Yes because they're sooooo "superior"... until you leave em in a pool of their own blood.

Their superior stock makes them adept spellcasters and resistant to diseases which would decimate people of most of the lesser races. They say that magicka flows through their veins.

Yeah but they are very vulnerable to spells, too. The two benefits of playing as them are the crazy amount of magicka and resistance to paralysis. They act all high and mighty, until they get hit by a fireball

But their magical adeptness allows them to cast powerful magic resistance spells and enchant magic resistance onto their gear, essentially nullifying these effects.

All of the lesser races must bow down before the greatness of the Altmer.

Oh yeah forgot about that. In Oblivion an Altmer with 100 Speed & Athletics runs at a faster speed than one of the lesser races at 100 Speed & Athletics because of their longer limbs.

However, Gaenor was unfortunately killed by an anonymous Altmer while on holiday in Mournhold, and the Bosmer lost heart and ceased their hostilities with the Altmer. They then bowed down before the Altmer of Summerset Isle and begged their forgiveness. Being not only wise but also merciful, the Altmer agreed to spare Valenwood on the condition that the Bosmer would pay tribute to the isles and aid the Altmer in their coming war against the other races.

Well by the original Argonian concept art we saw, his foot looks larger, and a bit rounder, so they might be kind of beast-like.
