Possibly we won't have dragon mounts within Skyrim. Who friggin cares? It's not something to get heated about either way. If you don't want the DLC including its "cartoonish" dragon riding- **don't buy it.** As for me, if milk drinking imperial battlemages got to ride dragons, then by Ysmir my dovahkiin is going to do it.

When I learned about the new animations for mounted spell casting and mounted dragon combat, I pictured some epic aerial dog fighting in three dimensions, but since we saw none of that in the trailer, I suspect it will be more limited in scope.

It's a *MUCH* bigger stretch to guess storylines, than it is to simply take a game you've already played, and  apply  the results of  a flight mechanic to it  (which, btw, has already been done.  Do a nexus
search)

My speculation is based on official footage of the actual DLC we're discussin - your presumption is based on an unofficial mod that takes nothing about the game's storylines into account.

Yrkoon wrotie...

Sure, I guess  someone *could* put this up as a possibility,  If they've never played any of the 18 YEARS worth of Elder  Scrolls games. When was the last time Bethesda  *ever* put out an ES  expansion or DLC that required you to finish the main quest  before gaining access to it?  That's right.  Never.   As it would  go directly counter to an Open world game.

So you admit you don't know for sure then - so why are you still speaking past the first sentence?

Yrkoon wrote...

The hell are you talking about?  You don't, and never did, need to  do ANY part of   Skyrim's  main questline  to get the Elder Scroll in Blackreach.    The Elder scroll's access is tied to doing Septimus Signus' quest  - which doesn't require you do any part of the main questline beyond the friggin prologue.

I stand corrected.

Major cities exist in their own world space and can't be accessed through anywhere but designated entrances.

False.

The Free camera (used for flight)  is under no such restrictions, and therefore, neither is the attached player.  Check out the video.  Not only does this guy  fly over Markarth's walls, back and forth at will, but he does it in 3rd person at the end of the video and even engages in battle, from outside the city, with people who are inside the city.

No, I'm afraid that video actually proves what I said about cities existing an their own world space - there is nothing but empty polygon scenery outside of the city walls, which the user in the video had to cheat just to access.

Now I think this argument has run its course... so unless you wanna just start lobbing mindless insults at me, we're done here.

So, in regard to Sissel, Britte, and Lemkil in my playthrough...

Well, I hadn't gotten Mephala's quest to trigger yet, so my hopes of getting the Ebony Blade were sometime in the future. And I was thinking about marrying Sondas Drenim of Darkwater Crossing. So, I figured I'd have to put Lemkil's impending death on the back burner, and decided to go ahead and tie the knot with Sondas.

We were sitting in the Temple of Mara, waiting for the wedding to start, and who should walk in? That's right, Lemkil himself.

After the wedding, I told Sondas to meet me at home, and put the rest of my plan in motion. I followed everyone out the Riften gates, and begin following Lemkil. Stalking, rather. It should have been an easy kill, but my new husband was walking right in front of him. Honestly, they were so close, it looked like they were spooning, but I digress.

I followed for a little while, and got to witness Sondas' prowess in battle (and Lemkil's hiding), which made me proud. With that complete, we continued the walk back. That was getting me nowhere. Finally I decided to pester Lemkil into pleading for his life, or say something other than complaining about his daughters. Exhausted of all dialogue, he eventually just said, "Yes?" I knew it was time.

Confident that Sondas was far enough away by then to not notice, I stopped talking to Lemkil, drew my crossbow, and shot the fool in the back. Then I looted his body, and went to Rorikstead to gather my new daughter, Sissel.

When I went back to Lakeview Manor, she wasn't there. I found her in Honorhall, along with Britte. I had to tell her to go home for her to show up. And I adopted Runa Fair-Shield while I was there. When we got back to the manor, everyone was there.

I noticed that Sondas doesn't say diddly about the kids.

Later in the evening, I ditched Benor, so I could bring Lydia back to the manor, and bestow the steward title upon her. I'm wondering if I should have married her instead. Her voice takes me back to the first 100 hours or so that I played the game, one year ago.

I tried sending Lucia to a different house and see if that fixed that adoption bug where Sofie wouldn't travel to my home after adopting her, and it did indeed fix it. I'm glad because Lucia and Sofie both are two of the most respectful, grateful kids in the game, whereas a lot of the other kids are spoiled little brats who sorely need to be turned over on a knee and given a good, old-fashioned reality check.

Makes sense since they know how cold and harsh reality can be - definitely puts things into perspective. Braith and Frodnar could both do with a stay out on the streets.

^ Oh, good. I was thinking about that when Sissel didn't show up at my house last night. Glad to know it works if you go elsewhere. I was a little worried about having to buy another house, though. I've been focusing on Lakeview Manor more than adventuring, so cash flow is a little tight at the moment. I think I have about 6000 septims saved. At least the house is mostly done. Just one wing left to build and furnish.

Yeah, I like both Sofie and Lucia, but they always seem to fight when they're together, at least for me. I have had better luck adopting one of the two of them, plus Runa Fair-Shield.

My one experience with adopting a boy didn't end well, so I'm kinda partial to the girls. Although I'm interested to know what Hroar is like.

Hehe, quite a honeymoon tale happy_daiz. Glad to hear Sondas is suitably amoral and badass. lol  Of course he is- he's a Dunmer.

It's kind of amazing they put so much detail into Hearthfires. I am not going out of my way to adopt any of the kids, sort of letting things happen as my PC comes across them.

^ For a husband, he's not bad. Hehe. Although he does do something weird - every day, he walks around to the back of the house, and just stands there. I don't know if he's whizzing, or what.

Very unnerving, as my Bosmer is busy building the dang house, and he's just doing his business. Posted Image

It is crazy how much they added with Hearthfire. Bethesda is really good about NOT tooting their own horn, with what's included in DLC. I really like that about them.

Guys I have an annoying graphical glitch that I can't seem to get rid off. Maybe you guys know how to fix this.

In the distance, the very far distance, I always see clipping in the mountains. It's really annoying.

In case you don't know what clipping is: It's when 2 object-faces overlap each other and the engine doesn't know which of the two overlapping objects it should render. The result is that you see the overlapping geometry flickering.

In the mountains, the snow geometry overlaps the stone geometry at some points. In the far distance, near the horizon, I see some "flickering" in the mountain geometry, where the snow and rocks overlap. Any way to fix this?

Lydia once killed a dragon, it was awesome.

Yeah, the livestock pen is kind of right out in the open at each Hearthfire house - on the side that enemies usually spawn from, too. Unfortunate.

What's actually more unfortunate is that Sondas is the only male in our entire household. I mean, our Housecarl is Rayya, steward is Lydia, and we now have two daughters, plus my pc. He's vastly outnumbered. I guess I understand why he goes behind the house and hides, now.

@Mr. House - yeah, Lydia is pretty awesome. She was my sister-in-arms for a good chunk of my first playthrough. Although I've been enjoying listening to Popeye in this one. Posted Image

Who would have thought Popeye Vogelsang, aka Farkas (Benor in my playthrough this time around) would look like this IRL?

In my game Lydia managed to fight a Legendary dragon till it had around 25% of its health left. Pretty good for a normal human being.

Oh, voice of Farkas/ Balimund is cute!

It's good they got Michael Gough to do a lot of voices, too. His voice is so nice and I love the Nordic- Slavic accent he does.

Of course no one does better Viking voice porn than Ulfric's VA.

Sorry, don't know what you're talking about. I've noticed some more graphical glitches lately- weapons hanging in midair after enemies die, rocks not being attached to the ground- but I suppose it's just bleedover of clashing patches and mods.
