... why?     It's already  impossible to fully clear your quest log in this game if you're planning on actually pursuing the main questlines, since often times mutually exclusive quests  (like "Join the legion" and "Join the Stormcloaks" require you to do one at the expense of the other,  meaning that one of them will always stick around in your journal If I recall correctly.

Also,  The "Dark Brotherhood forever" questline that the Nightmother gives you  never ends, thus never disappears from your journal.
