I think it would be cool if they went even further in the sim direction--allow you to have some kind of steady job as opposed to simple things like chopping firewood or whatever the few are they have.

And you know what Skyrim needs? A mail system. Sure, they've got the carriages, and the occasional "hey, I heard you FUS RO DAHing in Whiterun so here's a map to the nearest dragon word," but I mean a real mail system. I'm not sure what it would DO, exactly, yet, but as I said I like the sim direction.

Though I have yet to actually try to "sim" in it, to be honest.

I wonder if the Red Mountain eruption also spread Corprus disease since that's where the Blight originated from - it would certainly explain why there are Corprus creatures in the trailer. I still wonder why there's an Ascended Sleeper (I am 99.9999% sure that's what that creature was) in Apocrypha though - it is possible Hermaeus Mora may be connected to the Blight and perhaps even the rise of the Sixth House and events of Morrowind somehow.

December 4th can't come soon enough. My body is ready.

Did you just say the Blight? huh?

Heh, there was a Blight in Morrowind long before there was a Blight in DA:O, and both involve a disease that corrupts people and animals into monsters.

You'd have to play Morrowind to understand.

EDIT: Here's a brief article you can read for more information.

Love those new environments. I'm very likely to get both this and Dawn Guard.

You can't kill them all. They're like the cockroaches of the air.

That has to be Morrowind - Red Mountain is too close in the background for it to be on Solstheim and the landscape is too similar to Morrowind. I can't imagine Solstheim's landscape has changed that drastically.

hmmmm a good possibility.  I think its more likely that the eruption of Red Mountain heavily coated Solstheim in ash.   (Much like Pompei being 10km away when Mt Vesuvius erupted). Red Mountain, being as giant as it is, possibly coated the island at a further distance.  Plus we know fragments of the eruption sent debris to the centre of Skyrim.

/Lots of speculation!

Very likely. There was never any official statement about the Xbox 360 exclusivity deal being limited to only two DLCs, so people shouldn't be too shocked.

There was- it didn't say "only two," but it said "the first two."

May or may not be 30 day window like with the first DLCs.  Notice no Xbox logo at the end of the trailer

It's possible that their deal with the devil forbids them from advertising the DLC for other platforms.  If so, what a stupid Faustian bargain.  It's just disheartening to see a good developer throw in, however half-heartedly, with Micro$oft's war on PC gaming (i.e. their war on anything in which they do not get a greedy cut).  The lure of the cash is too great, I suppose.

If I remember well, Jiub erased them from Vvardenffel (the island) bud not from the entire Morrowind province. And Mjoll said she went hunting near the Morrowind border with her father.

That trailer looks sooo awesome!

Possible but the first 2 dlcs had an xbox logo at the end of the trailer showing its exclusive.  There wasn't one on the trailer for Dragonborn so it might be released later on the other platforms for other reasons (complications with the code, bugs exclusive to a platform, negotiations for a DLC bundle on ps3).  I have no inside knowledge just saying that they are possibilities

@Captain Crash - It's possible that it's Solstheim, but the port of what is likely Raven Rock is still covered in snow despite obviously having been colonized by the Dunmer, and it is in the southernmost area of Solstheim. Red Mountain is also clearly a considerably further distance in one shot of Raven Rock in particular. Observe:

Definitely a significant difference in distance there. Red Mountain is roughly located in the center of Vvardenfell, which is pretty far from Raven Rock. The area in the second picture would have to be on mainland Morrowind, probably south of Blacklight. Here is a map of Morrowind:

Posted Image

I uploaded that a while back - the two red dots actually mark roads that lead into Morrowind from Skyrim: one east of Windhelm, and the other east of Riften. Both can be traveled up to a certain point where it tells you you can't go any further in that direction. If this DLC is gonna open up northwestern section of Morrowind, it is definitely likely we will be traveling there via the roads I mentioned - and the boat to Solstheim might be located in Blacklight.

The map also of course shows the distance between Solstheim and Red Mountain which is definitely further from it than mainland Morrowind.

Sorry, I'm pretty giddy right now. I'll be dissecting the trailer and speculating all month. XD

Attention all Morrowind vets: I think I may have stumbled on something big. Someone on the Beth forums posted an excerpt from the book "The Doors of Oblivion" - it is as follows:

The Doors of Oblivion

The simplest and most maddeningly complex way to go to Oblivion was simply to cease to be here, and begin to be there. Throughout history, there are examples of mages who seemed to travel to the realms beyond ours seemingly at will. Many of these voyagers are long dead, if they ever existed, but we were able to find one still living. In a tower off Zafirbel Bay on the island of Vvardenfell in the province of Morrowind there exists a very old, very reclusive wizard named Divayth Fyr.

He was not easy to reach, and he was reluctant to share with Morian Zenas the secret Door to Oblivion. Fortunately, my master's knowledge of lore impressed Fyr, and he taught him the way. I would be breaking my promise to Zenas and Fyr to explain the procedure here, and I would not divulge it even if I could. If there is dangerous knowledge to be had, that is it. But I do not reveal too much to say that Fyr's scheme relied on exploiting a series of portals to various realms created by a Telvanni wizard long missing and presumed dead. Against the disadvantage of this limited number of access points, we weighed the relative reliability and security of passage, and considered ourselves fortunate in our informant.

Morian Zenas then left this world to begin his exploration. I stayed at the library to transcribe his information and help him with any research he needed.

Zenas then travels through numerous planes of Oblivion... until he reaches Apocrypha:

The Doors of Oblivion

Morian Zenas described to me an endless library, shelves stretching on in every direction, stacks on top of stacks. Pages floated on a mystical wind that he could not feel. Every book had a black cover with no title. He could see no one, but felt the presence of ghosts moving through the stacks, rifling through books, ever searching.

It was Apocrypha. The home of Hermaeus-Mora, where all forbidden knowledge can be found. I felt a shudder in my mind, but I could not tell if it was my master's or mine.

Why does this matter, you ask? Because Zenas consulted Divayth Fyr to learn how to access Oblivion - you Morrowind vets might remember good ol' Divayth as the ancient Telvanni wizard who resided in his tower full of numerous Daedric and Dwemer artifacts. Speaking of which...

Posted Image

All kinds of Dwemer gear there - looks like we might be consulting a dear old friend to help us find a way into Apocrypha. It also might explain why there are Corprus monsters in the DLC as he kept a "Corprusarium" in his basement for study. I wonder if ol' Yagrum Bagarn is still kicking around? I'd love to pick the last living Dwemer's brain a bit more.

I know.  Thats why I was saying that Bethesda could be in a negotiation with Sony regarding a DLC bundle.  Bethsoft could try to give a discount due to the delays but Sony is still going to want their cut (assuming they go this route)
