Dragon riding has cartoonish baggage attached to it, and I'd rather not see it in my games.

Imp's More Complex Needs
One of my favorite mods - adds hunger, thirst, sleep deprivation, inebriation, stimulants, food spoilage and food poisoning with a lot of customizable options. For example, it calculates your character's body mass based on race, gender and your character creation menu body type choice, then determines your blood alcohol content based on how much mead or wine you consume, etc., with visual screen effects and stat penalties/boosts.
If you get too hungry or thirsty, etc., you suffer stat penalties. If you are sleep deprived, you suffer penalties to magicka and crafting skills. If you drink tea, you can get a short term boost to crafting skills. There is also an optional setting for vampires to suffer penalties if they don't consume enough blood.

I don't plan on it. But something tells me I won't have a choice, since it will likely be tied to important quests in Dragonborn, much like Riding Odhaving is a requirement for completing Skyrim's main questline.Giggles_Manically wrote...

Yep it's a great fit with Frostfall, which adds a hypothermia stat, as well as craftable fire kits and camping kits you can put down anywhere in the game world to build a fire and put up a bedroll or small tent.
Made a list of similar survival type mods here

So do vampires. There were dragon riders in Battlespire- this is well established in TES, it isn't "wow the consumer." Though a good chunk of the fanbase did ask for it. I always pictured my dovahkiin using dragon mounts in battle and was disappointed we only got a small glimpse of Odahviing's flight.Yrkoon wrote...

On the glowing eyes bug- I had only tested the add/remove Draugr Abilities fix on a save inside the dungeon where she first got them. I realized I might have to go outside for it to work. It does appear to have worked, away from that dungeon. Someone else on BGS said they got it at a dungeon in the Reach where you fight a dragon priest, so it might be tied to the location.

Although I will love the option to go and troll the Blades.
Imagine riding past them on Paarthurnax ...oh god so much win.
Even a many thousands of year old dragon could not resist that much trolling.

Not to mention dialogue logic breaking.
Odhviing: "are you ready to see the world as Dovah do"?
You: You're kidding, right? Am I "ready"? hahaha I've been flying for months. In fact, this whole "trapping you at Dragon's reach" thing was a complete waste of my time, since I don't actually need you at all. I'll just use the dragon I've been mounting since the "Retrieve the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller" quest. See ya.

I don't understand how the the "player.dispellallspells" console command can affect shadows. What exactly changed about how shadows are appearing?
If you use it on the player, it only affects the player, removes any temporary spell effects active on the player.

Well, lets see....greengoron89 wrote...
What quests would it break?
- Journey up the 10,000 steps? Ha! Steps. Where we're going, we don't need steps! Ever. Lets just fly up to High Hrothgar.
-Then there's the "do a bunch of quests so you can get clear skies, so you can go meet parthaanax." No wait. Who needs all that ceremonial garbage. .... lets just go around that barrier and *fly* up to parthaanax. And lets do it before ever visiting High Hrothgar for the first time.
-Or hell, lets skip ALL of that and just fly to Skuldfan as soon as we have access to dragons.
-Then we've got Dawnguard. Lets skip that laborious trek up north and taking the boat to the vampire castle. Why? because we Don't need boats. Don't need that conversation at the dock with Serana either. We'll just fly directly there via dragon...and again, lets do it before ever starting the dawnguard questline.
-Lets fly directly to the Forgotten vale and skip the entry cave outright. Why? because the Forgotten Vale is right there, on the world map, and therefore, accessable directly via flight.
-Lets fly over solitude and land directly on the Blue Palace, thus skipping the Execution of Roggvir (tech language: thus making it not occur)
-Lets fly past the Gate Guard at the college of Winterhold so that we can access what's inside without having to cast any spells to gain admittance.
Etc.
It's called Logic. I *guarantee* you won't have access to dragon mounts inside the Skyrim Province, because it would break the game as we know it. it would let you break the order of even the *main* questline, which was not designed with flight in mind until the very end of it.How do you know when and where you'll get to ride dragons? What makes you think we won't be riding Odahviing?
And I think you're the LAST person on this thread to tell others not to speculate, judge and guess details, seeing as though you've made post after post of Graphic-assisted predictions of the DLC's friggin storyline. At least I'm limiting my speculation to gameplay mechanics contained in a game we all *already* have been playing for a year.Methinks you should withhold your judgments until you know the precise details of the dragon riding mechanic.

You don't even know what the requirements will be for starting Dragonborn - you may be required to have already completed the MQ before you can do Dragonborn, or at least must finish the MQ to complete Dragonborn. It was the same thing with Dawnguard - don't got the Elder Scroll from Blackreach? No moving forward in that questline until you do.
Just to go one further -
- Journey up the 10,000 steps? Ha! Steps. Where we're going, we don't need steps! Ever. Lets just fly up to High Hrothgar.
Require completion of the main quest before allowing dragon riding.
Then there's the "do a bunch of quests before getting clear skies, so you can go meet parthaanax." No wait. Who needs all that ceremonial garbage. .... lets just bypass that barrier and *fly* up to parthaanax. And lets do it before ever visiting High Hrothgar for the first time.

Castle Volkihar's exterior can already be accessed prior to starting the Dawnguard questline, but cannot be entered.
-Lets fly directly to the Forgotten vale and skip the entry cave outright. Why? because the Forgotten Vale is right there, on the world map, and therefore, accessable directly via flight.
The Forgotten Vale exists in its own world space. Furthermore, the area couldn't be accessed by traveling over the mountains - it will simply tell you you can't travel any further in that direction. It can only be accessed through Darkfall Cave.
-Lets fly over solitude and land directly on the Blue Palace, thus skipping the Execution of Roggvir (tech language: thus making it not occur)
Major cities exist in their own world space and can't be accessed through anywhere but designated entrances.
Got it? Good. Now we can stop bickering and talk about something productive and non-annoying.

It's a *MUCH* bigger stretch to guess storylines, than it is to simply take a game you've already played, and apply the results of a flight mechanic to it (which, btw, has already been done. Do a nexus search)greengoron89 wrote...
The only thing you're doing is being presumptuous as hell - logic need not apply. My speculations regarding Dragonborn's story were exactly that: speculations. I never said or even implied anything I mused about was fact - meanwhile, you're making all kinds of broad assumptions based on nothing, not even what's in the trailer.
Sure, I guess someone *could* put this up as a possibility, If they've never played any of the 18 YEARS worth of Elder Scrolls games. When was the last time Bethesda *ever* put out an ES expansion or DLC that required you to finish the main quest before gaining access to it? That's right. Never. As it would go directly counter to an Open world game. You don't even know what the requirements will be for starting Dragonborn - you may be required to have already completed the MQ before you can do Dragonborn
The hell are you talking about? You don't, and never did, need to do ANY part of Skyrim's main questline to get the Elder Scroll in Blackreach. The Elder scroll's access is tied to doing Septimus Signus' quest - which doesn't require you do any part of the main questline beyond the friggin prologue.or at least must finish the MQ to complete Dragonborn. It was the same thing with Dawnguard - don't got the Elder Scroll from Blackreach? No moving forward in that questline until you do.
Good god.

False.
The Free camera (used for flight) is under no such restrictions, and therefore, neither is the attached player. Check out the video. Not only does this guy fly over Markarth's walls, back and forth at will, but he does it in 3rd person at the end of the video and even engages in battle, from outside the city, with people who are inside the city.
