Its not quite in the reach though....so its probably nothing evil.

If it was in the reach...hells yes it would be something evil.

But Whiterun hold used to be run by a straight- up witch!

If nothing else, at least make sure Lemkil is dead, so both of his daughters get sent to Honorhall. Well, and kill Grelod the Kind, too.

You know, I usually see Sofie hanging around inside Sadri's Used Wares. I think she gets taken care of, off the record. But yeah, Lucia is kinda sad.

Actully that one daughter of his that gets crap is learning to be a mage, soon she can leave and join the college. Or be yet another nameless mage I've killed.

Aww.  Sadri is my 2nd favorite marriageable Dunmer, but he's kind of a milk drinker so I can't see any of my characters going for him.

My Stormcloak adopted Sofie- had to, when she heard her story.

No new info on Dragonborn. But Bethesda Twitters have gone vewwy vewwy quiet which sometimes means they are getting ready to announce something. Or not. Who really knows.

Hopefully it's the first.

I'd like to adopt Sofie right now, but some glitch seems to prevent any child I adopt from ever showing up at my home. Both Sofie and Alesan just stood there indefinitely saying they were gonna get their stuff and head out, but never do.

I've heard it has something to do with Lakeview Manor, and I should move Lucia to another house and it should fix the bug, but I haven't tried it yet. I certainly hope it will.

Aw, I was able to move Sofie into Lakeview Manor. She's got a dagger now and with Ghorbash babysitting, I expect her to be a fierce little Nord warrior in no time.

One day I came home to a giant attacking my cow. My *cow*!! NOW IT'S PERSONAL

I always adopt Runa Fair Shield. I don't know why, but she's a given for me. Maybe it's because she was the only girl at the orphanage. Girl power, and all that.

If your cow gets wasted by a giant (or whatever), can you buy another one from your steward?

Doing anything mean to Dovakins cows is a big no no.

And why is it that nearly every city guard seems stuck on this dialogue in my Bosmer playthrough: "Don't cross me elf". Waa.

Eh, a lot of Nords resent elves (and vice versa) - the history between men and mer in general is a bloody one embroiled in hostility, ever since the Nedes first arrived in Tamriel back in the Merethic Era. The fact that the Aldmeri Dominion not only won the Great War but are allowed free reign in Skyrim doesn't help matters, and the Bosmer are part of the Dominion as well as the Khajiit (who are also treated poorly).

The reason I brought it up at all was that it seems to be more prevalent in this playthrough than my Altmer and Dunmer playthroughs. Or maybe I'm just more aware of what's going on these days. Hehe.

I went into a Stormcloak camp, wearing Imperial armor (from that captain in Helgen), and was surprised to be chastised by the Quartermaster. I'd forgotten how much NPCs comment on.

Why do you let a dragon kill Lemkil though? my character outright killed him the same way she killed Grelod the Kind, arrow right to the head.

Wanna know something fun? Talk to Captain Aldis in Solitude while wearing Stormcloak armor and tell him you support Ulfric. Hilarity ensues.

My favorite is when you're wearing TG armor. Everyone seems to notice that.

HAHA! I caught what causes the glowing eye glitch for me.

Its walking into Broken Fang Cave.
Literally that screws me over.

Now I know and knowing is half the battle.

Update your drivers.
I did and nothing they claimed caused the glowy eyes does it anymore.

Pretty easy to do really.

Drivers are up to date, I put the game's main files through TES5 Cleaner, have done the add-remove draugr abilities console trick several times- still have glowy eyes.

have you tried

player.dispellallspells

or

player.setactoralpha 100

Are you certain? In other words, if you take a brand new character from Helgen into Broken Fang Cave, they get glowing eyes?

Or are you loading a save game that previously had the glowing eyes at one point?

Could it be perhaps caused by a mod, is there some mod that all three of us had in common at the time?

Someone at BGS suggested it could be the player headtracking mod. No, yes...?

@ naughty99: What exactly do those console commands do?  I get very nervous about using the console.

Can you do this anytime or does it only happen after you first talk to him?

I guess you can do it anytime - only one way to find out for sure. :wizard:

I've never used that before.

It's hard to remember exactly which mods I had installed at the time, that was the first character I ever tried with any mods.

I believe I was only using:
Frostfall
Imp's More Complex Needs
Darker Dungeons
a few mods that fix minor bugs and add some crafting recipes
a mod that adds vampire dens beneath Windhelm and Solitude

Don't think I had installed any spell mods yet, perhaps Apocalypse spell package.
Possibly also the Unofficial Skyrim Patch

dispellallspells removes all temporary spell effects, like any blessings, aura whisper, etc.

setactoralpha 100 sets your character's opacity back to 100%, in other words, it can be used to remove some weird visual glitches after becoming invisible, etc.

These commands should be harmless, but you may want to make a separate hard save first before trying them.

I find it funny when people say mounting dragons ruins the lore, yet in base game we fly a dragon.....and a cool dragon too!

I'm not one of those people who worships the  lore, nor do I care one bit whether or not dragon mounting breaks it.

But that said,  I'm still against  being able to fly dragons as a  gameplay feature.  it just seems silly.  Like the Devs sat down in a board room and said:  "Ok, we need  to add  an  Awesomesause feature that'll make all the kiddies  happy.  Hmm...  Oh!  how about we let them ride giant dragons!  They'll like that, won't they?

<gag>  No thanks.  I'll stick to just slaying dragons.  That's all the awesome I need.
