So, I bought Skyrim about two weeks after it came out, but had a lot of trouble maintaining interest in it. I typically prefer games with strong narratives and well-developed characters. Skyrim is huge and detailed, but nothing really kept my attention. So I'd play off an on, sometimes going at least a few weeks without touching it. I finished the College of Winterhold story and got maybe halfway through the main story, and then just did not have much desire to play it. Until a week or two ago, I had probably barely played it in the last few months. Then I started it up again.
And I am really, really into it now. I finished the main story, and am now having my high elf (Arch)mage take care of random College business, see what he can help the people of Winterhold with, and generally look for things to do involving magic.
And now I'm planning future characters. I think my next one, which I may start tonight, will be a detached assassin type, who may eventually gain more of a conscience later on. And I think I'd like to play what will eventually be a fallen paladin - the kind of guy who plays at being righteous and just, but deep down just isn't a very good person. Who eventually becomes an outright bad guy - and a vampire. Although, as a PS3 player, I'm trying to hold off getting too excited about that one until I have any idea whether or not I'll ever be able to play Dawnguard.
I also think I'll have a more genuinely noble Khajiit paladin. Although I was thinking of having that character become a werewolf, and I can't decide if it would be weird or perfect to have the cat-person become a werewolf. Point being, I've suddenly gotten really into this game again, randomly, after a year.
