Oh, voice of Farkas/ Balimund is cute!

It's good they got Michael Gough to do a lot of voices, too. His voice is so nice and I love the Nordic- Slavic accent he does.

Of course no one does better Viking voice porn than Ulfric's VA.

Frankly, I'm stunned at how many of the games Michael Gough has (voice) acted in that I've played. Lost Odyssey? KoA? SR3? AC:B/AC:R? etc., etc. Wow, that guy has quite a pedigree.

Every time I think of Ulfric, I hear him saying, "We need to move! Now!"

Guys I have an annoying graphical glitch that I can't seem to get rid off. Maybe you guys know how to fix this.

In the distance, the very far distance, I always see clipping in the mountains. It's really annoying.

In case you don't know what clipping is: It's when 2 object-faces overlap each other and the engine doesn't know which of the two overlapping objects it should render. The result is that you see the overlapping geometry flickering.

In the mountains, the snow geometry overlaps the stone geometry at some points. In the far distance, near the horizon, I see some "flickering" in the mountain geometry, where the snow and rocks overlap. Any way to fix this?

Did you recently install Dawnguard, or the USKP mod?

Some people have reported z-fighting in some locations when using either of these combined with the official high res texture pack, or other LOD issues, like this or this.

Eh, i'll have to forget about finding an enchanting potion mixture that gives 100% sneak, but my Nord has taken inspiration from a profound boast he's heard earlier...

"I'm not a man, I'm a weapon in human form. Just unsheathe me, and point me at the enemy." - Hrongar

For potions, just use an invisibility potion.
Then for enchanting, try and find a Muffle enchant.

Hehe.  I think of "Taloos watch ovah you." :wub::wub:

I didn't even realize Michael Gough did some voices in DAO.  The man's been in everything.  I can't remember who "Fade Mage" or "Circle Tower Enchanter" might be, though.  Every once in a while I miss DAO- not sure I could go back, though.

It seems z-fighting is exactly what I have indeed.

And yes, I have indeed installed the official high-res texture pack in combination with Dawnguard and the unofficial Skyrim patch.

I don't seem to have the LoD issue, only z-fighting.

So, what now? How do I fix this?

The only graphical glitch I get is sometimes the dragons textures are very low(no scales, colouring ect) and only show up when they die.

I had a graphics glitch for a little while, but all seems good now. It seems that the free High Res DLC does not play well with my current graphics and/ or other like mods, so I removed it.

As far as future DLC breaking quests, I expect to get about the same kind of hiccups as we have currently. One may already bypass the steps to High Hrothgar via mounts, pick a lock instead of gaining a needed key, possibly have dragons kill needed NPC's, etc. I save quite often, and am rather O-C about finishing a single quest at a time, so these are rare for me, but they still may occur.

In any event, riding atop a Dragon is not what appeals to me in Dragonborn, but the expected high quality also to be seen in new areas, emcounters, and general adds as were seen in DG.

I figured that the Z-fighting is caused by the fact that I run Skyrim on max graphics with HD texture pack and the unofficial patch.

Well.. that sucks... So eiher I should turn down my graphics settings.. or I should stop using the HD texture pack.. or I should stop using the unofficial patch. None of those seems like an appealing option to me. I don't want to make Skyrim uglier and I don't want to make Skyrim glitchier either...

Well f*ck... what now?

I don't know if there is any complete fix for this yet.

Are you using the latest version of USKP? The earlier versions had caused more z-fighting in certain wilderness cells.

In my case, I occasionally see a little z-fighting on floor tiles in dungeons or some exterior rocks and mountains, but it's not too bad. It looks like in some areas there are two textures overlapping in the same spot, and some very slight diagonal crosshatching lines are visible if you look closely.

I use only FXAA, no anti aliasing, all other settings maxed and AMD Catalyst driver 12.8. For the past few months I've only been playing Skyrim to test a mod I've been working on, so I have not used the USKP or any other mods, just the official high res texture pack, Dawnguard and Hearthfire, plus my own mod which does not affect textures.

That;s weird I run Skyrim at max settings with HD textures and with an ENB as well and I've never had any graphical glitches. Then again the ENB's advantage is that it doesn't affect performance as much but it still makes things look awesome.

They dont even mention that Giants try and steal your cows.

Sadly it was taken down by a crossbow bolt.
I mean I love Heljarchen hall.

I DONT LIKE THING TRYING TO EAT MY COWS!
God damn it.

OK, I'm feeling this pain...well, almost. Last night, I was returning to Lakeview Manor, and of course, there was a giant standing there, stomping on my livestock. The cow was smart enough to get the bleep out of there, but both chickens died. So, that giant got to meet my frost atronach, and I left his dead body on the doorstep.

Well, I tried to move him, but he was too heavy. Posted Image

I've seen a couple of areas in vanilla dungeons where some stuff is definitely overlapping. It's not exactly a graphical glitch, just two textures in the same spot. Not really a big problem for me, but I can recognize it perhaps a little easier because I've seen the same thing when working on my own dungeon and I have two floor tiles overlapping, or a floor tile and a blood stain decal overlapping, etc.

Don't know if that's happened to me, it could have but I really never notice the little things. Although it would not seem strange if the same textures were overlapping, then again I rarely ever notice these things. I'm pretty sure there's one place where I've seen something wrong with the textures, I don't remember where but it always shows up, regardless of whether its vanilla textures or not, I'm not sure where I saw it though,

These days, while I often notice graphics glitches, I more or less sigh and shrug them off because they're bound to happen as geometry becomes more complex, and humans are still doing the checking. Need wizard apps/plugins that can scan 3D maps and correct such problems.

I run the game at max settings (modified for 2x render distance) with HD textures (not sure about ENB) and rarely notice anything too goofy, other than LOD happening.

Since I've adopted Sissel and Runa Fair-Shield...

They get along swimmingly, which was a relief. Yay! So far, no disagreements of any kind. They play and hang out together quite often.

One thing of note is that Sissel has been collecting books. Like...a lot of books. Some of which, I've never seen before. They seem to all be related to magic theory. I knew she was studying magic, but I didn't expect her to acquire books about it, and store them in her chest. I've seen other adopted kids do this, but not to this extent.

This little girl who dreams about Paarthurnax is really making me wonder.

  Somehow these kids ended up with AI and personalities more sophisticated than a lot of the followers.

^ Your pc has to be male to marry Njada? Why?

@Addai - I know, it's crazy! I kinda have a pipe dream that Bethesda will retroactively add more dialogue to existing followers. You know...like finish Eola's dialogue that you can see in the captioning, that she doesn't actually say? *sigh*

I'd be surprised if they don't add more dialogue to Mjoll the Lioness, since her VO practically did all the female Nords, so getting her to voice additional lines shouldn't be hard.

I'm also hoping for Lydia and Aela to get some new dialogue too, since Aela's VO did a lot of other npcs too.

Huh why would they do that? Unless there's some kind of extended cut dlc.

I appointed Eola as my steward in one of my houses, and she actually got a tiny bit more dialogue, of the "steward-y" type. Strange, since she's still missing regular dialogue.

I think I have an unhealthy fascination with that woman.

I'd love for Lydia to get more dialogue. She did get a tiny bit too, in her steward role. I love that Illia has Lydia's voice, but doesn't throw the "sworn to carry your burdens" at you. She's like the kinder, gentler version. I didn't keep her long, though. She tended to prefer wearing a circlet to her mage robes, as soon as we'd enter a dungeon.

@fdg - we're just talking about a fantasy I had about moar dialogue. Totally a pipe dream.  Posted Image

ENB is just amazing. I dunno anything about programming but the guy must be a bloody genius if he can improve the graphics so much for so little with a hack while developers can't. Seriously Skyrim with the right ENB is probably one of the best looking games ever, in spite of not technically having many bells and whistles.

@diaz oh yeah, I was talking about Shiori
