Man it's hard to believe that Skyrim has already been out for a year and I'm still regularly playing it. Also a birthday DLC would be nice lol (Nov 5th for me)

An announcement on the one year anniversary for Skyrim seems pretty much guaranteed IMHO, and as with Dawnguard I expect it to come out within the next month after that. Hopefully the rumors about the 360 exclusivity deal being done are true and you PC players will get to play it on the same day we will.

Likewise, I hope PS3 users will finally see Skyrim DLC... and quite frankly, I think they should get a small discount for their troubles.

Agreed. We 360 gamers have had it easy compared to the PC and PS3 players as far as DLC goes.

I was just about to come in and rant about this. Now I see ranting would be futile, as it's been discussed.

You ruined my rant! =P

But seriously, I was gonna start up Skyrim again to see if there's been any patches that addressed the lag it had when I played earlier in the year. Then I read about how Dawnguard still hasn't been released for the PS3 due to "issues Bethesda isn't positive it can solve", and I got a bit sad and angry.

And I'm afraid Hearthfire will be affected too.

Also a birthday DLC would be nice lol (Nov 5th for me)

Remember, remember, the fifth of November.

Actually, I'd support a DLC on Nov. 5 that had me blowing up some Thalmor areas of interest. And saying that line.

Is there a way to remove a wing that you've already constructed from your house in Hearthfire?

I think so. From the thing where you draw up your house.

I'm glad I picked up Hearthfire. I have so much s*** that I collect and need to store, and a chest or two in each house just aren't enough (without having to travel from one city to the next and scroll through a gigantic list just trying to find one item, that is). I can ride to Heljarchen Hall and Lakeview Manor pretty quickly from Whiterun though and can store everything I need.

...note that I do not fast travel except under certain circumstances (mainly traveling small distances in the Reach, particularly Sky Haven temple). Otherwise, it's all carriages, boats, horse riding, or just plain ol' walking.

Also, I have no idea if you can remove wings from the house or not. I see no option for it in the drafting table. It really doesn't look like you can.

What are Dawnguard and Hearthfire like, out of curiosity?

Dawnguard is a massive DLC with a bajillion new quests, areas to explore,  enemy types to fight, and skill trees to spend points on.

Hearthfire is a homebuilding sim.

I'm trying out Hearthfire now- it's kind of addictive, in a tedious way. lol

Where do you get glass and goat horns?

Can anyone recommend me a good lorefriendly tattoo and warpaint mod on Skyrim Nexus?

Heh, it took me forever to build Lakeview Manor... I built the whole thing from scratch and didn't even hire a steward until it was nearly complete. I won't be repeating that process with Heljarchen Hall and Windstad Manor - my stewards will have to take care of those for me. XD

You know...I kind of enjoyed Hearthfire despite the occasional bug.

I love Heljarchen Hall.
I can store everything easily, have access to crafting, and its kind of fun.

I did have my wife kidnapped though. Lets just say the ideal masters got a few more playthings.
Threatening my main PC okay....going for the family then you will not live to regret it.

I still dont see what those dudes were thinking:
"Lets kidnap the wife of the guy who tears the souls out of people and summons dragons! Who also beat Alduin to death! Who also has killed 3000 people in combat!"

In the immortal words of Wrex :"Killing the former is business, Killing the later....is a favor to the universe"

I know about this one
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/21081

Not sure about any others, since I've checked warpaints now and then but nothing was really appealing to me.

I just got Skyrim for the PC (previously owned it on the Xbox360). Any tips for awesome mods from the PC gamers here? Before you make any suggestions, I want you to know that I'm only interested in mods that keep the original aesthetics and gameplay balance of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim in tact. No MLP mods, no crazy space-ships or overpowered weapons. I only want mods that improve the original look and feel of Skyrim, or add some lore-friendly and gameplay-friendly armors, weapons or locations.

Any suggestions?

Also, another question: Is it possible to convert my Xbox360 save game to a PC save game, so I can continue with my main character?

Which one is Heljarchen Hall? I'm making Lakeview Manor, but I think I'll give up since this character isn't married and is about done with her game anyway. It would be the most fun if you did it with an up and coming character, and built it up gradually as you were doing other things.

@ Heretic_Hanar:  I like Purple Lady's Skyrim mod list.

Yes it is possible to transfer 360 saves to the PC, at least it was a few patches ago when I did it. It involves some save editing but it did indeed work. There are a few guides out there.

As for your other questions, first nobody will take you seriously unless you are wearing a badass cloak. You may want some new steel to go with those too.

I have a lot of armor mods, I'm going to post them for you.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10277 some armors in that mod I don't like but there's a big selection.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/19733 this is probably the most lore friendly armor selection there is.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5696 theres this if you want something more fitting for assassins than what there is available.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10864 theres this one that I liked a lot due to the lack of mage equipment and it comes in light, heavy or just as clothing.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9645 another good looking mage armor that comes in heavy, light and clothing.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/6524 black and gold elven armor that makes the Thalmor look even more intimidating
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15927 helmets that display the eyes, I always found that annoying when I had skyrim for xbox 360

Those are some examples, I have a lot more stuff too but those are some of the mods I like the most at least when it comes to armors.

As for xbox conversion, I think it is possible, I asked about it but I never found it to be a good idea at least not when  you want to screw around with the game by adding mods. I wasn't real sure if the change in formats could cause problems.

Heljarchen Hall is south of Dawnstar, near Lorentius Farm - and build it gradually is exactly what I did. I only just finally completed it the other day after spending probably an in-game month just adding onto it a bit at a time. A few hundred iron bars were consumed during the process... which is why I plan on letting my Stewards do all the dirty work henceforth.

^ Maybe so. I haven't played in a while, admittedly, so I'm probably wrong about that.

@Green  - don't kill Paarthurnax!

I didn't know that about Sissel, but a Google search nets lots of discussions on various boards about it. Apparently if you kill her abusive dad, she'll get sent to Honorhall, and you can adopt her?

That's cool. Sissel seemed nice but in a bad situation with her twin sister and her horrible father, and seems to have "visions." She is learning magic in secret from Jouane, who seems to be responsible for the prosperity of Rorikstead (which seems to be a result of his magic, in my opinion).

Have to wait for Hearthfire to come to the PS3 to see if Sissel can be adopted. I wonder if Aventus not going to Honorhall after "Innocence Lost" will ever be fixed (along with the bug for wearing the Shrouded Amor's Shrouded Cowl as a male Dragonborn)?

Thanks for all the tips my friends!

I'm going to check those high-res armor texture mod for sure, thanks for posting that Master Shiori!

I'm planning on playing a Breton thief/assassin character. Are there any specific mods that you would recommend for that playstyle?

I also have another question:
On the xbox360 with Dawnguard I chose to become a Vampire Lord and join the vampires in their hunt for the Elder Scrolls. This time I might join the Dawnguard, but I was wondering: Can I still become a Vampire Lord after joining the Dawnguard? And can I still visit the vampire castle after finishing the Dawnguard DLC?

You can become a Vampire Lord, even if you side with the Dawnguard. The option is avaliable later on in the story, though.
