Makes sense. The last thing he tells you in Vanilla Skyrim is "let us work wonders together".
Well? Unless Hermaeus Mora's idea of "working wonders together" is: "Hey man, please read a few pages of my Ogma Infinitium, thanxbye", I'd say we've got some unfinished business with Mr. Mora.
And I can think of very few things as wonderous as revisiting Solstheim.
The Dragonborn can also refuse to be his emissary, which eventually leads to him claiming that he's influenced your actions without your knowledge if you refuse to be his servant in the mortal plane.

That is some boss-looking armor - it looks like it's styled after the Daedric Prince of Knowledge himself. He seems to have taken a personal interest in the Dragonborn and desires to have him as his representative on Nirn. I'm probably going to do just that since I backed him during Discerning the Transmundane on my latest playthrough.

"It is best that you be brought before the Council, you will return with me upon my arrival. We have kept the dispersal of arcane knowledge - especially that regarding the mythic principalities and patterns - under the tightest seals, and your knowledge cannot be lost. As the last inklings of the Guild fall we may turn our endeavors to other organizations which may pose a threat, the Dark Brotherhood and the Blades, and then with your foresight, to the north.
The politics of Oblivion are not our priority, especially now with the harsh barriers in place; it is the politics of Nirn and her starry heart which are our concern. We know much, and now that you are here I beg you consider my words. The new Dominion will seek to absorb one with a heritage such as yours, with such knowledge as yours. Though a number of the Bretonish Direnni are resisting us, Balfiera's Castellan most prominently, they will not last and we will claim Adamantine.
The dragons of Cyrodiil and Skyrim are not the only ones to account for, I would remind you again of the faithful who came to visit your isle and the rebirth in prominence of the Dominion. With your aid we will instigated policies against the Talos Cult, and if the Council deems it so the Ysmir Collective and the Orders of Hjalti will fall in turn; the lords of Alcaire can only maintain themselves for so long.
Do not forget your heritage Direnni."

I hope Bethesda is gonna deliver the goods, because generating this much hype could backfire on them. Otherwise, I'm pretty pumped for this new DLC (as if I weren't already).

So is this DLC/expansion going to be delayed on PC too? I can't remember what the exclusivity deal was for the DLC- for some reason I was thinking it was Microsoft exclusive for the first 2 DLC (Dawnguard and Hearthfire). So if thats the case then whatever is coming next should be out on PC the same time as 360, right? PS3 users obviously are left in the cold because Bethesda can't get their act together...
Some people speculated that Hearthfire was released to:
1. Give us 360 players a chance to build a house.
2. Get Bethesda out of that exclusive deal.
So I would assume PC will get it when the 360 gets it, while the PS3 shall remain boned. I hope PC players get it at the same time.

"With Talos and the Sons of Talos removed, the Dragon will become ours to unbind. The world of mortals will be over. The Dragon will uncoil his hold on the stagnancy of linear time and move as Free Serpent again, moving through the Aether without measure or burden, spilling time along the innumerable roads we once travelled. And with that we will regain the mantle of the imperishable spirit."

1) Maybe they want to slaughter Talos worshipers so ...
2) Talos will stop existing and holding creation from renewing.....
3) So that Akatosh can recreate reality.
I dont see how 1 causes 2 here though.
They must be pissed when they hear that Alduin got his ass beat down though.
What is odd though...the Dragonborn is given their talents by the AEDRA including Akatosh.
Maybe what is going on is that Talos threw creation off course by becoming a god, and reality wont be recycled.
Hmmm.....

Maybe Alduin lost simply because it is not time for this cycle to end.

I'm wondering this exact question. It's become almost a given from the rumor-millers that the exclusivity deal just meant the first 2 DLCs, no matter their nature, would be the exclusives, and all the rest wouldn't.Brockololly wrote...

I wish that was true, But I doubt it is. First off, I have no idea where people are getting the "only the first two" notion from. Second, even if it's the case, I doubt Microsoft would make such a potentially meaningless arrangement that leaves open the possibility of Bethesda simply pumping out 2 quick, tiny little throw-away DLCs to fulfill the deal, leaving the huge meaty stuff out. Chances are, if they *did* agree on the first 2 DLCs being exclusives, then it probably means at least the first two major ones... which would be 1) Dawnguard and 2) this next one.
I hope I'm full of sh** though.
Or... Sony can't get their act togetherPS3 users obviously are left in the cold because Bethesda can't get their act together...

Because on Nirn, belief shapes reality. When people stop believing in Talos' divinity, they change his nature. The Thalmor are hoping to weaken him enough to remove him.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Not really. They weren't expecting Alduin to come so soon and if he had destroyed the world before they removed Talos, probably also before they got control of the Snow Tower and Adamantine, then creation would just re-start again with mortality still in the mix. They'd still be locked in the prison. They're doing a bit of a balancing act- they want the world to end, but first they have to ensure that humanity will be erased from the pattern of existence. They must be pissed when they hear that Alduin got his ass beat down though.
There is a theory that Akatosh sends the dragonborn to battle himself, at least the part of him that separated off at the dragon break. Of course not everyone believes it ("Alduin Ent Akatosh!"What is odd though...the Dragonborn is given their talents by the AEDRA including Akatosh.
That's exactly what the original On Boethiah's Summoning Day says:Maybe what is going on is that Talos threw creation off course by becoming a god, and reality wont be recycled.
"You ask what of the Empire's collapse, of new lords? I will tell you, that is what I am speaking of already. Is not the Talos Cult more persecuted than ever? The cycle need not continue - the end comes by many roads, it may be destruction or fulfillment. Do not listen to the lies. The usurpers of the East, or the West. The triadic gods wars against Talos, and would have him removed, for he sets the stars in stone which could spell their doom. They come before they are anticipated, for unless they do they may never come at all; Alduin is their antecessor, but only if Hjalti fails. Talos holds back the divines of the next world. This is why he became a divine of this one - divine yet unanticipated, thus his uniqueness. He upholds the dividing lines of the cosmos. Defends romance lest we lose it the pit of singularity."
As Paarthurnax also guesses, when he's musing over whether saving the world is a good idea or not.Maybe Alduin lost simply because it is not time for this cycle to end.

I mean we keep destroying their plots where ever they show up.
Let me count my game:
Ancano and his aide: Dead, College secured, Orb in hands of Psijics.
Embassy: Raided, secrets stolen, many forces lost
Keep: Destroyed with all prisoners escaped, and staff lost
Markarth: Agents killed by stealth
Justicars: Scores killed and many prisoners lost.
Skyrim: Returned to the Nords, Talos worship continues.
That is a half dozen times where the Dragonborn has crushed their plots. This probably set their plans off balance quite messily.

But not before spending a large portion of the game having light sympathy for the Stormcloaks, mocking the Empire aloud, and killing Legionnaires on the roads. They're a bunch of smarmy, entitled assh***s who need to be taken down a peg, and that will never change. We share a common enemy... and that's it. My "loyalty" to the Empire ends there.
And quite frankly, my opinion of Ulfric has lessened considerably. I think he talks a big talk, but underneath the surface he's nothing but a coward just like Titus Mede.
It's obvious that the only person truly fit to rule both Skyrim and the Empire is my Dovahkiin - he's a BAMF who could take on the entire Dominion himself. I've got pretty much all of Skyrim in my pocket as it is, so Ulfric, Elisif, and Titus Mede can all ****** off.

Either the Empire loses a province.
Or they continue to get free reign against Talos worship.
I dont agree with their ideology but I preferred creating a bulwark against the Thalmor. Since the Empire seems to intent on bending over and taking it.
