So fired Skyrim up again after a long hiatus and only had about an hour to play but the following happened:

Ambushed by two dragons
Killed vampires
Killed a bard that deserved it and went to jail, later broke out of jail
Fought with some giants
Fleed from A LOT of spiders
Turned in some minor quests and even managed to level
Got lost in Solitude.. twice

All in all this sole hour totally reminded me of what i adore about Skyrim. I never manage to walk 10 feet without getting attacked by something ^__^
I'm totally getting interested in this DLC that's coming up, looking rather exciting!

And dang it, neither one of my adopted kids has brought home a pet yet. That makes me sad.

To make up for the lack of cuddly cuteness, my Bosmer has been doing DB contracts. Hehe.

So you're replacing the cuteness with crazy awesomeness bordering on psychopathy?

^ Yes, yes I am. Image IPB

Well, it is kind of a connect-the-dots situation - I'm working to get Shadowmere. Once I get that beast of awesomeness, all will be right with the world.

Made a new character recently. Character #2.

"Zaps" Female Dark Elf, Spellsword (or Battlemage?). One hand with a Sword, another with a spell, typically a summon or destruction. It's working out better than I thought it would. Been focusing on the Civil War quests, taking Ulfric's side this time around.

I keep switching between robes and heavy armor. Nice contrast, right?

I just noticed they removed the way I would "farm" my Conjuration skill, summoning bound weapons in the middle of everywhere. Now it only contributes to the skill when you're near enemies. :(

There is one thing I have noticed though that is truly missing from Oblivion:

The Rite
Everyone I spoke to about Oblivion did this at least once. You are stuck a dungeon, low on health, no potions, enemies about, etc.

So, because Armor slowed you down when equipped (but not in your inventory), they'd strip and run like hell out of the cave. I've never done that in Skyrim and I do not know anyone that has. Maybe because of health regen and the fact that I am always carrying like 200 apples, potatoes, carrots, etc.

^ Bound weapons and atronachs will help out greatly with leveling Conjuration. I use both in every combat situation. In fact, I had Conjuration up in the 60s around level 20. And thus begins the slow crawl up the ladder to Expert/Master levels.

My Bosmer is wearing DG armor, and it's a mix of heavy and light. I still can't decide which route I want to go, and both of them are pretty much exactly the same skill level. Ultimately, I want to go light armor, for Dragonscale, but dang, that's a long way off.

And I wonder what sort of mask this is - perhaps the other Dragonborn wears different masks for different formal occasions?

*snip*

It's got those Hermaeus Mora tentacle things, so maybe a cultist.

No spears?:crying:God damn you Bethesda!!!

The no spears thing pisses me off a lot.

It would be the perfect time to add them in to.

So there's still a chance that spears are a new weapon type for the Dragonborn?

I seriously doubt they would add spears and not even MENTION them once.

If I'm not correct, arn't those Goblin dudes armed with spears? Also there is a morning star in the PC's hands in one of the shots.

Just started playing again recently and ive managed to lose 3 of the dragon priest masks and i glitched out a few missions to the point where I dont think they can be reset. But I have built a house and fully stocked it. I have one child and not married. I really wish this game was online like RuneScape.

  There's going to be an Elder Scrolls MMO, but leave the good single-player games alooone!  I don't want Muckraker5504 running past me while I'm going about my business saving the world from dragons and Thalmor.

So... why are people so passionate about spears?

Same reason people yelled about the cooldown in ME being removed.

They liked it and said company tore it out to "streamline" the game.
Or in ME case to make sure COD players dont get confused.

holy friggin ****balls theres so many pages! I LOVE SKYRIM! But i love oblivion more, i dont know why. Probably because oblivion had lucien lachance and there was quite frankly alot more fun being a vampire in oblivion.

I think there were some hints about new spear animations in the patch 1.8 files.

Lucien LaChance is in Skyrim. It's true. Also, being a vampire in Dawnguard is f***ing awesome.

i know lucien is in skyrim, but he is a ghost and not involved in any plot so it doesn't count. dawnguard vamps looks pretty awesome, tho they dont sparkle like edward cullen so idk.

If by sparkle one means immolation during daylight, I agree that Skyrim offers satisfaction, esp in mods.

But personally, I prefer to be a vampire hunter based on the storylines and mechanics. The DG weaponry and backstory is very well implemented, IMO.
